"The creatures he's describing... they seem to be some sort of constructed monstrosities made of flesh. But not what I know of as 'flesh golems', necessarily. Knowing how constructed creatures work, they will likely be resistant to magic. I wish I knew more, but we can at least expect to need strong physical prowess."

"Well, that's pretty horrible. Grog, could we tie a rope through the manacles and leave the troll to hang here over the wall until we come back? For sakekeeping."

"That's fine with me. I say we take those creatures out."

The party leaves the troll in an uncomfortable state. Then, you head towards area G1 on the map.
A slender stone bridge arches gracefully over a roaring waterfall here, linking the gatehouse to a fortified manor house clinging to the cliff on the far side.
The bridge is 10 feet wide and has no guardrail. The arch is sufficiently high to provide cover for creatures on either end of the bridge.

Grog can't see the whole creature. But what he sees looks like this.
Knowledge Arcana to know more.
| Sharien Oakfoot |
"Well then. I suppose I may as well try some magic on it, though I fear it might be immune."
Sharien tosses a fireball at the creature to begin the fight.
fireball: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 4, 5) = 23 DC 18 Reflex save for half
GM Engleaktig
|
Reflex Save: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Due to the curve of the bridge, Sharien can't quite see the enemy. But, with a fireball, she doesn't have to! She aims it in such a way that it catches the creature, but doesn't damage the bridge.
She also knows from Grog's description, this is another Flesh Golem Hound. It's very similar to the one you encountered at the Chymic Works back in Lepidstadt.
The *boom* of the fireball is mostly drowned out by the roaring of the waterfall. Mostly.
Blackheath, Gravelon, and Grog: What would you like to do for your surprise round?

"Well, now that they know we're here, let's hope they at least add extra places at dinner. Onward?"
Blackheath
|
Awesome! Will try to get the new stats up by tomorrow.
Blackheath
|
Pause and listen sounds fun...
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Wow! well, better to roll 1 here than in combat.
"I hear something... I think it's my mother calling me!"
| Sharien Oakfoot |
Sharien looks around at her allies, doesn't see a Rogue in the group, and therefore casts dispel magic on the magical trap.
Caster level check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Blackheath
|
Blackheath, armed with this new information, looks around for the "off switch."
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Can we make out any detail of the portrait from where we are?
Blackheath
|
Would it be possible to use Mage hand to throw the switch but not trip the trap?
If so, Blackheath will try that.
Blackheath
|
Hmmmm. Can we discern the nature of the switch? Or how it is usually triggered from the other side of the threshold?
Maybe we could summon a creature on the opposite side of the threshold and have them follow commands to disarm it.
Thoughts anybody?
