Lasaraleen cannot get a clear look at the intruders, but trusts her front line fighters are handling them.

Iago, are you ok after that cut?

She looks at Guillaume in dismay.

"I fear I have nothing to help for that mess, Guillaume. Fight on if you can, and I will be ready to heal should either of you need it.

She will sheath her blade and draw her CLW wand to have ready should the fighters need it.

Guillaume curses as the sticky goop glues him in place, you rotten, dirt-encrusted, before he makes a feeble attempt to break free.

D'lack reloads his heavy crossbow.

I'm short in spells.

"These chumps? We got this guys. Right, big buddy?" looking up at the guardian with a smile.

The team stands ready, while Guillaume tries to pull free of the goop.

Having seen the effectiveness of the glaive wielder, the invaders don't seem keen on getting in his range.

Rather they take advantage of the situation and attack from range.

The one who threw a tanglefoot bag reverts to his bow, firing at Guillaume

His companion with the nasty looking whip changes targets and tries to use it on Iago.

The guardian readies himself for another pass while kobolds fire a couple of crossbows out from behind you.

In the distance you can hear the sound of more feet approaching.

Oberon fires another missile, this time at the red one.

"Pew! Pew!"

M.Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Guillaume struggles some more against the nasty goop.

He's improving

Iago replies "I'm ok. Looks like our friends don't want to get close. That's alright" he comments sumgly, laying his greataxe down "I'll send out invitations."

Firing at Mrs Whip-a-lot.

"Darling, stop moving, it's making you look bigger than you are." he shouts at his intended target.

"And I mean that in the nicest way possible. Might I suggest eating ... less?"

Lasaraleen will tag Iago once with her cure wand.

Less chatter will help your aim, Iago. We must end this as they are doing more harm than good.

"Chatter is part of the game Lasaraleen! Much like in lovemaking, it can excite and cause emotions to flare. Although you might be right in this case; I would not want to be accused of trying to bed this one."

Oberon tags the red one with a magical missile. She doesn't look too hot now. Guillaume seems pretty solidly stuck. It's going to make a messs of those boots that will take some time to polish out.

Iago trades bow fire, but can't see to hit anything other than the wall. Luckily for him Lass manages to hit him with a small heal.

D'lack fires his crossbow.

But the bolt vanishes into darkness

The bowman continues to fire at Iago Who is luckily threatened by the whip user and thus counts as in melee

The whip-woman snarls "You'll have to practise more." before turning her weapon on Guillaume again
attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 2 = 13 The imobile fighter is an easy target, but the whip wielder doesn't look so well. Maybe a poisoned bolt from an earlier battle with the kobolds is causing problem.

From behind them you hear the sound of more figures appraoching. The only bright spot being cries of distress- presumably from their meeting Stink-eye.

The guardian decides you have the current foes in hand and streaks off to help with those who are yet to arrive.

GM, not that I'm against not getting hit, but whips do not threaten. I just had to read up on that

"Yeah... I won't comment on your teeth then darling."

Although there are some feats which allow you to threaten with a whip .

"This is taking too long...more are coming. Guys we need to take the fight to them! "

She rushes up to the whip woman and hacks with her scimitar

This is a scorpion whip, not a regular one. I thought it would threaten but looks like I am wrong. They are a wierd item that actaully the game would be better without, so why they picked that particular one for an NPC is beyond me.

Oberon continues to whittle away at the archer in red. Iago tries to return fire, but his aim is off. Probably the excitement of hearing more shrieks from the darkness as whoever is out there discovers the joys of playing with the golden guardian.

Lass charges in, slashing at the whip wielder and drawing blood.

Crick, crick, crick. D'lack continues to wind.

The archer in red steps back and drinks a potion

The whip woman, faced with an oponent in close combat ignores her whip and tries to thrust her torch into Lassaraleen's face

But the attempt is feeble.

"They are coming, they are coming" cry the kobolds, and indeed, in the distance you can make out more shapes approaching.

the scorpion whip threaten around a 5ft. reach and is treated as a whip further

D'lack tries to shoot pink.

Oberon moves up a bit, pulling something out of his cloak, and throws an alchemist fire at the red head.

D'lack shoots... and hits. The torch/whip woman looks in a bad state. When the splash of fire covers her, she looks even worse.

Las drops the torch wielding woman to the ground, her life blood slowly draining down the old stone corridor.

Iago bites back a curse; seeing Lasaraleen in the thick of the action, he drops his bow. "Shrewd Oberron, could you hold on to those? The bow was expensive, and I'm really attached to that greataxe. It make for a wonderful pacifier." he quips with a grin in the elf's direction before moving into the fray, drawing the magical sword they found earlier. Here's to hoping Sharrowsmith doesn't buy useless weapons.

It's a longsword, and that's all I know. Iago grabs it with both hands. I'll let you apply the appropriate modifiers.

"Apologies. I should have greeted you in person." he barks, smiling as the blade whistles through the air. Where's a shield when you need one?

For the purposes of this scenario it is a +1 longsword, details are on the chronicle about extra powers and how it can be enhanced. Also whip woman is down, so I assume Iago is going for the archer

Iago advances and with one quick blow with the magical sword knocks the archer to the ground where she lies unmoving.

Dang - she dropped with that wimpy cut? She was closer to down than I thought!

Guillaume proceeds continues scraping the goo off him

Guillaume manages to finish scraping himself free.
As the last of the attackers drops, a few more come out of darkness, leading with arrows.

However their attacks are off, probably something to do with the wounds they seem to be sporting.

Guillaume, slowed by the sticky goop, waits until the spot near Iago is free, then positions himself to strike at anyone who would advance.

Will take Lasaraleen's spot if she is so kind as to step aside

"I could do this all day!" laughs the elf.

Then shoots the lady in blue with some missiles.

"Ha Ha!!

Guillaume stands ready while the others fire missile weapons... or load them.

Iago readies himself for the next wave of interlopers. "Come out, come out!"

The blue archer fires an arrow at Iago

For a moment it looks bad, but it is just a face wound, they always bleed a lot. Then the green one steps up and throws a tanglefoot bag.

Then, in the middle of the kobolds area, a giant appears. He wears light armor and wields a vicious looking longspear which he uses to thrust at Oberon.

Guillaume moves over to take a stab at the giant.

D'lack takes a 5ft. step toward the giant man, hoping to be out of reach inside is 10ft. non reach and casts his last spell.

Oberon 5ft steps toward the door, casts a magic missile down the hall at the woman in green, and then dodges beside his comrades in the hallway.

"Now giants? What is going on here? I might be out of my league here.

Already wounded, and hampered by his size, the giant cannot avoid the flames of D'Lack's wrath. He burns....Falling to the ground and shrinking back to a normal sized man as he does so.

Oberon delivers another magical missile into the bowmen.

From the sounds further down the passage, it would appear to Guardian is dealing with other threats at the moment.

Lasaraleen yells out a cheer.

Yippee! Way to go guys! Let's finish these last ones and hope there are no more...or our winged guardian is handling them.

Lasaraleen will move up and throws a bolt of fire at the closest thug within her sight.

As the giant goes down the last two opponents look on in horror. Quickly checking with each other they turn and flee the complex, to the hoots and jeers of the assembled kobolds, who now seem much braver than before.

The guardian flaps back.

"My thanks for helping to defend this place from those interlopers. "

He states. "Now, we can continue our conversation"
