Maps: Absalom Initiation

I've taken some time tonight to read your character sheets. I'd like to know what your characters can do, and maybe get any questions out of the way before the game. Also, I've found in the past that my player's seemed to appreciate a double-check. Last minute tweaking or rebuilding of a character can introduce some consistency issues, sometimes. :)

Please see the spoilers below.

Shera Dionas:

- I think you've done yourself short on your AC. It should be AC 17, with +4 from Dex?

Inquisitor Culvine:

- Your armor rating doesn't seem to add up. Should be 18, in total?
- A related question about your fighting syle. You have the +2 shield bonus to AC included standard, but primary weapon seems to be two-handed. What will be your standard setup?
- Are you sure your armor check penalty is correct? I'm counting 2 from lamellar leather, 3 from the shield and -1 from the armor expert trait. Right?
- How would you like to handle the Bodyguard feat? I think it could use some thought, since it's a reactionary ability. Will you declare how you'd like to use it in the coming round, with each combat post?

Yagi Mi:

- I see that you have four level-1 spells known. Is that correct? I though they got 2 at level 1, with Summon Nature's Ally as a bonus. Is there another bonus spell?

Azygg Reekspittle:

- The stats for your weapon aren't quite correct for a Greataxe. Should be 1d12 for damage with x3 crit, probably? Also, you seems to have missed the extra +1 damage from two-handed damage in the dice code.
- I don't have a lot of experience with your Oracle curses. I'll try to keep them in mind, but please remind me if they come up and I seem to have forgotten about them.
- I didn't see your orc racial abilities anywhere. Are they is a spoiler that I missed? (Your saves looked high to me, but I think that's the effect of Orc Tattoo and Fate's Favored. Correct?)

@GM, good catch. For some reason PCGen thinks I should have three spells plus SNA instead of two. Yagi should be fixed now.

yeah i changed it from falchion to a great axe at the last second. forgot to do the stat change as well. You are correct on the Saving throws.
i added the racial modifiers. it was already included under the skills but i guess i forgot to add it as a separate spoiler. thanks. he should be good to go now.

The intended set up is a two handed, reach/body guard build. So unless I state otherwise (I will write it in my post and then I will edit it into my header) just assume I'm using a two handed reach weapon.

If you'd rather it be 4 then okay. But I was told that a shield is a piece of armour and also gets a deduction from armour expert. (I am still pretty new to this though.)

That is definitely a good question. In other posts I've had to say "I will be using this next round if it comes to it."

But I suppose I could double post? One to say I'm about to use it, then make my actual post?

Thanks everyone for the final changes to your character sheets.

Azugg:

- Last point, I think you're still missing the +2 from Divine Favor in de dice code for damage.

Shera:

- That's odd, I hadn't figured you'd be encumbered with 14 Strength. It seems like most of the weight is in non-combat gear llike torchers, rope and camping gear. If you would gloss over that and include your last point of Dex to AC, I'd be perfectly fine with that.

Culvine:

- Leave the armor check penalty as is, for now. Maybe I'll have some time to dig further into that ruling.
- For the bodyguard feat, I think the way you used to do it seems fine. You could give a blanket statement "I'll use bodyguard when it comes up", or make somoe conditionals, such as "only to protect X", or "only against attacks from the boss". Your choice.

Yagi:

- I don't have experience with PCGen, but I really could't find anything that gives bonus spells. Maybe PCGen think CLW is free as a spell known, like with Oracles?

I only have limited use, so it's mainly going to be used on bosses or allies that have already been hit. Working on his back story now, ex-soldier/field medic, turned priest and now on the path of vengeance. Silent type though so ibappolgise if he doesn't speak much, haha

I'm going to be fairly scarce again this week. My wife's father's health has taken a turn for the worse. He has been battling cancer for 2 years. Last week we were informed that it has metastasized into his stomach. He has been moved to hospice care. The whole family is congregating in Florida (we live in Kansas City) where her dad lives. I'll try to post when I can.

I will be home next Sunday and should be back to a regular posting schedule.

Azygg are you sure your curse triggers in this case? From the rule (emphasis mine), I thought it wouldn't.

i think it means if there is a surprise round and he is able to act, he cant- and is staggered. If he does not act in the surprise round then he is staggered. either way he would start out as staggered. that is how I have seen other GMs play this malady in PFS. I could be wrong though.

That's all, folks! Thank you for playing. I really enjoyed it, hope you did as well. Too bad that Culvine went missing in the end. The final fight was quite close in the end, even though the Jinkin could not realistically hurt you very much. The second prestige point hinged on not letting her get away, so the Color Spray there really saved the day!
