Good to go!
Before we start, I should mention that Konrad has a couple of abilities that can be used as immediate actions to reduce damage to himself (which I have spoilered below below). If by some chance he should take massive damage from an attack like a crit or an empowered fireball or something, I will most likely use Mind Barrier and Energy Shield to block some of them, respectively.
Mind Barrier (Sp): As a swift action, you can expend 1 point of mental focus to create a shield of mental energy around you that protects you from harm. The shield prevents a total of 2 points of damage per occultist level you possess. It lasts until the start of your next turn or until exhausted. For example, if you are 5th level, the mind barrier protects you from 10 points of damage; if you are hit by an attack that would deal 12 points of damage, the mind barrier is exhausted and you take 2 points of damage. You can activate this ability as an immediate action, but doing so costs 2 points of mental focus instead of 1.

Alright, so I am purchasing:
-Ring of Protection +1 (2000 gp)
-Ring of Feather Falling (2200 gp)
-Clear Spindle Ioun Stone (4000 gp)
-Boots of the Earth (5000 gp)
-Wand of Comprehend Languages with 13 charges (Limit 1)(195 gp)
I am also upgrading my shield from a +1 enhancement bonus to a +2 (3000 gp), and upgrading my armor from masterwork to +2 (4000gp)
Unspent GM credit is now spent.

I've been looking at everyone's character sheet in passing, and I'm wondering if I should spend a couple PP for a scroll of restoration. Normally it wouldn't phase me, but it would put me at 15 PP, one short of a raise dead should that arise.
Thoughts?

![]() |

Hmm...that is certainly a good option to have.
Tell you what, I can spend 2 pp on it (I've got 24 atm). I'll have to hold onto it after the module if we don't use it (since you can't give gifts in PFS), but it's a good thing to have, and Konrad has a good UMD anyways if it comes to that.

![]() |

Thanks! I only mention it because at these levels we're bound to have to deal with ability drain. Let's just hope only one person has to deal with that.

![]() |

Yeah, ability drain becomes much more common at this level. Negative levels, too. Konrad has deathless on his armor, which helps with the latter at lest.
Scroll has been purchased. We'll just assume you are holding it.

Hey guys, sorry for my absence in the past few weeks. I somehow hid this campaign from my active campaigns accidently when I went through the open but inactive campaigns to clean up my dashboard. I'm really sorry for this!

![]() |

Hey everyone!
I'm gonna be going out of town the afternoon of the 20th (Friday) and I probably won't be back with an opportunity to post until Sunday evening (the 22nd). I have never been to an event like this before, so I don't know how much opportunity I will have to post.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

![]() |

So, GM:
The recent errata'd changes to certain equipment items impact Drax, as he has both feather step slippers and a jingasa of the fortunate soldier; how would you like me to handle this?
1) Assume the old item rules are in play and fix it after the module;
2) Sell them back now and do whatever rebuying I may do before we start an actual combat? If so, do I have the option to buy other things instead (because I know right now I'm not re-buying a now-pretty-useless jingasa....)
3) Some other option at your discretion?

![]() |

Compton ruled before that when changes like this happen and affect people in the middle of a module, they can finish-out the module before letting the new rules take effect.

My sister got married today, I thought I had time to post, but the preparation took more time than expected. Sorry for the delay, please bot me when necessary.

GM Alias |

Congratulations to your sister, Elenial. And don't worry about the slow posting. I haven't been super on top of it myself.
In fact, I wanted to thank the group for being patient with my posting rate. This is slower than I envisioned when starting the game, but RL has been a bear the last couple of months. Nothing too outrageous, but it eats into my posting time.
Rest assured, I have every intention of taking us through to the end. It may be slower than I wanted, but we will get there.

![]() |

Just a heads up for everyone. My computer died on sunday and is currently in a shop being looked at. I should have more info on what I need to do to fix it but I think the motherboard died. So right now I can only post from my phone or at work, so my posting rate will be much much slower. Especially on my GM threads. I hope to get this fixed ASAP and will keep you up to date.

![]() |

If Quarr becomes too annoying just let me know. I can tone him back a little bit. :)

![]() |

NEWS TIME!!!!! I have good news and news... news. First I got a call today saying that my computer has been fixed and I will be picking it up after work. Second I will be leaving at 4:15 am on Wednesday to head to Indy for Gen Con. So I will only be able to post tonight/tomorrow until after Gen Con. Thanks for everyones patience!!

![]() |

Jealous! I always wanted to go to Gen Con

GM Alias |

GM Alias's notes on Gen Con:
1. Gen Con is huge! Don't let it overwhelm you. Go in with a plan of attack and you will be fine.
2. You will not hit everything you want to. There is just too much going on. Accept that fact and make peace with it.
3. Budget at least one day for the dealer room. You could probably spend the whole con here and not get bored. But give yourself time to wander. And check out everything. You will find something cool in places you don't expect.
4. One of my favorite events is the Ork Stomp 5k. They do an early morning run in the White River State Park, which is right next to downtown. It's a great change of pace from the rest of the con craziness.
5. The food options have gotten better over the years. Head out to Georgia Street for lunch and hit one of the food trucks, rather than staying in the convention center. Better food for the same price.
6. If you can show up on Wednesday to pick up your badge and tickets, do it. Starting on Thursday, the lines get crazy long.
7. Most important: Have fun! That's the whole point of the thing.
I've managed to go three or four times (not this year, though) and had a blast each time. I'm sure you will too.

I'm so sorry about not posting this weekend. I got a call Friday saying my grandma had been rushed to the hospital and spent the weekend with her and my family. Luckily she will be ok and it wasnt as bad as she had thought. Sorry again. I will get a full post up here in a bit.

This goes to all my games (GMing or playing):
Thank you very much for your patience! Several weeks ago my partner decided to continue his life without me. For me it was a surprise, after 16 years of relationship. While I was busy looking for a new place to live the workload at work got more and more (the bank is changing the treasury apps completely, moving to a new vendor) and my mother opens her own shop on Monday and wanted me to help with ordering stuff, making a website, creating advertising, business cards, preparing the shop etc.
As you can imagin I'm tired, done and completely frustrated. I've not been in the mood to open the Paizo page and reading messages of upset GMs/players "shouting" at me or demanding immediate upates so I did not open this page for a long time now.
I'm really sorry that I put you into this situation, but to make sure: it does not have anything to do with you or your gaming style. It was just that a lot of things hit me at the same time. I'm currently working through the games to update everything.

GM Alias |

Condolences on your loss, GM V.
Elenial: Don't sweat the absence. Real life is messy, and takes precedence over the games. As you may have figured out, I'm not particularly fast with my games, so you haven't missed much. Please feel free to re-engage on your own time. And good luck with getting things sorted out.

GM Alias |

Due to recent changes in work load, I'm afraid I can't dedicate the time to this game that it, and you, deserve. I've enjoyed playing with all of you.
I can leave this game active for a few days if you want to try to find another GM. We are about 25% of the way through the module. Otherwise, I will inactivate it, and you can move your characters on to the next adventure.

![]() |

Well..... dang. Sorry to hear that, Alias.
What do you think, guys? I think Baerlie might be out as one of our players given I've seen people asking for replacement GM-ing for games she was running, over in Flaxseed.
If this were a normal PFS scenario I'd be quicker to say, sure, let's ask for a GM, but a module's pretty big. I'm willing to keep playing but, enh, open to opinions.
