Toivo spots two things of interest; the non-shambling corpse seems to carry some intact equipment, and there's a secret door in the northeastern corner.
Sunnendel misses with one punch, and the other smacks harmlessly against its rotten flesh. Jalak's cantrip misses once more, while Khardum fells one undead and Kei lays into the other.

Toivo gives the wolf one last pat and then moves over to the corpse the group didn't create. With a little sifting about he pulls out a longsword and a pair of bracers. He hoists first the longsword and then the bracers, "Don't have much use for this, and don't know what this is. Any ideas, magic man?" Toivo comments looking at Jalak.
After the gear gets settled he points to the spot in the northeastern corner. "And there is a passage away. But should probably visit the gilman again first... Or and hunt the dark fey."

![]() |

"Aye. And find out how he wants his kinsmen's bodies put to rest," Khardum adds, wiping blood off of his top lip even as two shiners are forming under his eyes. "Bloody lucky punch."
He pulls out his wand to mend his body.

"Anything special about this cloak?" the halfling digs out the bit of cloth from his pack. "O yes any of you able to heal my wounds by chance?"
Janira's wand still has charges right? Also did anyone lay claim to the potion of Barkskin earlier?

Toivo gives a snort of displeasure. "No use dillying over a pair of shiny bracers. If no one knows what they are then should just try them on." He grumbles as he slaps one and then the other on his forearms and yanks the straps in place and tight.
And assuming he, or anything else for that matter, doesn't explode: With the shiny bracers on and the light, on sword in hand, Toivo tramps out of the room, headed back to the gilman. Grumbling things along the lines of, "Spending all day worrying over a shiny pair of bracers! " or "Why do I have to do everything?"

Khardum chuckles to himself as he follows Toivo back to Uori's meditation pool.

"Aye. A necromancer had been killing and transforming your people into undead slaves. They killed the necromancer, we put an end to their suffering," Khardum relays to the gillman. "How should we lay the bodies to rest?"

"Oh." "There was a passage." "A secret Passage." "A passage in the back." Sunnendel says eagerly "And yes how do we lay your comrades to rest?"

Wolf aka Heyoo! |

Battered from the zombie attack the wolf happily absorbs the attention from M and Tovio. With combat over he trots back to Kei's side and casually scratches behind one ear.

GM Skipper |

The gillman nods sagely.
"I shall make sure the bodies that the bodies recieves the proper rites. Here, take this, as a token of my gratitude."
He gives you a wand of shield of faith, CL 6, 10 charges.
He is not shocked upon hearing about the secret passage.
"These caves wind their way under the Kortos Mounts for quite a distance, so I'm not surprised to hear that there are passages we know nothing of."

![]() |

"I can make use of this wand," Khardum says. "Let's explore that hidden tunnel."

Kei eye's Janira's wand.

![]() |

I think Janira's wand is CL 3 so it should provide a +3 instead of just a +1. Admitedly the first roll isn't that much better with the bonus...
Already halfway down the hallway, Toivo shouts back to M, "At least, I'm shooting," before he tramps off again.
Toivo gives an attempt at something resembling a smile at Uori when he gives his gift. Don't know about 'nice,' but certainly not bad... He turns away from the gilman and faces Khardum after he comments about the tunnel. In a contentious voice he says, "Still don't know why he or his brothern come here, which is half the reason we are here. And two words, Dark. Fey." He punctuates the last two words by pointing to the tunnel they haven't taken. "Secret tunnel can wait."

![]() |

Jalak brightens up at Toivo suggestion at spending more time with the gillman. "Yes, we still lack considerable information about their motivations and beliefs that bring them here. How did the gillmen learn of this cave? Is the pilgrimage to this cave common among his people or something only select few participate in?" Jalak suddenly stops and looks down somewhat embarrassed.

![]() |

With Khardum's help Sunnendel winces slightly as Khardum taps him with the wand. He seems a little awe struck as even the littlest scratches on his arms and feet seem to sinch themselves back too smooth skin without even the hints off a scar.

No problem.
"He said they come here to meditate in the pure waters," he says, pointing to the notes he took. "Granted we learned more about the shrine than we did about the gillmen and their pilgrimage."
Ironically, you could get every drop of information about gillmen from Uori and still fail the primary objective or kill him and fulfill the primary objective without him.
He looks at Toivo, arching his brow. "Well, if you want to hunt redcaps and fetchlings, I'm not going to stop you. Just seems to me that one way is as good as the other."

Resigned at the thought of untold treasures behind a secret door I want to open that door soooo bad Sunnendel thinks to himself but says instead "Lets get to going." "To the fey we go." "That door is calling me though." "Toivo!" "Promise me we will go back please." he finishes pleadingly

The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline. On the far side of the river, two ugly, blu-skinned wretched stand guard with what seems to be a domesticated centipede the size of Sunnendel.

When Khardum pulls out his notes and starts listing information off, Toivo's eyes go wide for a second. "When did you write that and you got all that from his conversation? ....guess you're more competent than I expected." He gives a slight huff at the end of this, but seems slightly impressed nonetheless.
Toivo waits with little patience as the rest of the group decides between the two options, He readily agrees to Sunnendel's condition of going back to the hidden door, saying "I don't care what we do after defeating the dark ones, so going back to that door is okay with me." By the time the decision seems to be made, Toivo is already so excited he can barely keep still. With Kei's assent Toivo breaks out into his first full smile all day and bounds out of the room and into the other hallway, leading the group. Part of the way though the pain in his back from the fall earlier seems to catch up with him and he slows down allowing some of the group to get in front of him. So it's not odd that he isn't at the head of the group...
When the group encounters the blue people and the centipede, Toivo cranes his neck around Sunnendel, anxious to see what the group is facing. He counters the halfling's words with a scoff. "If that's little then I'm your grandmother! It's as big as you!" He then ponders for a moment if he recognizes what the fey or centipede are.

"You sure they're fey?" Khardum asks, hefting his cold iron battle axe. "Look more like little blue goblins."

The centipede scitters into and out of the river, ending up next to Khardum with a hiss.
Toivo recognizes the blu-skinned creatures as mites. DR/cold iron, basic spell casting and vermin affinity.
He also knows that the centipede's bite is venomous.
