What Carerris saw:
The stairs lead to a long hallway which stretches sixty feet east (where you are) to west ending in another spiral staircase. The walls of this hall contain deep notches and cuts at five-foot intervals, and a lever lies in the down position beside the western staircase. Skeletal remains litter the floor, and among them rests the recently slain corpse of an elf, his arms torn off and several feet from the body.
Also, a menacing looking human stands holding a crossbow toward the end of the hall, he wears a angry scow.
Give me a marching order and feel free to plan how you are going to get past the man below.
eskis |
Looking proudly at the gate he just lifted,
Ah the innocenze of youth and wanting to grow up. Juzt enjoy your childhood little one. You have plenty of time to grow up.
Eskis puts up his shield and runs down the hallway trying to get as much distance as possible to the antagonist.
[ooc] this room is so trapped. I am going to die. someone try to blind or MC the guy.
VENGEANCE He screams as he rushes the room.
Chaosorbit |
Just want to make sure for eskis that's a double move?
I'll roll init. a bit later, when I have a chance to make a more complete post.

Eskis charges down the stairs and toward the man. The others follow.
Feel free to change the order behind Eskis if that's not the correct order.
As Eskis begins to move down the hall the man fire a bolt at him with his heavy Crossbow.
Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The bolt lands close to Eskis feet.
Hey now! You don't want to be coming down my hall now do ya. That there was your one and only warnin' shot. I'll drop every one a ya. And if I don't then the traps in this here hall will. Steady now this place is deadly, better what your step birdy.
Party may act.
eskis |
is this after I move up to him? or do I still have to do that?
eskis |
ok, i think the smart thing to do would be to shoot him from a distance and then slowly check for traps. But that is not what Eskis would do.
VENGEANZE Eskis screams and runs up to the attacker.
Chaosorbit |
@Carerris since you don't have the Precise Shot feat the man would get a +4 to AC for the having to shot past the on rushing eskis.
Chaosorbit |
Since this fight is a bit tricky. We'll step through it a bit more. Before we see if anything happens to eskis running down the hall. Broain is up. Since you are last in line you can't immediately act, but you can as a move action move past everyone but eskis to in front of Kaz, or attempt to squeeze in another square. You can also delay. Which let's you decide when you want to jump into action.
Chaosorbit |
As Braoin delays and waits for his opportunity; Eskis rushes toward the waiting man. Bounding down the hall, everything seems okay until he gets right in front of the man when suddenly a large axe swings from the wall.
Swinging Axe Tap: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
The man chuckles, I warned ya birdy!
Carrerris angles for shot. Carerris may still act this round
Dresden moves up intending to cast Flare, but can't quite get into range. Range on Flare is 25 ft, you can only get to 30 ft with a move action. I moved you forward and you still have a standard action available.
Kazbaz casts resistance on Eskis.
Diminian fires and misses.

Braoin |
Braoin moves as far as he can toward the crossbowman before stopping to move his hands in a quick, blunt motion.
I'm unsure how far away I am on the map. If I can get within 25 ft of him, I'll case Grease under him. If not, I'll case Mage Armor on myself.
Chaosorbit |
Braoin moves into the hallway, casting a spell on himself. Mage Armor, range of Grease is 25 ft. So you can move up and cast it next round.
Carerris takes careful aim despite the crowded hallway. And looses an arrow at the man, just as he was saying.
Ol' Janks goin' to feast on giant fowl tonig..aww..why you little.
The arrow is on the mark catching the man in the shoulder.
I'll get you too.
Dresden gets in position to cast Flare. And Kazbaz runs after Eskis.
Assuming double move instead of casting resistance.
Chaosorbit |
Janks takes a 5 foot step backward, reloads his heavy crossbow with surprising speed, and takes another shot at Eskis.
This'll drop ya!

Janks scores a solid hit, but Eskis's armor prevents it from being a killer blow.
What the, your tougher than I thought for an old crow. Ya still ain't gonna survive this hallway.

DC 16 reflex or fall, I assume you want it to extend back away from the group, 10 feet
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
WHOA! Hey now, that's a right dirty trick orc. Hey little kid don't heal the birdy.
Janks is sure footed and was ready for anything, he quickly gets his balance and doesn't go down.
Meanwhile, Kazbaz steps up healing Eskis and Diminian narrowly misses his shot.
eskis |

Chaosorbit |
Eskis takes a big swing almost delivering a critical hit, it still does quite a bit of damage.
Dresden moves back in front of Braoin and casts Flare, dazzling the mouthy Janks.
Will save from Flare: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Actually should have been a fort save...still fails. And is now dazzled.
Dazzled: The creature is unable to see well because of overstimulation of the eyes. A dazzled creature takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls and sight-based Perception checks.
Carreris is only one left this round.
Carerris |
Sorry friends! I work at the bottom of a mountain and get NO service at my job. Sorry to keep you waiting all day.
Carerris grins at her previous shot and thinks to herself, "There's more where that came from," as she grabs another arrow from her quiver.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
and then she thinks, "What is with me today!?"
Chaosorbit |
@Carerris no worries!
Carerris arrow misses, and Janks attempts to step back through the grease.
DC 10 Acrobatics
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Quite the nimble fellow, he's easily able to traverse the grease and quickly reloads the crossbow, firing once again at Eskis.
Heavy Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Your turn ! Eskis if you step forward to attack give me a Acrobatics check to move through the grease. If less than 5, auto fall. If less than 10, give me a reflex save @ DC16 or fall.
eskis |
You can't ezcape vengeanze Eskis says, moving into the grease and attacking again.

attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
eskis |
i dont think it rolled the reflex right, reflex +3 and then i did +1 from kaz's resistance. not that it matters ;(
Chaosorbit |
Okay -- Second chance of sorts. Needed an acrobatics check first. If fail then reflex. So I'll go ahead and roll it for ya. 50/50 chance.
eskis acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Braoin misses with his crossbow.
For a moment it looks like Eskis will slip on Braoin's Grease but stays on his feet. And delivers a massive blow as Janks begins to drop Diminian's arrow sails in and seals the deal.
You may have proceed out of initiative.
Chaosorbit |
Carerris doesn't find any more traps, but notes that it looks like a lever on west side of the room can be used to reset the traps in the room, the one that hit Eskis, plus several others which seem to have been previously sprung.
Janks has a chain shirt, a short sword, a finely craft heavy crossbow, 7 very fine looking bolts, and a small vial.
Braoin |
Braoin takes the second heavy crossbow and starts winding both. The way this fight's going...
He also takes a moment to study the fine bolts. What check would determine if theyre something special, or just nice bolts?
