Man, I was so hoping you would just blast the guard before they had the opportunity to call out.
Group 1
Monk 2 (21)
Arovandeon (20)
Kanye (20)
Grundle (20)
Group 2
Evigail (13)
Danyn (12)
Guard 4 (10)
Guard 1 (9)
Monk 1 (8)
Group 3
Kort (7)
Hagrym (6)
Guard 2 (3)
Guard 3 (3)
Evigail prepares to blast the guard if they call out, which is of course what they do, "Zhrtei!", while pointing down at Evigail. The other guards whirl around, now at full alert, but unable to see an enemy. Evigail lets his windblast go, but it was not enough to cause the man to tumble to his "good-nights'-sleep" falling off the wall would have certainly brought him, perhaps on he permanent side.
Shortly after that, one of the other guards begins to move around, and pulls out a bow while jogging across the outer wall. They quickly spot Kanye and Hagrym, and get ready to take a shot.
Hagrym, not wanting to see if the guards have better luck with their arrows than he has with his bolts, runs inside the building, getting ready to help dispatch the other threat going on within, if needed.
Need another action from Kort, and then the rest of Group 3 (NPC's) will go, and then back to Group 1.

Kort concentrates to keep up the illusion as outside the remaining two archers move closer to their targets and also arm themselves with short bows. Guard #3 notices the newly formed Wall of Stone and points it out to #4, but both are more interested at the moment on Evigail, Grundle, and Kanye.
Back to Group 1

Heh...too bad I can't use my rolls from my Discussion post!
TWF Flail 1 Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 4
TWF Flail 1 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
TWF Flail 2 Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 19
TWF Flail 2 Attack: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Grundle sighs and swings his first flail through the air...missing his target. But he squints and follows through the momentum to bring his second flail crashing down...

![]() |

Man, I was so hoping you would just blast the guard before they had the opportunity to call out.
yeah, wasn't sure I was in combat. Then I missed anyway :) Seaweed tries to get a look at what weapons the guards carry.

![]() |

Technically, I think Arrovandeon would go before me...so if you'll allow it...
Grundle makes a last second twitch and the flail head cracks into the stone beside the guard.
He whips his head around and yells "WHAT?!?!"

![]() |

I thought you where going back outside to help Evigail, but that's fine. Yes, you MAY use your rolls from the Discussion thread, they where supposed to be your next attack after all. As far as stopping and switching actions, sure if you want to, I will allow it, but there might be a hidden cost for doing it as you storm in and are obviously looking aggressive and ready to kill, (almost as if the voices where getting to you. . .). And yes, Arovandeon who is talking to one of the monks in a foreign tongue does go before you and if he attempts to stop you, then I'm fine with that. Or let the blood fall, you know, which ever. :)

![]() |

Let me know what Grundle and Arovandeon decide and I'll move on. :)
Heads up, having a pretty amazing storm here at the moment, possibility of loosing power/internet. I still have my phone, but will not be able to access the maps.

![]() |

Going back over my posts I am indeed outside with Evigail...I just saw my figure on the map next to the guard so I assumed. :) Map's fixed and sorry for the confusion!

![]() |

So what, if anything, is Grundle doing?

![]() |

Group 2 is up with Evigail, Danyn, and a few of the baddies.

![]() |

So far they are while you are talking. I didn't want to get too much further into the conversation earlier so that other people could act, but by all means continue if you want. I had forgotten you had said this last part, honestly.
Your last comment:"We do not want trouble. I would prefer diplomacy."Diplomacy = 24
It will take a bit more time for the Diplomacy to be effective, in addition to not beginning a combat with the Monks, but that's a really good start.

![]() |

The other Monk, who has remained silent until now, but remaining defensive and looking coldly from his ally to the party begins to shift, slowly walking towards the other monk. and cuts him off in midsentence,

![]() |

I can't find any reference earlier to monks, but does Arovandeon have any idea what order these two belong to? Or any useful information regarding them?
Knowledge ??: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Add any appropriate bonus if applicable.

![]() |

Seaweed looks closely at the guard's hands and manuevers around Grundle. Winds I hope that is not a bow. With a twist of the wrists hurricane winds blow at the guard.
windblast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 2/8 EDIT: :(
To Grundle the cleric mutters, "One coming around the corner. I'll focus on the two up top, but can hold them all when the reach the grass."

![]() |

"...A'right...what should I do?" Grundle whispers back.
"Unless you have a way to hit the guards on the wall, take the one coming around the corner." Seaweed glances at the chains around the half-elf's body. "You don't need me to tell you what to do then," the cleric grins.

![]() |

Grundle flashes a toothy and wicked grin. He grips his flails and charges forward at the guard coming around the corner.
He whips a flail up, spins it up and around his head, and brings it screaming down at the guard...
Charging Flail: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Sigh.

![]() |

You already have attack rolls in waiting, just waiting for a target. . .

![]() |

Grundle's Charge doesn't completely drop the guard, but she is not looking good after that hit, and might not be getting any dates any time soon with the way her jaw is just kind of hangin' there.
For the moment, to move things along, I will have Danyn Ready an action to attack if the Monks betray the party in the negotiations, and let him retcon an action in later if desired.
Almost simultaneously, the two guards on the walls near Grundle and Evigail knock some arrows and let them fly, one towards Evigail and the other towards Grundle.
Shortbow vs Evigail (17): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 (OUCH, that's a nasty HIT)
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Shortbow vs Evigail (15): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 (miss, but not by much)
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Inside, the Monk comments, "
Group 3 is up

![]() |

Hagrym waits to see if the alchemist's discussions have any effect. If not he strikes out at the closest monk.
Ready an action to beat one up if they take an aggressive, action at one of us.

![]() |

I'm on a 24 hour staff duty. I can occasionally read the threads, but might have issues posting (much) until Monday.

![]() |

If hehasnt acted by the time I get home, Kort will concentrate on the spell and Ill have the guards act. Group one, if you want to act again you can but keep in mind two of the guards will actually go first and might make you want to change your actions a bit.

![]() |

@Beckett - hadn't realized I was up.
Kort concentrates on maintaining his illusion, and calls out, "Perhaps the rest of the party should come in from the rain, or some of us should go help them. I think right now we're dawdling, and Evigail and Grundle are paying the price."

![]() |

Grundle let's loose a howl of rage as the projectile thuds into Evigail. He lets loose a string of expletives and attacks with all his might at the guard he injured.
TWF Flail 1 Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 12
TWF Flail 1 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
TWF Flail 2 Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 18
TWF Flail 2 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

![]() |

Guard 2 drops their bow and takes out the handaxe at their belt, drawing a strike from his attacker which swings wild before trying to himself strike back at Grundle.
Attack (vs AC 15): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Guard 3, seeing the foe fast approaching begins to turn around and launches another arrow, also at Grundle.
Attack (vs AC 15): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Arovandeon and Kanye are up, followed shortly thereafter by Grundle whirling about his flails and dropping Guard 2 with a loud crunching noise.

![]() |

Arovandeon continues talking with the monks.

![]() |

Grundle cries out, "Argghghg, you son of a goblin's nether regions! That HURTS!" He grabs the arrow and tries to yank it out, eliciting another shriek and curse, and the arrow snaps off with the head still embedded deeply into his shoulder.
"You...won't...live...to regret this."

![]() |

"Blast it, blast it, blast it. Why. Don't. You. Just. Fall already!"
windblast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
3/8 EDIT ARRRGGG!!!

![]() |

Evigail, if it helps any, you missed by 1. <ducks>

![]() |

hmmm... need to focus on the RP circumstance bonuses more. :)

![]() |

'why oh why did we not wait for these guards to come to us? They're getting pincushioned out there. damn.'
Kort concentrates on maintaining the illusion, and backs up Arovandeon. Kort sees Hagrym champing at the bit, and says, "You go, I'll stay with Arovandeon."

![]() |

The monks are answering, I'm just trying to keep it mostly in the init order, and it is primarily Monk #2 that is speaking. I'm doing that, because I don't want events inside to get too far ahead of those outside, even though you can speak out of turn.
<EDIT> and I see that my post a few days ago seems to have gotten eaten. <head drops> That seems to be happening a lot lately, as I have been posting from my phone a bit more often. I'll retype their response again in a little bit.
