Welcome all. :)
Thank you for joining my game!
This post should be set up for a reply to make it easier for you (deleting everything above). I would like the top information all on a single line. When I create chronicles, I can cut and paste this quickly.

The following information will make gameplay easier. When I need to bot someone they will have already made their action. Make sure to add the appropriate modifier and the final closed bracket (])to the die rolls.

@GM as well as Unknown and Ben: It costs 10gp for 1st level / 40 gp for a 2nd level spell to copy from our spellbooks and 1 hour per spell level, right?

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

Aye, from another pathfinder that is the cost. It is not always the case so I will ask:is spellcraft high enough to take 10?

Redgar's ACG Characters |

@Kioshi: Mostly correct. First you have to spend 1 hr (regardless of spell level) studying the spell you want to learn. Then you do the Spellcraft Check (taking 10, I expect, unless you've dumped your Spellcraft).
If successful, then you spend 1 hr per spell lvl, and the following gold, to scribe it into your book:
Lvl Cost
0 5 gp
1 10 gp
2 40 gp
3 90 gp
4 160 gp
5 250 gp
"
Adding Spells to a Wizard's Spellbook
A wizard can also add a spell to his book whenever he encounters one on a magic scroll or in another wizard’s spellbook. No matter what the spell’s source, the wizard must first decipher the magical writing (see Arcane Magical Writings). Next, he must spend 1 hour studying the spell. At the end of the hour, he must make a Spellcraft check (DC 15 + spell’s level). A wizard who has specialized in a school of spells gains a +2 bonus on the Spellcraft check if the new spell is from his specialty school. If the check succeeds, the wizard understands the spell and can copy it into his spellbook (see Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook). The process leaves a spellbook that was copied from unharmed, but a spell successfully copied from a magic scroll disappears from the parchment.
If the check fails, the wizard cannot understand or copy the spell. He cannot attempt to learn or copy that spell again until one week has passed. If the spell was from a scroll, a failed Spellcraft check does not cause the spell to vanish.
Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook
Once a wizard understands a new spell, he can record it into his spellbook.
Time: The process takes 1 hour per spell level. Cantrips (0 levels spells) take 30 minutes to record.
Space in the Spellbook: A spell takes up one page of the spellbook per spell level. Even a 0-level spell (cantrip) takes one page. A spellbook has 100 pages.
Materials and Costs: The cost for writing a new spell into a spellbook depends on the level of the spell, as noted on Table: Spell Level and Writing Costs. Note that a wizard does not have to pay these costs in time or gold for spells he gains for free at each new level.

Okay thanks a lot! Kioshi's Spellcraft check is 18 taking 10. ;-)

RL name: OG3 Character Name: Jeskit Thersis PFS number: 175185-7 Faction: Grand Lodge
Re-Roll:N
Most likely use:
Day Job: none
Typical combat action:
cold iron sectioned staff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
cold iron sectioned staff, raging: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
damage,raging: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

It actually takes two spellcraft checks. One to decipher the writing (DC 20+ spell level) and a second to copy it (DC 15+ spell level). The first one can be completed with read magic (which you do have) so you should be fine until trying to copy 4th level spells.
Everyone, please make sure to respond to the first post! :)

The following information will make gameplay easier. When I need to bot someone they will have already made their action. Make sure to add the appropriate modifier and the final closed bracket (])to the die rolls.
Re-Roll:Y
Most likely use: Failed save, if I have already used a prescience that turn (or if my prescience and that roll was cobblers). Failing which, Day Job if I roll < 11.
Day Job: Craft 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
(Ugh. If I haven't used my reroll by the time I'm done the scenario: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25
Typical combat action:
Ray of Frost, Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1 Cold Damage
Note: I have Prescience 8/day (At start of turn, as free action, roll 1d20. Once before start of next turn, after rolling but before knowing result, use Prescience result instead.) I'll typically use for overcoming SR if I roll very low, or otherwise use for saves if needed. If I'm being botted, assume I use Prescience.

Assuming there is time, I'll scribe from:
Tordeft:
0-lvl:
Resistance
1st:
Burning Hands
Protection from Evil
Kioshi
0 lvl:
Disrupt Undead
Bleed
1st lvl:
Ear-Piercing Scream
Keep Watch
Cause Fear
Hyraulic Push
Sleep
Secluded Grimoire

Thanks GM! As a matter of fact, Kioshi does not have read magic memorized but as an Exploiter Wizard he has the Arcanist Exploit "Quick Study" which allows him to spend 1 Arcane Reservoir point to replace one of his spells with a spell from his spell book of the same level - he would do that to memorize "Read magic" instead of "detect magic".
As Unknown - assuming there is time, Kioshi will scribe (Take 10 Spellcraft DC 18) from Ben:
5 x 1st level spells / 5 hours / 50 gp:
Burning Hands, Color Spray, Mage Armor, Enlarge Person, and Protection From Evil
--
Assuming that we really have the ~10 hours that also Unknown needs to scribe the spells he selected Kioshi would continue with Unknown's spell book and scribe (Take 10 Spellcraft DC 18):
5 x 1st level spells / 5 hours / 50 gp:
Vanish, Liberating Command, Air Bubble, Charm Person, Comprehend Languages
Thanks again for the explanations guys - I am new to the Wizard class. ;-)

I changed my profile picture. I hope you do not mind. :-)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

You should be off now Patros.
Maps updated: Omega Table
Please add your avatar. If you are unfamiliar with how, instructions in my profile :)

Thanks GM!
Kioshi would buy the following:
Smelling Salts (25 gp):
Potion of Touch of Sea (50 gp)
Air Crystals (50 gp)
Antiplague (50 gp)
COST: 175gp
Kioshi would also scribe three 1st level spells (3 hours) in the time you provided: Charm Person, Color Spray, Enlarge Person.
COST: 30 gp
--
TOTAL COST: 205 gp
I updated the character profile accordingly.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

No worries Welcome back :)
Only three of you are on the map, is anyone having trouble getting to google slides?

Kioshi Katsu wrote:@GM: I think we skipped my little test above. Would be great if we could get an impression as this will also dictate my actions towards the other group."Oh yes, the bandits are very dangerous indeed. But one of our melee fighters is keeping the relic and I have heard that the bandits are definitely not working in this area at the moment."
[dice=bluff]15Andor tries to bluff the men with these two information a) where is the relic and b) no bandits are in this area -> goal is to sense motive which information is the most interesting for him: a) the relic as they want to steal it or b) that there are no bandits here which should lead to relief.
[dice=sense motive]19
My apologies. The two choices (a & b) are both half-right and also c) none of the above. I was struggling to put that into character and skipped to the next part intending to go back to your question. I fell asleep before skipped going back. The short answer is they are not here to steal from you, and they do expect bandits attacks (who wouldn't in this part of the jungle?). And the night progresses from there.
Lo the bandits do attack!

![]() |

Okay thanks! Then we do not need to fight on two fronts. ;-)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

well... not exactly :)
I was about to edit that post, too. If there is something specific you want to ask about them, please do so out of character. If it will change the course of events from the current path, I will retcon any actions you want to.

![]() |

It is really fine! ;-) let us see how the battle unfolds.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

One of our local GMs is trying his hand at PbP. If any of you are interested in Starfinder Society you can check it out.

![]() |

Can we please bot Ben, it has been more than 24 hours.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

No need, but we can move forward.
The nagaji's staff misses its target. The human does better, but his target still stands.
r 14, b 8, g 9, m 1+8
I mixed something up here, as we had two crits and therefore two deaths, redirecting attacks to viable targets drops two more leaving one more combatant (and about 6 non-combatant 'pilferers--they can join the fray too, but their moral is different).

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

*morale
They have found the scepter. They seem to still be looking for goods to abscond with at the moment.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

This is a Season 1 scenario. It includes the old factions which were dropped from the campaign (for good reasons). They do add some extra story in most cases though.
Should I post your faction mission?

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

If it is just flavor I like to add them.

![]() |

If it is just flavour, I'm also a fan. (I'd be Quadira). Sometimes it helps me flesh out what faction journal I check. :)

![]() |

Sorry to move this to the discussion thread but I would suggest that one person sneaks up the sleeping guard and all others prepare their ranged weapons to shoot at the other guard in the same moment that the sneaking PC cdg attempts the sleeping guard.
Who can sneak well here? Kioshi has a crossbow so he could try to shoot from range.

![]() |

Agreed. I can take the sleeping guard. If we can charm, sleep, and attack the other guards simultaneously we can prevent an alarm.

![]() |

Ok. I can try charm on one of them, assuming I can get a clear line of sight.

![]() |

Thanks a lot GM! ;-)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

I will let y'all decide which of these you want to look at. I do not remember which faction translates into Grand Lodge, so there are two extra missions listed here.

![]() |

Kioshi is Scarab Sages so the Osirion faction mission would be correct. He will definitely look into this!

![]() |

Sorry folks, first time with a faction mission like this. Osiron is the appropriate analogue to Grand Lodge. Am I meant to read that and undertake a submission at this point?

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

Read yes, undertake is up to you. As I was looking at the various rooms a decent bit of story is in the factions missions.
EDIT: back in the day you would have to undertake a side mission. One of the reasons it changed in later seasons was that everyone scattered to take care of their missions instead of acting like a cohesive party. :)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

This took me a while to find:
Grand Lodge faction PCs should treat Osirion faction
missions as their own for all Season 0, 1, and 2 scenarios.
Sczarni faction PCs should treat Taldor faction missions
as their own for all Season 0, 1, and 2 scenarios.
Silver Crusade faction PCs should treat Andoran faction
missions as their own for all Season 0, 1, and 2 scenarios.
That said I encourage acting on the information in one of the others because it fits your character, and will react accordingly. :)

GM, do you believe we will finish the game in the next days? If not I believe that you have to report the game if we are not yet finished with the game.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

We will be on the last encounter by the time I have to report. If anyone is doing the second session of the special, please let me know so I can have your chronicle ready by then. :)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

I think sign up was at the same time as the first session. I didn't see anything on the sign up sheet linked here however.
GM Hmm coming in with an OutPost announcement.
Players:
In addition to signing in here, can you also please sign in on the official OutPost Recruitment Sheet on Line 41. Doing so will make you eligible for drawings for Paizo Gift Certificates.
You can double check the outpost page though (I will check it after I get caught up on posts here if I can. :)

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

Jeskit: I haven't found anything more recent. There is a wait list 'table' that you can join.
GM Ladile wrote:@Michael & golfdeltafoxtrot - This may be too little, too late, but even if the subtier you wish to play is full, sign up on the Waitlist section of the spreadsheet. If there's enough interest for adding more tables I'm sure the folks in charge will make it so :)Ladile Ladile is wise.
Did we drop the ball? Yes, yes we did. Do we want to fix that? Yes we do. I would like to know how many players missed out. Can you good folks please use the waiting list so we can know? I can’t promise extra tables yet... It depends on how big the wait list is and other factors, but we are looking into this.
Thank you.
Hmm
