For his first play by post game I would not suggest Severing Ties. It's pretty dangerous.

I can't find a chronicle for that, so I guess I can't brag about beating it. I'll mentally prepare for the destruction.
Have you done Gods Market Gamble? My team got TPK'd on that one... twice. Tried to finish it for fun, and neither finished nor had fun. :(

Higher tier is worse than the lower tier, but it is a great challenge. I have played and GMed Severing Ties, so I will let some one who can use the chronicle have my spot :)

@Grundle - no worries. I think our exit from here may be quite a party. Kort's not Andoran, but he's got a special CN place in his heart for the oppressed. Although he didn't grow up a slave, he grew up in an orphanage run by Chelaxian 'nuns'.

OK - statue dillema.

Seaweeds thought to use 'sanctuary' sounds right, but it only gets one person past the golem. What if that one person puts up a curtain around the golem, then all of us tiptoe past very quietly? Worst case, it gives us a wrap of heavy cloth around the golem to slow it down while we give it a blanket party.

@Arovandeon - I think I did moderately miserably on a KS:Arcane check, so Kort probably doesn't know an awful lot about golems. Me, the player, does't remember whether it's all golems, or just iron golems that are broadly immune to magic. I'd also have to look and see if sanctuary is mind-affecting or not - my recollection is that it's abjuration, not enchantment. IIRC it didn't used to allow a save, though I think now it allows a will save to ignore the spell.

But I'm not looking 'em up right now, because I can't get to to PSRD while at work, and right now it's good that me, the player, isn't much better informed than Kort, the character... :)

@Danyn - now I have a mental image of a huge, flaming, flailing golem chasing us around. Like mummy on fire in a Scooby Doo cartoon. :)

@Kort - Yes, that's kind of what I was thinking. My first thought: fire damage. My second thought: flailing 6-armed fire-monster.
Not sure if fire blanket is a pro or con.

GM, Kort brings up a good point. Sanctuary does fall into a strange area concerning constructs. Arovandeon made a pretty darn good skill check I think, so can he determine the possibility of that spell actually working in this situation?

For everyone else, even if the sanctuary spell can affect the statue, it will likely get a save, which means success is not guaranteed, and will likely set the creature off when the spell is tested against it, and since sanctuary is self only that means Evigail's going to be it's primary target (and seeing that the statue has 6 arms she's probably going to get clobbered).

If we hit it from range, then it has to move to us which will prevent it from full attacking. Then that person can withdraw and head through the arch with the rest of us.

Arovandeon:
From your Know Arcana check, it's not actually a Golem, which would be immune to most magic, but rather a miraculously "impossible" sort of Animated Object that seems to act like a security guard and training partner. Both Kort's and Evigail's plans should work. It also seems to be activated by proximity.

Kort:
Yes, not only is it a Golem, it is a mighty unique stone Golem immune to all magic, and also a super cool Druid's Animal Companion, very much in flavor for a Rakshasa.

Kanye's reach could be used for trip attacks too, (or maybe someone else.) I dinnae know how good he might be at it. My thought being if we could get it far enough from the door, we could knock it down, trip on all the AoO as it tries to stand and eventually we can all zip by.

Sadly, you can not try to trip an already tripped creature on an AoO for standing up. The AoO happens before the action that provokes it, so if it is standing up, it is still prone at the time of the AoO.

Kanye generally defers in social encounters. However if the choice is between buttering up a monk, or convincing one of your dominance we all know which side I will choose.

On the other hand Arovandeon has been our parties face since early in the adventure and so far it has worked well.

Let me put it a different way, and sort of put the rolls on hold. You have a certain limited number of attempts. You can use either Diplomacy or Intimidate, each uses 1 attempt, that both come from the same pool. So for example, if you had say 5 attempts, you could do 3 Diplomacy and 2 Intimidate, 5 Intimidate, or whatever combination.

So with that in mind, as a group, please come up with who is going to be making the roll, using either Diplomacy or Intimidate, each time, and who will attempt to Aid. We will go ahead an use the initial Dip/Int roll, as they came out the same, and allow everyone else to attempt to Aid Another. Then once we figure out who is going to make the other checks, we will start from there. Make sense?

Hey guys/gals. This scenario is very close to being done, and (with a little extra Faction Mission wrap up), I'm getting started on working on the next one.

First, with the exception of Grundle, will everyone be using the same characters? (Assuming everyone wants to play another, that is)

Secondly, if so, what level ranges will we be looking at, assuming everyone gets 1XP here, (or has another character they want to use).

Tertiary, any suggestions or requests?
