322 doesn't answer, not quite sure what might happen to the leader. Despite her silence, she entends a finger on her left arm, pointing directly at the one they had been calling The Leader. She nods as she does so.
DM Kludde |
You! the wyvaran bellows, apparantly not used to courtly customs you are the Aspis King? Why do you wear no crown? Tell me, what plan do you have? We long to kill pathfinders, share us your strategy, so that we may shed the blood of a thousand humans.
The Leader |
"I am the Leader, yes."
Rataji bows, acknowledging the gathered sapients.
"With the way from the Tapestry finally open, we finally have the chance to bring the fight to the damnable Pathfinder Society. For too long have they raided your home, taking what they want, when they want. Similarly, for too long, they have interfered with the legitimate businesses of the Aspis Consortium. THIS ENDS TODAY! We are poised to deliver a fatal blow to the Society, right here at the heart of their power. Whilst Consortium operatives attack the Grand Lodge from the outside, we have been sowing discord and confusion across the Lodge, and with your help, we are able to open up a second front from inside. As to specifics, those with flight capability should concentrate on taking the towers, so as to better rain down ranged attacks on the Society. For everyone else, the aim will be to sow as much discord as possible - the longer the Society is off-balance, the better we will do; target anyone that looks like they are taking a leadership role, and anyone who looks particularly green (as they are more likely to panic). It would also be worth liberating relics from the Vaults - the Society keeps powerful magic down there, and it could be used quite effectively against them. IT IS NOW OUR TIME. We must seize the moment!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29.
DM Kludde |
A deafening roar spreads from the army commanders, and in turn, from the army beyond. It might just be the spur of the moment, but you can actually feel the the ancient tower shake in it foundations. Masses of creatures start pouring out the gates, ready to spread carnage on the grounds below.
Then, a restless looking green dragon approaches the group. Wolona spoke of a group. Tasked to neutralize the mage that command the tapestry. A powerful mage, one that owns all arcane books. I want to kill this man, I want to be part of your expedition!
But Gazwyr, Wolona says, overhearing the conversation we need you as an army commander, or else someone should take your place!
I'm offering the rare opportunity to play a Green Dragon(link) as a player character. You'll be giving up your current character for the rest of the scenario, though. If you're interested, roll a d20 (if you're not, say so!). Highest roll gets it.
TheBobJones_PFSPregen |
I just got a cool magic item, or I would. Staying put ... though super tempting.
DM Kludde |
The Ambitious eagerly takes the head of a troupe of reptilian slaughterguards, as the army keeps pouring out of the tapestry. Gazwyr, with equal eagerness, takes his place.
Let's go kill a wizard!
The crude map that the Professional has in her possession points to the Selmius Foster library as the location of the Sky Key. Her map leads to a set of heavily reinforced wooden double doors, bulging outward slightly. One of them has a small mail slot roughly
three feet off the ground, and a buzzing can be heard from the opposite side of the doors.
The Leader |
Rataji nods in the direction of the buzzing door.
"Shohiraj, do your thing."
I am going to assume a Perception 'Take 20' and a Disable Device of 'Take 10' on the buzzing (not-trapped-at-all!) door...
Alright people, if this is the end-game, let's talk buffs.
Round 2: See Invisibility.
Round 3: Shield.
Round 4: Fly on Manarius.
Round 5: Displacement.
Round 6: Haste.
If anyone has any other buffs they wish to note down, now is the time to do it :-)
Pregen - PatheticWretch |
The Ambitious joins the legions as they prepare to maraud through the tower.
He is replaces by one equally as ambitious. The young dragon quaffs a potion he has saved just for this moment. Potion of owl's wisdom
I'll just continue to be The Ambitious to keep things easy.
TheBobJones_PFSPregen |
Looking at the other agents making their preparations, Marnarius takes a vial of of his pack. The dark-glass vial holds unknown contents. Gently removing the stopper, he tips the vial onto a rag. Taking care not to spill any, or get any on himself, he carefully applies it to the blade of his newly acquired scythe.
Once he finished, the throws the rag into the corner, were it begins to dissolve.
Deathblade Poison (Ex) Save Fortitude DC 20, Frequency 1/round for 6 rounds, Effect 1d3 Con damage; Cure 2 consecutive saves
The Pro |
Approaching the door carefully, Shohiraj gives it a quick look-over. "I'd wait on the short-burst hexes until I give the signal." she whispers. "Best to make sure this thing doesn't explode on us."
She then carefully peers around the door, not attempting to open it until she's scoured it for traps.
'Take 20' to search the door for a trap. Get a 35.
Once she's confident the door is safe to go, she'll give a motion to her colleagues, then quickly quaff her potion of invisibility, followed by her potion of displacement if there is another round.
DM Kludde |
There seems to be some kind of trapped paper card behind the mail slot, and the professional easily removes it by poking a dagger in.
The door itself is locked, but also no match for the professional's skills.
This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. A strange armillary pulses with energy from atop the pedestal. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curiosities and curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock on the eastern wall ticks each passing second.
Inside the room is fabled master of scrolls, Aram Zey, taunting the agents. Trying to steal a little trinket, aren't you? Think you can just run off with it? Always too eager, always too simple.
He starts casting a spell.

322 cackles as she realizes who she was facing off against. "We've got plans for you, Mage. You'll be leaving with us, or at least a part of you will. The visitor said you were important," she threatens.
She uses her Interstellar Void power, Once per day as a standard action, 322 can cloak one target within 30 feet in the void of space, dealing the target 7d6 points of cold damage (DC 17 Fortitude half)., hitting the mage with the extreme cold of space.

Rataji moves around to the side of the door, and casts Lightning Bolt at Aram Zey, incidentally trying to shatter the glass case in the process, so as to clear a path for his allies to charge.
Lightning Bolt: 7d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 3, 4, 4, 6) = 26 Electricity damage (DC 18 Reflex save for half).
DM Kludde |
The glass case is the square part inside the white circle (the red parts are ropes, like in a museum). Can you draw a line for your lightning bolt? I don't think you can hit it and Aram Zey at the same time.
The_Experiment |
DM, after casting her spell, 322 will move 30' into the room, and north on the map, just trying to make it impossible for Aram to blast all of us with an AoE spell next round. MAybe 10' to the right, and then 20' to the north.

Excited to finally be free of the tapestry and have a chance to kill those keeping him there, The Ambitious quickly rushes forward and launches himself into the air, flying quickly toward the casting wizard.

The exeriment and the leader blast at the lanky wizard from afar. A whitish rime creeps up the wizard's leg as a bolt of lightning passes through him.
Marnarius and Gazwyr fly in, threatening the wizard both both sides. As Marnarius slices through the flesh of the wizard, he feels the blade cut all the way to the bone, and he also tastes the backlash of the vicious blade. Gazwyr eagerly sinks his fangs into the sinewy flesh, his mouth filling with the taste of blood.
The professional moves in, but she notices a pressure plate in the floor, just behind the entrance, that is sure to trigger something.
The experiment, not able to understand any warning, moves right over it and triggers the trap. Wire in the statues on both sides of the room spring taut, and bolt fly at her, piercing her legs, and covering her in a sticky, tangly substance.
Bolt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 241d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Bolt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 241d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
And entangled
Something seems off about the way Aram Zey reacts to all this pain. It looks like he is merely an illusion.
The wizard quickly casts another spell, spreading a brown burst of energy. A crackle of lightning then bursts out at Shohiraj, and rapidly jumps to Gazwyr and Marnarius.
Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 5, 3, 2, 2, 4, 1, 4, 6) = 35 RFX save for half, DC 23 for Shohiraj, 21 for Gazwyr, 19 for Marnarius

I didn't, so rolling now:

The slow is DC 20. Slowing after hasting cancels the haste.

Shohiraj curses as the brownish blast strips her magical speed from her. However there's little time to dwell on the loss as she is forced to dive to the side to narrowly avoid a bolt of lightning. Dusting herself off, she hears Rataji's call and curses again.

Though there are other ways to read it, I think the blinding/revealing effect of glitterdust is instantaneous, and the duration only tells you how long the blinding lasts. Marnarius was outside the spell's radius, and so isn't blinded.

Marnarius and the Dragon have no trouble finding the outlined shape of Aram Zey. Cor! Too many people, not enough temawork. the thief thinks to herself as she watches Aram Zey retaliate for Marnarius' biting hit by felling the elf. This is what the Consortium gets for lumping a bunch of randos together rather than a team of pros.
She hustles forward along the upper edge, drawing out a healing potion as she calls out. "Get around him and stop him from squirming away! And can anyone disrupt those Norfigit blasts?!?"
Move action to get closer, and other move to draw a CMW potion. Could try to toss it down to the Leader for 322 next round, or charge in if there's a flank possibility for sneak attack. See how his next turn goes.
DM Kludde |
The loss of blood weighin heavily on him, Marnarius strike out twice more at the pathfinder master. His first slash reaps the master: like an oar in the field he goes down, bleeding on the ground. A silver trail emerges from him as the life leaks from him, and when he finally bleeds out, it leaves him like a wisp of smoke swirling up from and extinguished candle. It changes direction and moves toward the experiment - and into her pocket.
Combat over!
