Feel free to start introducing your characters!
The annual Torchbearing, one of the most distinguish events held at the grand lodge, has kept you busy these last three days. Pathfinder's from all over the globe, even the multiverse, have come to participate to build repertoire and share knowledge.
A little bit of talks and inspiring speeches were held by the Master of Scrolls, Master of Spells, and Master of Swords. A few simple teambuilding exercises here and there by a few Venture Captains. And not to mention the after hours drinking that has kept all the nights extremely lively. A corporate getaway at it's best it seems.
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
I am currently still without a computer, so might have some difficulty posting. Hopefully not too much.
A young man wanders in, but oddly one that seems both dressed and acclimated more to the lifestyle of a mage than a priest. Looped across his shoulder is an elaborate sash, and handing from it a sleeping bat, his Familiar, Night's Star.
A simple sling, along with a pouch of bullets hangs from his belt, ready for easy access if needed, but his most important weapon, and shield, is the large tattoo of his faith he displays proudly upon his face, that of a nude female silhouette dancing before a bright moon. The tattoo is designed with the moon around his eye like a ring, but also incorporating the eye lid so that when that eye is shut, the full moon can still be seen. Ashava, the moon dancer and spirit speaker.
Torrel is an exorcist, one who seeks out the spirits of the departed to help them on their way or to force them away from harming the living should the be too far lost.
Lilianna Thraller |
Having a wonderful time with her new friends and having some drink swirling through her head, she spots Torrel. What is on his face? "You there!" she says with a smile as she points her hand. "Come join us and have a drink! Tell me, what does the art on your face mean? I've never seen anything quite like it!"
Clearly a cleric of Sarenrae, her angelic ankh hangs by her side. Her clothing is designed for warm weather and consists of flowing blue and gold cloth.
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
Not accustomed to being called out or pointed at, Torrel cocks an eye at the woman, though seeing her smile, he knows it wasn't meant to be rude and joins her, though he refrains from intoxication, requesting only water and simple foods, bread, cheese and the like.
"I suppose it was a gift from my parents, though I didn't think my face was that ugly." he says with a mock pouting face. "Oh, the tattoo,. . ."
"It is the symbol of my faith, milady of the flame. I had it commissioned, for many reasons. Firstly, I wanted to see the world through the eyes of the divine, and while this is only a symbol, albeit a painful one, I feel it helps me to remember that the material world, the needs of the now, are only a small fraction of all that is."
"I tend to be called on when darkness is stronger. When there is no light, no candle to be seen. I felt that perhaps wearing my weapon out in the open would allow me to always remember just what is my truest strength." With a softer voice, "I also kind of liked it."
"I am Torrel. And you dearest?"
Seren's Seven |
"A tattoo?" There's a heavy bang as the table Torrel and Lilianna are at suddenly shudders. A moment later there's a groan of pain preceding a fumbling hand reaches over the edge. Seren drags herself up to kneeling, rubbing the back of a head covered in a pale blue striped night cap. It quickly becomes clear that her entire wardrobe is put together as if she'd just fallen through a half-dozen wardrobes earlier in the day.
Everything from one military grade boot matched with a merchant's shoe to an oversize man's vest pulled over a woman's blouse. There is no careful presentation here except the series of scarves tied about her neck, head, and each limb. She sits there nursing her small wound for a minute where it might become obvious there's an absolutely random collecting of gear set around a travel bag beneath the table that belongs to her as well.
When she manages to finally get a look at the pair she stares at each of their faces, then her eyes widen at the symbol on Torrel. "Holy... you have to help me!" She springs up as if shocked, revealing the pair of holy symbols tied at her waist. One of them is a match for Torrel's tattoo.
"I had this crazy dream a few years ago... No not now, not now." She bats at the air by her shoulder and gives it a glare, the expression flicking back to hope as she focuses again. "Of this dancing moon lady, said I could help people and spirits find their way. I said sure... why not. But now I keep finding them, and they keep following me, but I can't make them go away!" To accentuate the point she flails wildly with her arms at the air around her. "And they never shut up! What do I do?"
Lilianna Thraller |
Lilianna laughs heartily at the joke about his face."I am Lilianna Thraller. We are similar, in a way. I use the Dawnflower's divine radiance to bring the strength of the sun to dark places. Especially when riddled with undead," she explains, taking a long sip of her drink.
"Which of the divine do you serve? I must admit that I've never seen such a symbol," she confesses. A little embarrassing, but that's what I get for focusing so much of my study on the destruction of the undead..."
Lilianna gawks a little at the newcomers sudden outburst. By the Divine, what is she going on about? I hope Torrel understands more.

How cute! One that destroys the dead, liberates the dead, and cursed by the dead!
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
"Have you tried listening to them? I do not sense darkness, but loss. Perhaps in helping others you might find you are helping yourself." he replies, unsure just what to think of the new lady just yet.

And to Lilianna, "I follow the path that Ashava walks, but I serve all in need. Like you, I focus on the dead, and am often called to lay those to rest that have died, and still continue on, but also on helping others that are simply caught or confused."

And we're on to the main event!
The fourth and final day of training has come to a close at the Grand Lodge of Absalom, heralding the end of this year's Torchbearing. You've met an interesting group of Pathfinders, as well as many many more that came from all over the world attend this annual symposium to share their knowledge, teach each other new skills, and reinforce their connections across the Inner Sea and beyond. To celebrate the end of festivities, the lodge has hosted a grand banquet in the visiting agents' honor. A refreshing winter breeze blows through an open window, flickering torches and sending papers scattering. The smell of freshly baked desserts fills the air while initiates clear away the remnants of the first course.
During the annual Torchbearing, the Three Masters, along with other notable Pathfinders, taught a variety of seminars and panel discussions, from Golarion’s history to spellcasting techniques, and ran obstacle courses and a triathlon. Rumor has it, Janira Gavix offered an unauthorized but popular filking class for aspiring bards and other social misfits under 30--inches, not years. You also heard some salacious gossip about an exclusive, late-night VIP experience Zarta Dralneen arranged for some her favorites. According to one hungover Pathfinder who claimed to have been there, a disgruntled Drandle Dreng was turned away at the door.
Speaking of the imp, ever the social butterfly and self-appointed mentor-to-the-masses, the halfling bard Janira Gavix approaches your small group. “Hi, friends. It’s been awhile since last we met. Have you enjoyed the Torchbearing? I volunteered to organize all the classes again this year. Kreighton Shaine always said I should have been a teacher. Did you learn anything useful?”
Janira looks over her shoulder as she catches sight of another group of Pathfinders refilling their tankards at the grog bowl. “Oh, those are some more students of mine!” She bounces on her toes as she waves at the group and they wave back. “Excuse me? I’ll need to check in with them too!” Pleased that you appreciated her pedagogical efforts, she excuses herself with a smile and moves on.
Each of you should choose one skill. For the duration of this adventure, you will either treat it as a class skill or gain a +1 bonus on checks with that skill if it was already a class skill.

Seren's Seven |
"Of course I have!" She heaves an exasperated sigh, grabs a portion of the air in both her hands, and holds it between them all like she's presenting a pet. "They just try and take me to crazy places to do weird things. And I get funny looks, and they never go away. Just ramble about nonsense and give me advice I don't want." She gives Lilianna a look. "It's why I wanted to talk to him, Ashava's got all these ghosts following me, I thought he'd be able to make them go away..."
Her head is cocked to listen to something and she looks faintly embarrassed. "Oh, I'm Seren by the way." Arms crossed, she offers a hand to each of the pair.
When Janira approaches she grows quiet at first, then rambles on about a session she sat in on with Captain Benarry on how to spot conmen and pickpockets in a port. After the halfling wanders away in distraction she leans into the table, hides her mouth with a hand and stage whispers. "I have -no- idea who that is."
Going to take a bonus to perception, so +1!

Due to time difference, we're going to push ahead. We've got a bits of a big introduction!
As the Pathfinders settle themselves comfortable throughout the festivities. As they conclude the dessert course, a small origami swan flutters through the room and lands on the center of the table. In moments, it unfolds itself into a crisp and crease-less piece of paper.

"Nice to meet you both. I am Torrel. Interesting to be called here for the Torchbearing. Its not something Im normally interested in. Rumors Ive heard is it is a way for the Society to scout out some of it's nest agents."
"Of course, I have also heard that some of those agents tend to vanish for a few hours before suddenly reappearing as if nothing had happened. Some think they are being given a special test, some talking with the Ten, and all sort of stories."

Lilianna Thraller |
This Ashava sounds like a strange one. Helps one person free spirits and then turns around and shackles them to someone else?
"I know we don't want to ruin a relationship with Nigel and his lot, but come on!" She sighs a little and stands up, finishing her drink. "That's a summons though, and from Ambrus, no less." Without another word, Lilianna heads for the main hall of Skyreach. She looks over her head and calls back, "Are you all coming?"

Hangust |
A halfling, dressed mostly in furs, had been watching the three religious types from a nearby table, a smile on his face as he drinks, legs swinging happily from the edge of his chair.
When the origami note flutters in he can no longer contain his curiosity and rushes over to the table, climbing up to a chair to read it.
"Hi, I'm Hangust!" He says absentmindedly while looking over the note.
When the cleric asks if he's coming the halfling smiles back at her and hops right back to the floor.
"Of course!" Eagerly he moves to her side, bouncing on his heels as the others decide.
Untrained in any knowledge skills, I know I can get a dc10, untrained but with my limited time I'll forgoe the rolls at the moment. Will take a +1 to Acrobatics.

As the other Pathfinders chat amongst themselves, a small creature emerges from the shadows of the room, where he had been intently studying the others. Those not paying attention probably didn't even know anyone else was there. The small wayang is just over 3 feet in height, and covered in an old grey cloak. His features are tough to make out, as his face always seems to be covered in shadow. When he begins to talk, it comes out as a low gravelly whisper "Hmmph, always trouble at Blakros. Cursed by Razeros, hmph? Don't know."
I'll take the bonus to Disable Device
Seren's Seven |
Seren seems momentarily confused by several people coming out of the woodwork and flying pieces of origami settling on the table. The latter of which she takes no responsibility for. "Uh hey guys, you all part of the fun, too?" She peers down at the shorter two in particular, bending down to give them a closer look that she tries to hide by gathering up all of her belongings.
By the time she has everything in place it seems like she's ready for several weeks travel instead of a walk to the other side of the Grand Lodge. She pulls the nightcap she has off her head and gives Lilianna a joking bow that nearly sends her toppling under the weight of her supplies. She wobbles about, catches herself on the table, and plops her cap back on. "I'm okay... right, you all seem to know who Nigel is, and more about the museum besides the fact I think it's spooky. So I guess we better go, right?"
She quicksteps to catch up to the cleric, having half a discussion with herself over whether she needs to practice balancing more.
Night's Star |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
It seems that talk of the Blakros Museum was just what it takes as the small bat hanging from Torrel's scarf seems to stir, blinking it's little black eyes and beginning to stretch from her hanging position.
"Squeek, squeak."
Torrel rolls his eyes, not approving, but knowing she will not assist without her "superhero costume", he places a miniature hallowing-style mask over the bat's face, designed to look like a comically childish skeleton, plus a tiny riding saddle with bags, bat-goggles worn atop her head, and her own tiny holy symbol.
This has absolutely no effects, it's just a tiny mask, saddle, smoked goggles, and holy symbol for fun. Night's Star is really not a combat Familiar, but does have Blind Sense and Low-Light Vision.
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
"This is interesting. Night's Star does not sense any of your, . . . friends. Are you certain it is not, how do I say this,. . . all in your head?" the priest says, with an honest look of concern mixed with interest.
Varuna Varghese |
"Hmmph, met girl once. Had spirit of dead friend with her. Junia, hmmph. Nice girl, ok spirit. Maybe like you."
Kitajo Uchihide |
There are many paths to perfection. If yours is with a spirit to assist you then so be it. The path is long and can be lonely. A companion would make it less so, I suppose.
GM Batpony |
We should be starting the next part any time now. Do make your preps, purchases now if required before heading to the museum.
Seren's Seven |
"I ain't crazy." She huffs softly marches along with as pride as her choice of attire allows, which isn't much. "They make it bloody annoying, is what they do. Sooner I can figure out how to make them leave, the better. There's always more bugging me." She does perk up slightly when Varuna speaks of Junia. "Oh, I know her! Seen her about a few times. We talk a lot, but we aren't quite the same. Her ghost is pretty nice, though. You her friend, too?"
GM Granta |
The front doors of Skyreach burst open with a loud crack. Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin strides to the edge of the platform, with a slender elf dressed in practical but expensive clothing trailing meekly behind. The red-faced venture-captain addresses the crowd in a booming voice.
“Pathfinders, I regret interrupting the festivities, but we have something of a situation. Approximately twenty minutes ago, unknown forces invaded the Blakros Museum. Fortunately for everyone involved, the Torchbearing is about cooperation and helping our colleagues, so let’s think of this less as an inconvenience and more as an opportunity to practice what we preach.”
The elf, Nigel, exhales sharply, then speaks, “Now, Ambrus, I’ve spent a king’s ransom fortifying the museum from all sorts of invaders: sentinels from the Golemworks, magical wards from the Arcanamirium, and even contracts for guard beasts, both magical and mundane—spared no expense. I didn’t want to come here, but I’ve got no choice.”
Valsin’s forced smile cracks slightly, showing his annoyance. “Out with it, Nigel. Get to the point.”
“Someone broke into my museum and set off the magical protections! I was preserving priceless Shining Crusade pieces for our new exhibit when the first alarm activated. I sent for district guards and went to investigate, but by the time I arrived, the thieves had already locked themselves in my study. They somehow caused the Shining Crusade relics to fly around the museum and attack my sentinels. Everything is going haywire! The magical traps started to target me, the sentinels are not responding to my commands, and—”
Valsin holds out a hand to steady the increasingly agitated elf. “The last you knew, the thieves were still in your study?” Nigel nods. “Very well. Pathfinders: the Seekers should prepare to teleport directly into the Blakros study—“
“That won’t work,” Nigel interrupts, “The study is magically sealed. After that dreadful Numerian exhibit, I turned it into a magical safe room. The robbers must have figured out how to activate it; no one can get in or out while the wards hold. I can work on breaking the wards, but meanwhile my sentinels are smashing up the collection. Some of those priceless relics are on loan from your own Society lodges, so helping me is really helping yourselves.”
“Fine.” Ambrus Valsin takes a deep breath and then turns to the assembled Pathfinders. “Pathfinders, go to the Blakros Museum, secure any relics you can, disable the security systems, and apprehend the looters if possible. Stay safe.”

Map is up in the link
Your merry festivities comes to an immediate halt, and soon the Pathfinders are lead on foot to the Blakros Museum, by no less than Amrbus Valsin himself.
Dozens of Wise District guards surround the Blakros Museum. The sergeant nods to Ambrus Valsin as he approaches, a subtle smirk dancing across the venture-captain’s face. The museum itself is alight with swirling whorls of color and the sounds of metal and stone clashing. Occasionally, brief flashes of light burst from the front entrance, illuminating a toppled banner that says “Legacy of the Shining Crusade.”
The sergeant, a broad-shouldered, middle-aged Ulfen man salutes; a somewhat bemused expression falls upon on his face. “Well met, Venture-Captain Valsin. I am Svaralk of Asleifar, Sergeant of the Learned Guard. The Guard appreciates your assistance.” He points to his subordinates, “Our initial attempt to quell the animated relics within failed. I’ve ordered the Guard to withdraw and form a perimeter.”
Ambrus Valsin returns the sergeant’s salute, a gesture of mutual respect. “You once served in Grand Prince Stavian III’s Ulfen Guard, did you not?”
Svaralk nods, “That’s right. Afterwards, I retired to Absalom and have served this city for seven years. This is not the first catastrophe I’ve responded to at the Blakros Museum, though none has been quite so dramatic as this. As if anyone needed further proof of the museum’s reputation for trouble.”
The Ulfen confides to the Venture-Captain, “After Nigel Aldain harangued me for dereliction of duty in not immediately retaking the museum, I’m in no rush to sacrifice the lives under my command until the warring creatures inside wear each other down.” He holds up a hand and shakes his head, “I don’t hold Nigel Aldain’s outburst against him. I recognize the elf is rightfully concerned—albeit rather precious—about his exhibit.”
Svaralk turns to your team of Pathfinders and says, “Before you enter, I can provide you an overview of the museum’s layout and tell you that there are animated relics and guard animals on the ground level, just beyond the doors in front of you and to your right. clockwork creatures skirmishing with each other on the floor above are causing havoc, they are destroying the whole floor! We also have an especially challenging problem in the gardens at the southeast corner of the museum grounds. Some kind of magical runes displaying swarm-like behavior, more magical devices really than living creatures. They proved too complicated a challenge for me and my guards; we simply lacked the skills to disable them.”
He thinks a while more, but is sure he's got all the information down. "What's your plan of attack then?"
Kitajo Uchihide |
Kitajo turns to the group. I have never been a great strategist. I prefer to go straight at the problem and neutralize it. What say the rest of you?
Seren's Seven |
Seren makes no effort to hide the yawn that breaks her face wide open while Svaralk and Ambrus have their conversation. The flickering colors and interesting sounds have a far greater impact and are quickly distracting her from the briefing. "Whole place sounds haunted, you sure it ain't ghosts?" She nudges the fallen banner with a toe just to make sure it wasn't going to jump up and bite them.
Kitajo's words get a grin from the young lady and she fumbles a pair of Tien style blades out of their sheaths at her waist, her grip on them an amateur's and he head tilted sideways to listen. "I like the way you think, buddy. We got 4 votes for going in the front and 3 for finding a way around over here. So that's 5 to 3 so far. Let's just go in and start knocking things over all systematical-like until it's quiet. Simplest is the best, harder to screw it up, yeah?."
Lilianna Thraller |
"Swarming magical devices sound like a problem I don't have the tools to solve. Let's march right in there and get cracking!"
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
“Now, Ambrus, I’ve spent a king’s ransom fortifying the museum from all sorts of invaders: sentinels from the Golemworks, magical wards from the Arcanamirium, and even contracts for guard beasts, both magical and mundane—spared no expense. I didn’t want to come here, but I’ve got no choice.”
Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
"I just hope it isn't anything like that last chronicle I read about this place. That was terrible. The other four though, that sounded epic. I got goosebumps just reading them. As for our plan, I simply suggest we take a look around. Heading through the front seems wisest, but let us see what we see."
Hangust |
"First the Convecation, and not the Torchbearing, everyone one of these Pathfinder events I come to gets interrupted." Hangust muses with a smile as he follows Valsin toward the Blakros Museum. Having never been there before, he eyes the sights and sounds of the warring parties with interest and excitement, both hands resting on his weapons.
"I don't know much about magic, but I can hit things really hard!" He says happily. "So lets just charge in!" He seems eager to follow the plan the others have pitched.
GM Batpony |
Svaralk and Ambrus look funnily at Seren's way, and start counting the number of pathfinders in the room. They make no sense of it. But as the group converses, it seems obvious that the plan of action is to head through the front doors. Svaralk motions his guards to be prepared to open the front doors, but at the same time, prepared to close it hastily.
"Give me the green light and the doors will be open." He addresses the group.
Hangust |
Hangust nods, drawing his weapons in advance and steps to the front of the group, ready to move at a moments notice.
GM Batpony |
Want to get us starting in initiative before I head to bed.
The rest of the pathfinders follow Hangust's advance towards the door. The soldiers immediately open the doors to reveal the chaos in the room before you in the museum. Under a sign that reads “The Shining Armory,” priceless Shining Crusade artifacts displayed on pedestals creak and move by some unseen force. Eerie light seems to dart between the objects while the din of a raging battle echoes throughout the chamber. The central feature is a low, artificial hill atop which stand two stuffed owlbears surrounded by shattered undead foes. Each of the beasts wears chainmail barding and an orange-and-black caparison depicting a stylized owlbear. A dead man dressed in furs lies on the floor before a suit of fullplate armor.
The other soldiers seem to be attending to the animated owlbears, two of the banners, seemingly as large as you (Medium Sized) find themselves roaming around freely and start to make a move towards the doors which opened.

"Ready and willing, bosses!" Seren gives a faux salute with one of her blades, an effort at a serious expression mashed onto her face. She clearly doesn't see wild museum exhibits as a cataclysmic event like often happens in Absalom.
"Showtime!" A breath before the doors start to open she begins to dance in place behind Hangust, twirling about so the moment the space is wide enough she slips right over his shorter stature in a small leap. As she moves she becomes eerily pale and her eyes roll back in her head. By the time she reaches the red banner her entire demeanor has changed, the uncertainty of her grip on the blades is gone and even as she spins her stance and posture have become much broader... arrogant and proud.
All in one motion she positions herself to the side to not block the halfling's approach and brings one of her blades to whip through fabric as it passes in a whirl. "Pieces of cloth? I hope this is just a warm-up." Her voice has been deep, masculine, and tinged with a Tien accent.

Just a head's up to the DM, I suspect that these are more "animated objects" and so this would not apply, but against ghosts, spirits, haunts, possession, etc. . ., I have a few bonuses to detect/sense them.
Know Arcana DC 13: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 <nope>
Drawing his sling as he moves into the room, Torrel intends to survey the battlefield before jumping into action, hoping to spot a cause for what seems to be going on. His movements almost seem like a dance as he goes in closer, and he seems just as intent on the health of the guards as the threats against them.
Perception (cause): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 <+2 vs incorporeal>
Sense Motive (spirit sleuth): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 <+2 if it involves possession, an enchantment or curse, or otherwise magically controlled>
"It is interesting, the banners do not attack the guards. Why?" he mutters to the group, before calling out to the guards "Fall back to us and we will help you. I can heal your wounds and we can try to pacify this threat together, alive."
Night's Star flies just above his head, using her extraordinary senses to see if she notices anything else out of place.
GM Batpony |
You're right in the sense they are more than animated, and is considered for all intents and purposes haunted. But the scenario lacks providing more information that that.. if it is "possess" or can be channelled back to a source or if it could be consecrated. You're thinking this in the right way, but the scenario just ask you to defeat the banners (in a way you would any other construct) and the threat is over. Nothing more than that really.
Torrel though is able to perceive that some of the nearby relics are broken open, somewhat from the inside, suggesting some energy must have been released from it. The animated objects move about in a way that suggest it could involve spirits(?). Spirits controlling the objects seem like a likely explanation. They seem to be intent on subduing everything in sight, but don't take on anybody that is already preoccupied with a spirit.
As Torrel moves in to attempt to identify causation, the banners make no waste of time and immediately move to confront their closest "attackers". They attempt to wrap up Seren and Torrel, but in their flimsiness, they underwhelmingly gets itself into a knot.
slam vs Torrel: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
slam vs Seren: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The guards seem too pre-occupied fighting off the "owlbear", but take note of Torrel's shouts. Other pathfinders seem to have arrived as well to lend a hand to the Owlbears.

Varuna Varghese |
Kn Nobility: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 8 + (2) = 24
Kn Arcana: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 9 + (6) = 30 Resistences, immunities, weaknesses, special attacks, special abilities
Varuna steps into the chaos of the room, and immediately recognizes the owlbear's comparisons and that some of the artefacts belong to The Order of the Sable Owlbear, a mercenary company. "Hmmph, mercenary owlbears. Peculiar." He then focuses on the combat at hand and watches as the banners try to attack Torrel and Seren.
Will wait for the answers before I post his action.
Lilianna Thraller |
Never a dull moment with the Pathfinder Society! Lilianna pulls a wand from a side pocket and sends divine encouragement to her allies. "The Dawnflower guides your strikes!"
________
Bless on everyone. +1 to hit/vs saves against fear.
Hangust |
As the sounds of battle ring in his ear, Hangusts smiling face turns into one full of rage, and he roars as he rushes toward the red banner moving into a flanking position with Seren.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Don't think I can get into flank with leaving a threatened square
Once in position he slashes once with his Kukri.
+1 Kukri (Raged): 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 201d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Rage 12/13 rounds left
GM Batpony |
I probably should have pointed out earlier, these creatures have 10ft reach.
As Varuna watches and studies the animated banners, he comes to some interesting information. He recognises that somehow these creatures are not animated by ordinary magic, but by some sort of spiritual magic. While they have no resistances, their immunities are similar to that of constructs. Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms)In addition, immunity to disease, death effects, necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning and anything requiring a fortitude save.
It has no particular weakness, but as much things that are born of necromancy damage it takes damage from positive energy as if it were undead. This is the weakness from the stat block.
No particular special abilities. When they attack, they tend to attempt to grab on to the opponents, and constrict them until unconsciousness.
Upon seeing the threat, Liliana cast divine blessings upon the group to aid them in vanquishing whatever this is.
Hangust moves into an advantageous position, but in doing so puts himself at the risk of being attacked. But once again the flimsiness of the cloth, maybe due to aging, causes it to be inefficient at it's attempts to subdue anyone. Hangust then delivers a quick strike, cutting away more of the clothe from the banner.
Red AoO Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Combat Round 1/2
