Sardon |
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 Adding +4 for melee attack v. prone
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
DM Kludde |
Aah nevermind, I didn't realize you were going for two squares south of the skeleton.
Thaurux snaps uncounted bones on the prone skeleton. The flames disappear and it stops moving.
The remaining skeleton moves over to Sardon, and gets tripped over the way there.
Naiyra |
My last posted action doesn't take place since Thaurux killed the skeleton before that turn came up. Do I still take the 1d6=1 fire damage since the Skeleton died before my turn?.
Naiyra watches the first skeleton collapse into rubble but is keenly aware of the second skeleton approaching. She makes a move for the club, grabbing it she moves into position and throws it at the tripped skeleton. The map isn't updated so I don't know where the club landed and if I'm moving too many squares. If am, GM can decide how far I progress.
Throwing Club/Damage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d6 ⇒ 2
Naiyra |
Assuming combat is over, if not this post comes after combat.
Naiyra stares almost in shock at the destruction caused by the two warriors and the sorcerer. "That was brilliant! Those skeletons didn't stand a chance. Mahasi with your magic, Sardon with the tripping and Thaurux smashing them into little bits. Those things spent more time lying down than standing up! I must admit, I had my reservations about your abilities when we started out, but you all have proved to be more than capable. Now lets see what we have here."
Naiyra begins to search remains of the skeletons and the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
DM Kludde |
Naiyra exaltation at the defeat of the skeleton is only amplified by her findings in the room: the altars still contain their silver services, and she finds two silver holy symbols as well. She also finds two divine scrolls: a scroll of shatter on the black altar, and a scroll of shield other on the white altar.
Naiyra |
Naiyra holds out the items to her companions. "Look what I've found. These definitely seem valuable. Do you have any idea what they might be worth?"
Btw, did I take fire damage from the skeleton since it died before it was my turn again?
DM Kludde |
No, you're ok. Heated up, but that's not so bad on this rainy afternoon.
Mahasi Mi Khaing |
Read magic on the scrolls
"Yes, the scrolls channel the holy power of Nethys, the are blessings of the second sphere. Three-hundred Absalom measures for the two. But maybe they are more useful if used? This one here allows one person to shield another, at some risk to themselves. I could do so for Sardon, at some risk to myself. It would last three hours, or until I dismiss it, but he would need to stay close to me - five and a half rods or so ." - ie 8 squares.
And due to quirks of PFS we still get the loot!
Naiyra |
"I'll leave you all to figure that out. I'm going ahead to scout. Just make sure you pack these valuables up safely."
Naiyra grabs the javelin and heads towards the door to the central room. She carefully inspects it for traps.
Perception(Traps): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15
DM Kludde |
Naiyra finds that the door is not trapped, and instead opens up to another access point of the crumbled staircase. Again, advancing a level would mean scaling the outside of the tower.
Naiyra |
Naiyra returns to her companions. "There is no way up from in there. We must continue the way we have. Hopefully we shall find no more bats."
Nairya grabs here gear and checks to see that nothing has been left behind. She then proceeds to attempt the climb and scout ahead for her companions.
Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 13
DM Kludde |
Being three levels up, climbing another level is the point where it gets dangerous. It's a long drop from here, and the ledge of the fourth level has a nasty overhang. The climb up from the third floor is 15 ft.
That means three consecutive climb checks (DC 15 reduced to 5 when a rope is present), and my advice would be not to fail one by five or more, as that would mean plunging to likely death and certain discomfort. Take 10s are allowed, if that is any use.
Naiyra |
Naiyra struggles but doesn't make it up. She returns to her companions. "This looks like it will be a tougher climb. Probably best to use a rope and grappling hook."
She stealthily climbs up to the next level and draws her sword taking in her surroundings.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Mahasi Mi Khaing |
Belay on! Take 10 on the climb using the rope for a 10.
Before we head up, casting the scroll on Sardon/myself
UMD
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 vs 23
Sardon now has +1 deflection bonus AC, +1 reflex saves, and takes half damage. If he moves more then 40 feet away from me, the spell ends.
DM Kludde |
Assuming Sardon has no trouble setting up a rope to climb
The eastern room of the fourth floor is divided into two pieces, the southernmost of which is still intact and contains no doors. The door leading to the northern room is visible. As Naiyra listens at the door, she hears a dripping noise, and a faint croak.
Naiyra |
Naiyra draws her shortsword and as silently as possible opens the door and sneaks into the room examining its interiors.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
DM Kludde |
Naiyra moves into the northern room. Cracks in the walls and ceiling of this chamber have allowed rainwater to collect here, flooding the room and giving rise to a profusion of mold and fungus along the walls and ceiling.
A giant frog lurks in the corner of the room. It's sniffing the air, but hasn't notice Naiyra yet.
Thaurux |
Nice Pic!
Thaurux moves up to the door and stands ready to move in and attack on Naiyra’s signal.
Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 1 = 11
Dmg: 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 3 = 14
Naiyra |
Naiyra takes 2 steps NW and 1 step W, careful to stay hidden, once in position she signals the others indicating the position of their foe and for them to come in.
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
DM Kludde |
The creature sniffs, and looks hungrily at Naiyra.
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
You all get the jump on it
Thaurux, I'm reading that as a readied attack from your current position, is that correct?
Naiyra |
Naiyra moves into position next to the giant frog and nimbly thrusts her sword into the creature.
Attack/Damage/SA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 4 SA since the frog is flat footed
DM Kludde |
In a swift move, Naiyra is onto the frog, and delivers a vicious cut to the amphibian. Mahasi's ray of frost also causes visible discomfort in the creature.
Sardon and Thaurux (readied attack?) are up. 9 damage to froggy.
DM Kludde |
With a great surge of might, Thaurux cleaves the frog, who lets out one last croak. The flooded is otherwise quiet - no more amphibians lurking in the water. There is some moody furniture in the room: some rickety chairs, a broken table.
A small jade statue of an angelic being lies under the broken table. It looks like an item of worship, something you would find in a temple or monastery.
Thaurux |
The beast slain, Thaurux remains perplexed for a moment as to how a giant frog could climb to this level of the tower unless it was placed here at some trouble.
”This place has an odd assortment of foes?”
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
”This area does not appear used, but someone left a statue under that table overthere.”
Sardon |
Sardon stands back, buffing the blade of his weapon, trusting the others to handle the frog. Was KOed by a toothache, so didn't get around to posting til now.
"Well done," he says, strolling in once the danger's finished. "Glad to see you have the situation well in hand. Pretty statue."
Naiyra |
"It does look pretty valuable. This is turning into a profitable expedition!" says Naiyra as she give the barbarian a pat on the back.
"Shall we move on and see what manner of monster and treasure awaits us in the next room?"
Naiyra moves towards the door in the south western corner of the room and put her ear to the door, carefully listening for the sound of any movement. She then attempts to look through the keyhole trying to gauge the contents of the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
DM Kludde |
Listening at the door, you hear a draconic chattering that, by now, sounds familiar to you. Not sure if it simply the association, or actually there, the stench also seems to return.
Naiyra |
"I think we have more troglodites on the other side of this door. Mahasi, if there's a lot of them I hope you can grease some."
She gives her allies a few moments to prepare. She opens the door, shortsword in hand, quietly as possible.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
DM Kludde |
The Troglodytes speak Draconic with a very thick Trogloditic accent:
T1: मैं वहाँ से बाहर जा रहा हूँ कोई रास्ता नहीं है. मालिक यह एक पालतू कह सकते हैं, लेकिन बात यह है कि खतरनाक है.
T2: वह रहता है कि अन्य चीज के रूप में खतरनाक नहीं. मेरा हाथ अभी भी सुन्न है.
T1: वैसे भी, ध्वनि अब बंद कर दिया है लगता है.
T1: No way I'm going out there. The boss may call it a pet, but that thing is dangerous.
T2: Not as dangerous as that other thing he keeps. My arm is still numb.
T1: Anyway, the sound seems to have stopped now.
Naiyra swing open the door, and sees three Troglodytes in conversation.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Naiyra gets a sneak round if she breaks from hiding and attacks, after which everyone rolls initiative.
Tro initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Naiyra |
Naiyra enteres the room and is immediately overcomed by the stench of the wreaking creatures. Aware of the threat the three enemies pose she forces herself to silently move down the eastern side of the room toward the south eastern door. Armed with her shortsword she thrusts the blade between towards the unsuspecting troglodite.
Move SE, S, S, SW
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 oh just lovely
Attack/Damage/SA: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 = 171d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 2 less 2 damage for being sickened
Edit -Forgot to roll Initiative
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Naiyra |
Before the stinking creature has had a chance to register the first attack Niayra swiftly strikes again hoping to end the creature's miserable existence as she yells to her companions, I've got this one, get the other two!"
Attack/ Damage+SA: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 2 = 192d6 - 2 ⇒ (1, 5) - 2 = 4
DM Kludde |
The stench of three Troglodytes is too much for Naiyra. She manages to sneak through the shadow, and deliver a few vicious stabs at one of the Troglodytes. She is too revolted to put her full weight behind the stabs, however, and fails to finish off the creature. Meanwhile, Mahasi starts an incantation. Will he be in time to stop the Troglodytes from pouncing on the lone rogue?
Mahasi, Thaurux and Sardon are up, if they roll initiative better than 10
Thaurux |
Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
”पालतू तुम छिपकली, मकड़ी, मेंढक या अपने मृत मित्रों में से एक के, बोलो है? कोई बात नहीं तुम उन्हें सभी अब शामिल कर सकते हैं!”
Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
I am doing this without an updated map as to Nairya’s position. Move to the spot south of her on the current version.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 1 = 10
DM Kludde |
Thaurux busts through the door, undaunted by the stench and rips through the nearest Troglodyte, seemingly cursing and taunting in Draconic.
Reflex Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Meanwhile, Mahasi completes his grease spell, toppling the lone unhurt Troglodyte.
Situation: one Troglodyte prone, one severely wounded. Sardon is up
