[PFS] Blake's Gallows of Madness, Part I (Inactive)

Game Master Blake's Tiger

Handouts & Maps

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I will be recruiting for the module, Gallows of Madness, Part 1, for the second portion of Game Day VI. It is a level 1-3 module and Evergreen for level 1.

FYI: If you've played at level 2+, you must play at level 1 now. If you play this now at level 2+, you lock out any other characters playing it at level 2+.

Due to the longer nature of modules and the amount of role-play in this particular module, I am going to use application recruiting.

Post your interest and links to aliases or posts that are representative of your play style.

I will need a minimum of 1 post per day, including weekends.
I will need clear communication of foreseen absences and as prompt as possible notification of unforeseen absences (even if that's just a PM saying, "Lost internet").

I will take 6 to be determined on 9/14/17.

Interested, will have to make new PC for this though.

My favorite PC that I've RPed

Something more recent.

Bet!

Grand Lodge

This is Tarondor. I'm interested. Will post more details later today.

Dark Archive

I've played Part III of this, but never I or II, therefore I offer my level 3 Psychic (based loosely on a certain cult-favorite supervillain of Freakazoid! fame, to give you an idea)!

However, I've also got a level 1 thief (not just any "Rogue" - a THIEF!) who could also apply.

They're both kind of devil-may-care tricksters and rapscallions, though in their own different ways.

The Exchange

Yarr.

Pirate Rob here.

Zeldana has played parts 2 & 3 and is level 3 and waiting to play part 1. (Her online profile is behind the times, but she's now a level 3 psychic.)

I am currently in another pbp for part 1 that I expect to wrap up in the next week or so.

Here is an amusing post from that character in p1.

I have not yet played p1 above level 1 and I have neither read nor GMed it.

I could also bring a couple different level 1 characters if needed for a better fit.

Yes, yes, I'm very interested! I bought this module almost as soon as it came out but wanted to wait til I've played it before GMing. Through very bad luck, have not managed to get into any of the games thus far. :(

Hmm, I think this game of Bid for Alabastrine is probably the one that I most managed to get into character. Definitely, it could only haved happened because of the incredible GM and rest of the players, that the characters clicked. Meet Bambang, son of Kuwat, heir to the chieftain of the Menguam Singa clan of Tengah Pulu, Emerald Isle of the Minata Archipelago. He was doubled destined to be a great leader, son of one of the greatest warrior and of one of the most powerful medicine woman the tribe have had for many years. Instead, he gave that up to travel the world, eventually joining the Pathfinder Society, to understand the strange gifts that had been bequeathed onto him. Did a quick scan through, and quite liked this particular post.

Of the characters suitable for this game, I have a L1 Kyonin elven arcanist, Takumi Kamizo, of the occultist archetype, who as a paper sculptor, summons monsters by folding origami as the material components, like this. He is just finishing Dreng's fetch quest (The Wounded Wisp). If we need someone more stealthy, there is Brooaka 'Duskglider', the grippli who joined the Alkenstar army to forge alliances so as to rejuvenate his dwindling tribe, becoming trained as a respected sniper along the way, i.e. L2 gunslinger (hence the moniker 'duskglider'). Or my poor unfortunate wayang alchemist, Umbrutari Shadnani, waiting to be "reborned", who died as silently and discreetly as he had lived, gored to death by a minotaur when he got too close trying to save his halfling mentor. :)

While having no bearing on the application process, I just wanted to say, man, do I like that concept a lot. :)

You might like the movie "Kubo of the Two Strings." Kubo is basically this, except he's a bard.

I've played one of the parts at level 2 so I'd have to make a new character. Contemplating.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I haven't played any of the parts of this module. I have a couple of level one characters that I can bring to the table.

A couple of examples of Roleplay below:

Iolana Altumas - Crimson Throne

Shera Dionas - PFS Murder's Mark

Silver Crusade

I have this newish druid, still first level that would be interested!

The Exchange

Hi! This is Tarondor. I'm offering this Transmuter wizard 1 instead of Voronwë of Riverspire. I think I'd prefer to try something different and Aldarion is built to become a Master Transmorgrifist - a melee wizard. Should be interesting in a few levels. :-)

I'm interested! Sadly I've only got 1st and 2nd level characters available for this as my one 3rd level is already booked for a game in Session #2. The exact character I would bring would likely vary depending on the rest of the party. With that said, here are a few posts that should express my play style:

Serious/Introspective Moment (Mummy's Mask)

Something Silly (PFS-Blood Under Absalom)

A Moment of Friendship (Shackled City)
______

1 post/day, even weekends, shouldn't be a problem for me though my work schedule varies enough that said post can happen at pretty much any time of the day or night. Thanks for the consideration! :)

Okay, I've accepted another GMing obligation for Session #2 of Gameday. With already having 3 games as a player on the docket and now 2 to GM instead of just 1, this unfortunately means that I'm going to need to withdraw my interest for this game for the sake of my sanity. Good luck to the selected and I hope you all have a great game! :)

Dot for interest. Might make a character for this.

I have a level 1 cleric (positive channeling and bad touch focus) and a level 1 melee occultist. Both are fresh out the box (this would be their first game). Should this be a problem, I have others that could play at a higher level.

Do you plan on taking this beyond part 1? If so, what is the minimum level for each part?

Examples of my posts:

Post during introductions.

Post while the party is planning.

Push post to get things rolling.

More planning RP.

Scolding other characters for their rudeness towards nobles.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I have never played this module before, just an fyi. I have no ooc knowledge of it other than the blurb on the paizo site.

I have a couple of 1st level characters I could play this with, a first level ratfolk alchemist, a 1st level vanara kineticist, or perhaps even a 2nd lvl ratfolk cavalier... depends on who is available when GD VI pt 2 starts, also depending on what the party needs.

a character introduction

example of roleplay

thanks for your consideration.

@ Gummy Bear: For GD VI, I will only be running Part 1. I will wait until I see how Part 1 goes before making plans on the other parts. All are Level 1 with adjustments for APL 2 or 3. So minimum 1, maximum 3.

Dark Archive

Would a 3rd-level character get out-of-Tier gold or something like that?

Liberty's Edge

Combing through the tasking orders for missions still in the planning phase, Krieger pulls aside a passing Venture-Officer. "Is there still a vacancy on the team heading to the Isgeri town of Saringallow?"

"The legacy of Chelish diabolists runs deep there. The recent disappearance of several apprentices, the goblin menace, and the rumors about the old Sarini Estate sound ominous. Mayor Sandra Trinelli needs help to stem the looming tide of darkness."

I enjoy a fast-paced game with lots of action and role-play. Krieger's a Vigilante Avenger-2

Examples of Krieger/The Foreigner in PbP here.

Larry Smith
aka Krieger
aka GM Lorenzo

@ Xanac: The Tier is 1-3, so you'd get In Tier.

Dark Archive

Okey-dokey. A previous comment had me confused.

I keep looking back at this, and then remembering we're not expecting anything until the 14th

There were a lot of good applications, and I appreciate the interest. The decision was ultimately subjective and a lot harder than I expected. Only six get to go (it is an Evergreen, so I'll do it again if all goes well, hopefully after running Part 2 and Part 3).

Game will start October 9th, as I've had terrible results starting on Fridays.

Anyhow, no putting it off any longer, in no particular order:

Pirate Rob
CariMac
JAF0
kuey
Lady Ladile
Gummy Bear

If you've applied and one of the above cannot make it, you may be hearing from me to fill in the spot.

Module Discussion Thread

Ooh...as much as I appreciate the selection, I'd mentioned here that I needed to bow out of the running in order not to let myself get overbooked; must've gotten lost in the shuffle. I do hope the other selected and whoever takes my spot have a great game, though! :)

OK, I had read that and forgotten.

I'm Hiding in Your Closet, you're in.

My dream is to fly. I would often stare longingly after the hawks I would tend for the nobles in Taldor. There was just always an itch inside of me that yearned to chase after them into the skies. After the my third employer sent me away for daydreaming more than mucking the cages I found myself homeless living in the forests outside the city. One morning one of my old charges, a Hawk named Kizen was perched in a branch above my meager camp. I tried to sho it back to it's master. Three days and the bird still hadn't left. I couldn't stay in the area any longer. If anyone happened to find some vagabond in the woods with his former master's falcon I would be thrown into the city prison for sure.

I made my way to Absalom. I had heard of a group of people who might have need for a falconer. They didn't just want me, they threw me in with their new recruits with a new name: Haana. With the Pathfinder Society at my back I may achieve my goal of soaring with Kizen one day.

(OOC) My name is Derek, I live in the mountains in Colorado (Mountain Time Zone) so far in the mountains that our internet is at times as slow as dial-up (think "The Shining"). This makes most gaming online impossible, heck I can't even stream a video on Netflix. The internet works... for things like email, facebook, ect. anything with a video takes a lifetime to load. I just learned about PbP and am pretty excited about it. I am not entirely sure how it works, but can learn as I go or before the scenario starts as much as I can! I play PFS once a week at a "local" game store. I say local, but I have to drive an hour each way to play. It isn't always ideal, and although I do really enjoy the group, and will probably continue playing there even if PbP works out well, I would like to play more than once a week, and I can't justify making the drive twice per week to play.

My character is a Sylph (F) Ranger (falconer)- Sorcerer, in that order for now, but I might take more levels in Sorcerer in order to get the fly spell. I enjoy heavier roleplaying games more than heavy combat. I am not opposed to combat, it is better by far than not playing at all. I am excited to try roleplaying online as I feel I am a stronger writer than I am a verbal communicator. I was part of a collaborative story writing forum in highschool that I really enjoyed and feel like Roleplaying online could be a neat experience similar to that.

are there still open places?
