DM Kludde, I also have Trap Spotter. If the group likes, I can actively try to roll/take 20 for an obstacle (like this door), but I'm assuming I would have been making a check as I approached it or other things. Let me know if I should be running things differently.
DM Kludde |
Are you fine with taking 10 for trap spotter, or do you want me to roll? In general, I'll let people roll their own perception and disable rolls, and I'll try to remember trapspotter abilities, though I often forget them as well.
As expected, the society has trapped the door to their own vault. What is the life of a pathfinder when you have a vault full of relics to protect? The society stops at nothing in it ruthlessness. There ar two traps: both of them are magical, and seem to be quite high-powered, but between the band of Aspis agents, there is very little that stops them from disabling both.
The door opens up to a large vault. Rows of low shelves laden with scrolls, books, and the odd relic line this well-lit hall. At its far end stands a small fountain that emits a small amount of steam—enough to keep this dry room’s humidity constant. Six decorative columns, each one densely carved with animal imagery and fanciful whorls, stand along the walls, and a pair of lounging lizard statues rest on a dais at the north end of the room.
DM Kludde |
The experiment moves into the vault, with the rest of the group (I took the liberty of moving you all up), but only gets a few seconds before the stone lizards start moving. What's even worse, the column in the back of the vault turned out to be housing two chameleons, stealthily hidden in the stonework.

I assume the chameleons are living creatures. If not, I'll need to recon this action.
Gift of Madness (Su): 7 times per day as a standard action, 322 can tap into the unthinkable void between the stars to cause a single living creature within 30 feet to become confused for 7 rounds (DC 17 Will negates). This is a mind-affecting compulsion effect.

Therese are foo creatures, chameleons and frilled lizards. They are warden of temples and ceremonial vaults, coming to life when an intrusion so requires. When two of them are close together, they gain the benefits of protection from evil, and individually they can turn their hide to stone (as an immediate action, gains hardness). The lizard can charge in an intimidating fashion, while the chameleons have a tongue they can use to reel victims in. They're immune to disease, paralysis, poison and sleep. They're good-aligned extraplanar beasts
The vengeful fires two arrows, one of which goes wide while the other just bounces of the stony exterior of the statue.
Any action from the leader, or do you just stick to identifying?
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 34

The Pro |
I was always under the impression that the -20 penalty applied when you shot From stealth (or sniping), not if you fired while in plain view then ducked out of sight into a new area. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, just wanted to be clear as that'll influence how Shohuraj'll try to act this round to regain some momentum.
DM Kludde |
If people are observing you using any of their senses (but typically sight), you can't use Stealth. Against most creatures, finding cover or concealment allows you to use Stealth. If your observers are momentarily distracted (such as by a Bluff check), you can attempt to use Stealth. While the others turn their attention from you, you can attempt a Stealth check if you can get to an unobserved place of some kind. This check, however, is made at a –10 penalty because you have to move fast.
You'd get some kind of cover from the shelves (which gives partial cover). Some kind of distraction would be nice, as the one lizard is somewhat focused on you.
DM Kludde |
I'll give you a more detailed response to your pm later, it takes some time to write it up

Come on! Shohiraj grimaces to herself as the lizard bites through the shelf to score a nasty wound on her torso. Shaking her head, she looks around at the rest of the group. She smiles that the experiment has freed itself from the chameleon by the doorway, though the orc seems to be having some bad luck in felling it. Closer to her, the thief notices the archer valiently firing back at the chameleon that grabbed their ally, while their 'leader' seems to be paralyzed with indecision she notes with a snort.
Spying the fine blade at the archer's belt, a quick plan comes to her mind. She call out "Hey, grim and brooding! Draw and flank!" Shorhiraj yells this as she tries to roll through the lizard's legs to emerge behind it. "And Fearless leader - how about doing something to the guy behind me or else you're picking up the healing tab!"
