So, any plans for moving on?

"Lead on fearless leader....East I believe the old beggar said." As Cyrus exits the building he looks back a Shalya. Once outside he turns east and starts to walk deeper into the sewers.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Cast message on Cyrus.

<"Say it too much and she might get an ego. Haha">

"I'll promote you to navigator, Cyrus" Shayla replies, and follows after Cyrus. "Chyras, you'll be our diplomat."

"Now, we still need a medic and a wise elder?" Shayla looks at both Maxwell and Paru, but has a bit of doubt in her eyes.

Though.... they're human...

'owever girl, i know of someone who wouldn't be directed around like that. But she'll be absent for now.

Before leaving the sanctuary, Parumartish flips through his spell book again wanting to review a spell he feels may be useful later.

Filling that open slot now with Protection from Evil.

The Almsman’s directions lead to a heavy wooden door. A sign on the door is partially obscured by grime and moss, and the word “Skytower” is still barely legible.

"Wow...i 'ave never sen anytin like dis before...... Suffice to say, dis situation is screamin "trap" to me."

"I agree..." Shayla carefully looks around the room when she steps inside. She clasps her swords, ready to strike at whatever evil comes her way.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 +2 versus humans
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 +1 Tracks +2 humans

The crown of the charred corps bears the inscription Emperor Relios in a crude handwriting. Amidst the furniture is a desk, with several logs and journals. Many of them seem to be transaction log for a company called 'Relios Skytower's Emporium, with one exception: the personal journal of Relios, which notes the birth of his son Gandros, his personal life, his dealings with his many wealthy clients, his falling on hard times, his intention to sell back his way finder for funding. The ledgers also show he was selling large amounts of yellow cap mushroom (A hallucinogenic drug) to the pre-revolution high society of Augustana.

In the next room are vaults lined with shelves growing thick in yellow cap mushrooms. On the back wall, a large image of a portal is painted, a circle of swirling colour patterns. On the floor lies an open and empty scroll case, and a charred, blank piece of parchment.

"Would you look at de documents. Seems dis was an "emperor" alright, but one of drugs and trade. Per'aps de guy sayin to be a prince was right in a way, seems not the way we extected."

Picking up a lone paper,
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22, "Dis piece of paper, it's a used spellscroll, can't say what dough."

I'd almost tink the guy was caught by surprise.
"Not that i doubt the martial prowess of any of you, but maybe it's time to call my girl over 'ere. Give me 1 minute."

Chyras starts making several signs, glowing symbols as a glow eminates from the ground.
A humanoid shape becomes visible.

A humanoid of graceful features but with sharply clawed hands stands before the group.
Looking at Chyras, "Took you long enough."

Seeing the others, "Who are they?"

Does my latest Perception oll cover the DC 15, or do I have to roll a new one? If a new one's required, here you go:

Shayla looks at the eidolon with a confused expression. "I'm Shayla, and you? Where'd you come from just now?"

Looking at the elf girl asking the first question, Alanya casually responds.

"I am Alanya, as to your 2nd question, i come from what Chyras just made on the floor."

Which is likely gone by now, the summoning being completed.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Parumartish enters the room and looks around. Searching the desk, he finds the personal journal of this "Emperor" Relios and begins to flip through it. "This seems to be this man's personal journal. He was apparently some sort of drug kingpin... I suppose we should take this back with us at least.

Paru looks over as Chyras picks up the charred parchment. "Yes, I believe that part was obvious from the discarded scroll case."

Suddenly, he stops and holds up a hand. "There is something in that vault," he says, pointing to the westernmost one.

"Show yourself!" Shayla walks over to the vault. She keeps a distance of 10 feet from the vault, and readies her swords to strike. "There's no need for us to fight. Show yourself, and tell us who you are."

Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Entering the room, Max begins to look around.
"Well, we found the long lost "Emperor". Perhaps these yellow cap mushrooms are the reason that our strange homeless prince is so confused."
He nods in agreement to what Chyras says about the piece of paper.
What is he doing on the floor?
As the figure of a young woman emerges he takes a step back, obviously not expecting that to happen.
Well, I have head of summoners before, just never thought I would see one. Um, hello there."

Once Parumartish brings the vault to attention, he moves to stand to one side of it. As Shayla begins to boisterously belt out commands he cringes slightly as the thought of giving away their location to a possibly hostile creature of unknown origins, her lack of diplomacy makes it a little worse. [i]By the mercy of Sarenrae, this woman is brazen as brass but twice as thick sometimes. However she is good in a fight, I'll grant her that.[/]

Alanya nods politely at Maxwell.

Hothan and Freedom ready themselves for combat.

The ruckus made by Shayla causes the sounds from the other room to increase, and three otherworldly creatures appear. These must be the dark assassins that the Prince spoke of...

Cyrus snaps to action when Shayla yells a warning into the other room. Stepping into the doorway he attacks the center creature with his polearm.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7

Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Cyrus' polearm stab is easily avoided by the creature, which Parumartish knows to be demonic. These creatures are extremely dangerous, with the ability to summon more of their kind. Another thing Parumartish notices as that these Dretches don't behave quite the way they should. They seem to be affected by some kind of trans-planar atrophy that diminishes their abilities.

Seeing Cyrus step up to block the choke point, Parumartish steps past Maxwell and Chyras to cast an abjuration, warding the warrior from evil.

Paru casts protection from evil on Cyrus.

Whirling to see what is happening, Max sees the dark figures appear in the next room. Watching Cyrus move to cover the doorway with his weapon, Max moves to his right hand side (one space up from him) to be ready to attack anyting that tries to come inside his range.
It's so crowded in here, hardly any room to get around!
He taps Cyrus on his shoulder as he gets into position, letting the fighter know that he is there. "I'll cover you if they get close, dont worry!"

Shayla stares at the demons with a frown on her face. "What the heck are those?"

"Demons of the Abyss called 'Dretches'," Parumartish answers. "If there were more space in this room, I would suggest we spread ourselves out, but it does not seem we have that option."

Can someone post an action for Hothan? Hothan himself perhaps ;-)

Even if he would move, Max and Paru stand in the way to get up close.The tight space limits actions.

Hothan looks at his eagle companion.
"If one of those things comes near Cyrus, aid him, make noise to try to get it's attention, but stay well out of reach."

The eagle gets off his shoulder, circling small circles above Hothan.

What's the current map like? Cyrus moved 5 feet west, and Paru is where Cyrus first was?

As far as i can tell, Max is below Cyrus and Paru above Cyrus.

It's the other way around, but Hothan could have taken Max's spot since he has the high initiative and Max is actually after the dretches.

if he would prefer that spot he can have it. I would change my action to accommodate that

The angry demons move up to Cyrus, who manages to stab one with his pole arm before a blur of claws descends onto him, scratching his armor and raking his flesh.

Cyrus is reeling from the creatures attacks. Dropping his polearm, pulling his shield out and bracing into defensive position he trys to hold his ground.

Total Defense +4 AC

Chyras casts acid splash on the Dretch in front of Cyrus.

"Dis might burn a little."

Would daze be valid on this thing? If so Chyras would cast daze on the Dretch.

Alanya moves loose her claws.

Unable to get anywhere just yet, she takes in air.
She lets it out in a high scream;

If all of those uglies can reach Cyrus from their postion, so can I reach at least one of them!

Taking a five-foot step west, Shayla gets in reach of the demon in front of the entrance. Shayla sheaths her short sword while moving, and swings her longsword with both hands. "Hya!"

Longsword, two-handed: 1d20 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 3 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

While Cyrus is making sure none of the demons get through, a blob of acid hits the ceiling overhead. Shayla take a two-handed long-sword swing, and proves that the extra-planar creature can be banished: a single, heavy stroke sends the middle demon back to the Abyss!

sorry for not paying closer attention to the initiative order before. Just disregard that whole previous post

Max allows Shayla to move forward and quickly moves to the position that she just vacated. He glances at the deep scratches in Cyrus and winces.
Not being able to directly help in the fight, he quickly weighs his options and decides that he can at least help the injured half-elf.

Max reaches out to infuse the fighter with positive energy, healing his wounds and easing his pain with a quick prayer. He casts Cure Light Wounds, losing his Holy Shield spell in the process.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
I know there is some question of the amount of damage he's taken, but he needs heals regardless :)

"Woohoo!" Shayla exclaims cheerfully. "Just two ugly Dobbies left here!"

Can someone post actions for Parumartish and/or Hothan?

Parumartish, having done what he could for Cyrus, moves back away from the dretches to conjure a splash of acid.

Parumartish finally conjures some acid. Despite the extremely difficult angle, she still manages to hit one of the demons.

The demons scrape and slash, and try to hit the single fighter that is visible to them, but to no avail.

He flicks his fingers, conjuring up another blob of acid, tossing it towards the dretch.
