Tophor calls out to their foes beyond the doors. “Agents of the Aspis! Throw down your weapons and surrender, or take your chances with the beast!”

"You're crazy if you think i'm willingly opening this door any time soon," Jal says with a grin over at Tophor.
“I would not condemn anyone to that fate, even the Aspis – but the choice is theirs.”
GM Aerondor |
From the other side of the door various screams are heard. Then silence.
Xien |
Still committed to close his eyes Xien explains "Our currently unexpected kobold allies are concerned by the future of their pet. They want us to save Stinkeye" the nagaji looks fiercely towards the shouts "I actually do not like hiding from Aspis agents. I would really prefer to face them. I will appreciate you order me to go against them and save Stinkeye rather than closing my eyes to this folly"
Jal Vaduva |
"Works for me," Jal grunts. Then he quickly gives the team a silent hand-signal countdown.
Three ... two ... one ...
He jerks the door open, stepping back to limit his own field of view.
GM Aerondor |
As Jal opens the door, two crossbow bolts go whzing through it toward Tophor

You want to be in the main entrance way? I don't think you can quite see even black from where you are, you would need to be behind Tophor for that

"To the front!" shouts Xien opening his eyes when the party starts the counter-attack. Spuring on his lizard mount the nagaji runs through the doors as Jal moves to the right.

GM Aerondor |
Eidi won't fit down the narrow corridor (at least I assume she is large, her icon certainly is.)
Apologies Tophor, I assumed that Jal was opening the pair of doors to allow everyone out.
GM Aerondor |
That would work, although to be fair he would still have had to open the other door to present a target.

Xien |
Y es, he is large. Can I use the squeezing rules to make him reach there? Even with the double movement penalty of those three squares I think it as enough
GM Aerondor |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'm not sure it is really what was thought of when squeezing was invented. However I love the image of a paladin charging the evil archer, so what the heck, lets go with it.
Trident in hand, the pair of lizards, ahh that is Heroic Paladin on his trusty mount, charges down the archers. Eww., a lot of blood there. Still the vile man still stands. Surely not for long though.
Meanwhile, just in front of him, a new pretty pattern of colours appears.

I would love to have Selena hit Jal with some kind of heal, but since she's not really been active, I'll just go ahead.

Draw and use the Potion of CLW.

"Hold on, Xien." he mutters as the potion does far less than he'd hoped, "I'm coming!"

And suddenly it is all over. The giant goes down, quickly returning to a more normal sized but still evil looking man.
Xien and Eidi knock the other man around so badly it doesn't look like he's likely to recover.
The kobolds all cheer and even the guardian gives a grudging "Well done."
Jal Vaduva |
As the giant hits the floor—and shrinks—Jal scans the room for more threats for a few moments before stooping to search their bodies. "That was a close thing," he mutters over to his crew.
Perception, the bodies: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
He looks over at the kobolds, "Then there's still the business with our man Sharrowsmith. Is he still here? Or alive?"
