Kort Drakovich |
K all - looks like I'll be bringing Kort for this engagement. Angruf is going to go play in the mwangi swamps for a while. Looks like Kobash and Kort can have art v. science discussions...
Note that Kort's not big on the 'knowing of things'. Spellcraft and Arcana, some light charisma skills. But for real 'knowiness', we'll probably have to lean on Kobash.
DM Beckett |
I've been put on a overnight guard shift for a week, so I will probably not be able to do much, possibly until it's done. I'll let you know when I get the hang of it, but for now, it might be a few days before I can start.
Kort Drakovich |
Beckett - my sympathies, I did graveyard weekends for a few years during college. The transition is what hurts. Get back to us when Real Life permits. :)
BTW, it's very odd that mists of mwangi is back in the Blakros Museum - but it's supposed to be first. Angruf is having that Doctor Who feeling, "No Spoilers!"
DM Beckett |
Yes, it's the first of a few set there. I believe it is Mists, then The Penumbral Accords, and then Voice in the Void, with the Blakros Matrimony only partially related, but not located in the museum. I've run Penumbral and Voice, and I really liked them. I wish that the later seasons had been a lot more like them.
As it turns out, for this game, I have not been able to read or prep too much. I'm not allowed to have electronics, or to read most of the time like I had hoped, so it makes it difficult. I should be over this the day after tomorrow, so I should be able to begin then.
DM Beckett |
No worries. I have finished guard duty, so I've begun to delve into the scenario. Interestingly, it looks like there are an assortment of ways it an go, and a lot of ways it could be completed. Ought to be interesting to see how it goes. I'll probably post the intro tomorrow, with some Faction Missions.
DM Beckett |
If anyone still needs more time, that's fine. We don't need to start just yet, I was just saying I'll put up a little more of a taste, and possibly a little bit of info on the country, even though it really doesn't even come across in the scenario so far as I've seen.
DM Beckett |
That should be fine. I'm not sure if everyone else is ready to go.
Evigail 'Seaweed' Brandiday |
I guess I'm ready, if I have too.
DM Beckett |
Ok, I'm about to post an intro, but like I said, we can hold off on truly starting a few more days, but allow some RP between the characters that are ready, maybe exchanging different adventures.
I've also had a new player request to jump in. I was thinking it should be okay without throwing the balance off much, but I wasn't sure how many players/characters I really have. First off, does anyone have an issue with a new player joining?
Evigail 'Seaweed' Brandiday |
Nope more the merrier, as long as we're still table legal :)
DM Beckett |
I'm trying to work on that. I do not have a clear picture of exactly who is playing, or what character they are bringing. I'll post the list I have in just a moment.
DM Beckett |
1.) Curaigh -> Evigail Cleric 2
2.) D-Kal -> Leonel Barbarian 1/Bard 1 (or new character)
3.) Gerald -> Hagrym Inquisitor 1
4.) Kobash -> Arovandeon Alchemist 2
5.) LordZum -> Kayne Fighter 1
6.) TheHeadKase -> Grundle Fighter 1
7.) Utopia 27 -> Angruf Bard 1 or Kort Sorcerer 1
Which puts us at 10 divided by 7, +1, and still at Tier 1
8.) new player

Dinnae tables cap at 7 players?
DM Beckett |
This one is both a little odd in that it actually states a few times, things like, "there are as many X as there are players, plus 1" or things of that nature. Additionally, there are a lot of ways that this scenario can be handled, so I don't think it will be a problem. Some of the issues not really solved by numbers.
It might also be okay to play up, though I will need to look at things before I say that would be safe(ish) to be honest.
Tables do sort of cap at 7, but it also says that it is better to have more players than to turn someone away if that is the option. At this point, I haven't said yes, so if people do find it is a problem, I can still say no and lead them to another game.
I'm personally cool with it, as we have not started, but at the same time, I don't want to ruin it for you guys if it's an issue.
DM Beckett |
By the way, I have posted the intro, so feel free to jump in, in character, (even if your character isn't really done in the other game yet), I will not truly move on yet to the action until everyone's ready.
DM Beckett |
Everyone has posted, but two players had asked to hold off until they finished the game they are in. I haven't really heard from them sense on the subject, so I'd like to know myself.
Danyn |
I'm in the last encounter of a scenario with my alchemist and I'm hoping to play him. If we have a couple days he should be available. If we start early, then I have a gnome transmuter wizard, half-elf bonded witch, gnome cleric of Pharasma, or I could throw together a custom character.
Arovandeon's ready, but no rush.
I certainly don't mind. I was rather hoping this would take a bit to get off the ground so I could bring in a character I'm just finishing First Steps with.
I'm in the last battle with Danyn. I'm hoping he'll be free in a week or two. I could just post as him for the intro & such, and if he dies or something, have Leonel tag team in before the action starts. Maybe?
For the record, Danyn is now ready to roll.
Is this the information you're looking for?
DM Beckett |
Yes, I had wanted everyone to post in the gameplay thread with only their character, so it's very confusing. I'll go ahead and update things soon.
Evigail 'Seaweed' Brandiday |
Seaweed shall buy a journal & ink, plus a couple days worth of trail rations (if we expect to be out that long). Trident #2 is up for sale. I replaced one spell with an open slot. Also, I will purchase a haversack at the end of the adventure (not enough gold now).
Evigail 'Seaweed' Brandiday |
Who has (or where is) the scepter?
what about the wayfinder?
DM Beckett |
That's a good question. It does become important shortly, (and I was going to ask before that point), but might as well know now.
Kort Drakovich |
I'll vote seaweed for the scepter (we always defend the healer anyway), and i'll take the wayfinder if no one minds unduly. Kort has a fascination with arcane magic items, and is among the less-threatening-seeming memebers of the party. If not Kort, then perhaps Grundle as most likely to do something clever to hide it.
Hagrym PFS |
LOL, we can have a go, if you want!
I love the image of 4 dudes around a fire, three randoms walk up to them, and two of them are talking about wrestling!
Evigail 'Seaweed' Brandiday |
I have the scepter then, 'carefully' hidden in my pack. Wayfinder?
