Grand Lodge

Floggentop starts encouraging his companions in this most desperate hour. Choamski fails at hitting the cobra, but is able to recall and share several bits of useful information. That creature is an iron cobra, a construct known for the poison often instilled inside its fangs by its creator and master. It is also known to be resistant to physical damage and spells.

The invisible Kort moves into position without incurring an agressive reaction from the cobra. Chasik moves to hit the iron cobra but misses, and Rellen easily avoids being hit while moving into melee reach. The Andoran flings his scabbard, but it barely scratches the iron body. However his massive blade inflicts severe damage to the small metal snake.

Well, that is a bit disappointing. Next level, 2d6. The wand would have been better, but there's no room.

Knorrin, too, tries to recall information on the metal snake, and releases a blast of positive energy, but it is a weak one.

Knorrin recalls an additional bit of information - the iron cobra sees in darkness, but doesn't see what is invisible.

Krenar Half-Face, an evil grin on his disfigured face, throws one of his bombs on Rellen! His throw is deft enough to avoid hitting the cobra. The glass flasks rises high before falling right on top of Rellen's head - the perfect throw. It explodes just as the surprised warrior turns his face to see the bomb, but it's too late. Alchemical fires ravage Rellen's face to the bone, charring the flesh deep. The stench and the cry of pain are unsustainable for the Andoran's companions. They see him fall on the ground, on the brink of death. Critical hit for 21 damage, fortunately he doesn't catch fire. Kort suceeds his Ref save and only takes 2 damage

Meanwhile, the iron beast attempts to bite Chasik, deliberately trying to finish off his first prey. He bites deep, injecting acid once again in the unbrakable warrior's veins. 7 damage

Chasik takes another bite to the leg. In turn he takes another swing at the cobra. It seems his allies healing has rejuvenated him and he strikes the cobra true.

Rellen howls, maddened in pain as his flesh melts and topples to the floor a burning husk! Knorrin's channel returns him to consciousness - though he is definitely not enjoying it - and he staggers to his feet snarling.

In a flash steps forward, draws his coldiron sword, sending the scabbard flying into the man who turned him into a passable impression of a well used candle. Then dropping the sword, he yanks his bow free and sends a shaft to bury itself in his opponent's flesh,

"EAT THAT YOU FILTHY GOBLIN FORNICATOR!!!" He howls clearly lost to reason.

DM Lithrac can I speak as I see Chasik closing? I think speech is normally a free action that you can perform at any time or something?

Sorry for the harsh tone Chasik, but I imagine Rellen is in a great deal of pain, and he's not that huggable to begin with :)

Kort races across the room, drawing his Great Bloody Monsterwhacker as he proceeds. As he stands next to Krenar, he drops his bow, taking his greatsword in both hands, and cuts viciously at the alchemist.

As Knorrin and Floggentop summons forth healing energies, Chasik puts an end to the iron menace, smashing it to pieces. Rellen throws a scabbard and attempts to pierce the alchemist's skin with an arrow, and both are lucky blows, managing to pierce the tough bugger's thick skin. Kort becomes visible after swinging his sword against Krenar, but his blade misses the mark.

Yes Kort, the +2 applies and it's against flat-footed AC, but it doesn't hit.

Rellen takes a shot, but his ruined fingers slip on the string and his arrow flies well wide of the mark, growling to himself he turns and makes for cover knowing he cannot afford to take another hit.

GM Lithrac can Rellen now see down the side corridor? I'm hoping it may offer a better avenue of escape, saving move action until I know.

Kort is momentarily frustrated by the alchemist taking to the air, but rapidly adapts - casting grasping gray tendrils of cold up Krenar's skirts, then ducking for some cover beneath the alchemist's workbench.

Sure Floggentop, that's a very creative use that I'll gladly allow! DC 15, right? And do you maintain performance?

Kort tries to prevent Krenar from rising in the air, but misses his blow, and so does Chasik. Choamski lands a lucky shot with his crossbow, but unfortunately it doesn't result in anything more than a simple graze.

Rellen moves to cover, aware that his life hangs on but a thread. Already moved him since he can see no immediate danger in this hall. Feel free to adjust by 1-2 squares if you wish.

Krenar chuckles at Chasik's petty attempt to provoke him into a melee combat he wouldn't win, and throws another bomb, this time at the far side of the room, towards Choamski! However, Wizzy is quick to react and casts an arcane spell causing the bomb to slip from the alchemist's hands and crash on the ground 20 feet below. It breaks, exploding close to (but not right on top of) Kort. The Chelaxian deftly dodges most of the flames, incurring only minor burns. Krenar curses and prepares his next trick... 2 damage taken by Kort.

Kort bites back a curse - having failed to take into account the singing splash from the alchemist's bombs. Instead, Kort scoots down the length of the workbench, pops from out of cover, and sends more gray lines of cold seeking up Krenar's skirts.

Two missiles are aimed at the disfigured alchemist, but both fail to reach him. Kort's ray fails to surprise Krenar as he's got a vantage point of view and the Chelish rogue can't really fade out of view from him. His ray finds its target though. Can you detail the 1d3+2+1+1? I'm counting PBS, Performance, Bloodline arcana, but I'm at a loss to explain the last one.

Krenar is expected to draw another bomb, but he fails to do so. The alchemist instead eats a small red chili, and his cheeks inflate to a point where they seem about to burst. Krenar then blows down in Kort and Chasik's direction, flooding them into roaring flames just like a dragon would. Luckily, both are able to find cover from the torrent of sovereign fire. 8 damage each.

Invisible Rellen sends a shaft flying at the accursed alchemist and then as he becomes visible leans down and plucks up his sword in one hand, "We need to finish this freak," he growls, his flesh still a grotesque tapestry of burns despite Knorrin's much appreciated efforts.

Knorrin, that's a strange action since he has nothing in his hands. Did you mean to ready it the way Floggentop did? I've assumed so, but unfortunately he made the save.
Kort, I'm giving you improved cover (+8 AC) for this. I've included it in Krenar's ranged touch attack actually.

Both acid and freezing energies rise up to the ceiling, hitting Krenar with full force. Krenar "Half-Face"... "Half-Dead" would be more fitting to the circumstance. Unfortunately, Rellen's arrow miss its mark, and so does Chasik's. The Andoran becomes visible in the process.

Floggentop readies a grease spell, satisfied with his tactical acumen. Knorrin imitates the gnome and commands the alchemist to drop his newly-created bomb. Krenar grasps and mixed his vials once more, and attempts to throw the created bomb on one of the Pathfinders. His unstable and highly explosive bomb is slippery thanks to Floggentop's spell, but Krenar is definitely more nimble since he applied his alchemical substance and he manages to prepare and throw the bomb successfully. He also resists Knorrin's urge to drop it, showing an uncommon force of will.

The bomb is aimed right at the one who has been damaging him the most - Kort. The throw is a bull's eye, landing right on the Chelish rogue's arm despite the massive cover from the alchemical apparatus protecting him. The bomb explodes in a thunderous noise as Kort's arm is severely burnt by it, to the point where he falls unconscious from the pain. Falling upon himself Kort curls on his charred arm, luckily smothering the growing flames consuming his flesh and thus preventing the burns from getting worse. Choamski is also hurt in the process, splashed by the explosive substance he's unable to avoid. A very unfortunate turn of events... 14 damage for Kort, 4 for Choamski.

In another time, another dimension...

Kort, hidden behind an alembic and some glass tubes containing an evil green fluid, is lost in his thoughts, well-aware that this fight could have been his last. Had Rellen not shot that arrow, one of the explosive bombs would have charred his flesh to a crisp, with little hope of surviving the impact.

Thankfully, it didn't happen that way. The shaft of the Andoran's arrow did pierce the leathery skin at the nape of the alchemist's neck, and Krenar "Half-Face" did fall down, plumetting like a feather in the wind until it crashed among the apparati that once sparkled the flame of his creation wish, a long time ago...
