You also recognize that, given the close quarters of the complex (that you can see), you won't know where these creatures are until you're practically on top of them.

"That's fine with me. I say we take those creatures out."

Silver Crusade

The party leaves the troll in an uncomfortable state. Then, you head towards area G1 on the map.

A slender stone bridge arches gracefully over a roaring waterfall here, linking the gatehouse to a fortified manor house clinging to the cliff on the far side.

The bridge is 10 feet wide and has no guardrail. The arch is sufficiently high to provide cover for creatures on either end of the bridge.

Not that you needed the dice roll. :-) But, Grog is pretty sure that there's something (hidden) on the other side of the bridge.

Due to the curve of the bridge, Sharien can't quite see the enemy. But, with a fireball, she doesn't have to! She aims it in such a way that it catches the creature, but doesn't damage the bridge.

She also knows from Grog's description, this is another Flesh Golem Hound. It's very similar to the one you encountered at the Chymic Works back in Lepidstadt.

The *boom* of the fireball is mostly drowned out by the roaring of the waterfall. Mostly.

Seems quiet. The door is unlocked. You open the door and see:

A huge portrait hangs above an enormous, lit fireplace in this large entry chamber. A set of steep stairs rises to the right.

Silver Crusade

Blackheath: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Gravleon: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Grog: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Sharien: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Before you proceed into the room, both Blackheath and Gravleon notice a trap at the door. Detect Magic reveals it to be a magical trap. The school of magic is Conjuration. The aura is "strong."

The half-elf still detects magic on the trap.

Sharien Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

The wizard is fairly certain the trap is set to summon something once the threshold has bee crossed. It occurs to her that there must be an "off switch" of sorts to allow egress through this door.

Yes. You can see the off switch. It's on the other side of the threshold; you'd have to break the plane of the threshold... Though, clever solutions might find success... :)

Hmmmm. Can we discern the nature of the switch? Or how it is usually triggered from the other side of the threshold?

Maybe we could summon a creature on the opposite side of the threshold and have them follow commands to disarm it.

Thoughts anybody?

It's basically just a magical button.
