Evad downs a Potion: Mage Armor and hurries down the hall.
Old Iron Tyr
|
"Poison, you say? Might be best for me to take this one. Don't think a poison has stuck since I got hit with a blowdart during the Second Sacking of Kalubuto back in '90."
Old Iron moves into the room and swings at the zombie.
Attack with Halberd: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
"Hmm...might have been the third one back in '02."

Saarai steps forward to get a view of the creature, then conjures a small splash of acid in her hand, which she directs at the creature's face.
ranged touch attack vs. flat-footed, acid splash: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 4 = 181d3 ⇒ 3
sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 4 creature is still flat-footed, so should deal extra sneak attack damage...if so, total damage is 7.

Ahto's arrows hits puncturing the side, Petronicus' javelin skims down the wall and hits it square in the chest. As Old Iron steps in and takes a swing at it the Zombie lets out a groan and POPS emitting a noxious gas.
Old Iron's Fort Save VS Poison: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Well it looks like that poison stuck!
As the dust and gas chokes and fills Old Iron's throat he feels his ability to talk and lead drained slightly (1 Cha drain)
We will remain in init until the poison resolves.
Any actions in response to Old Iron choking and coughing?
Petronicus Krupt III
|
"Well, that's what you get for running into a situation you were told to stay out of," grumbles Petronicus as he reaches into his bandolier and pulls out the antitoxin, handing it to the nagaji. "Drink this, you big, dumb lizard."
Saarai Shae
|
"Careful, Petronicus," Saarai says. "I can call him a big, dumb lizard, but that's because I'm his friend. You may not like him when he's angry," she adds as she smiles serenely.
Evad Alacar
|
So the zombie is dead?
Have we lost Yggdrar
Old Iron Tyr
|
Old Iron begins reaching for one of the antitoxins on his belt, but he stops the second he hears Petronicus. His back straightens as he shoves Petronicus's hand away. "Keep your comments and your potions. It's just a poorly timed cough. Old age catching up."
GM, you might as well keep rolling fort saves for him until he cures it at this point. It's a matter of pride for Old Iron now....
Petronicus Krupt III
|
Petronicus turns to Shae, a look of true confusion splattered all over his face. "Why is it an insult? He is quite big, and walking into a poisonous and explosive situation when one has been warned against it does not strike me as particularly intelligent. I thought I was being quite accurate."
When Tyr rejects his offer, Krupt pockets the antitoxin with a huff. "Fine, have it your way, but your skin is getting a bit ashy."
He then leaves the room and keeps watch outside.

Learning of the zombie's demise, Evad heads back down the wall to join Molos intrigued by the illusion magic detected in the first room on the left. He peers into the room trying to break the illusion.
Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Not able to disbelieve what he sees; he continues to stare into the room trying to discern magic from reality.
Can I take a 20 to disbelieve?
Petronicus Krupt III
|
Getting bored, Krupt heads back to the "Pride" room and takes a look around. Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Not bad, not bad. These Thassilonians really knew how to make things that last.
Saarai Shae
|
Saarai pats Tyr on the shoulder before moving to the next room.
Let's open the next door on the left, ya?
Yggdrar
|
The burly Elf had been keeping eyes out as the rest of the group investigated the rooms in this long hallway. Slightly paranoid something may emerge from the darkness to ambush them. After smelling a foul something roll from one of the rooms, he figured he would be more useful helping to explore the rooms. Flail twirling in his hand, he slips along side Saarai, silently following 'The Rule of Two' before she went into a new room by herself.
Richard M. Harris
|
@ Evad, you ordinarily cant take 20 on saves, but eventually you will be able to disbelieve. It will just take a bit and Saarai is opening the next door.
Door 6d.
Shockingly graphic depictions of orgies of all manner of creatures decorate the walls of this chamber. Five humanoid skeletons lie in state on biers - though the bodies appear human, their skulls are those of some monstrous creature. A bile of bloody bones and feathers is all that is left of a recently killed creature.
Occupying the room is a medium sized creature, with a perfectly formed and anatomically correct female human torso, but any resemblances end there. Its arms are unnaturally long and end in three wickedly curved talons. Its lower jaw splits into two monstrous halves lined with sharp teeth, below bulging red eyes.
To identify:
Rolling initiative:
Evad: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Saarai: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Molos: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Yggdrar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Crack-Jawed: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Old Iron: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Petronicus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Baddy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Saarai, Molos, and Yggdrar may react to the threat first.
Molos Voren
|
know. Dungeoneering 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
"This thing is resistant to magic. It's better to try and back it to death.". Molos pulls his dagger and prepares to attempt to help at that very thing next round.
Saarai Shae
|
acid splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d3 ⇒ 3
sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 6 9 dmg total, extra sneak attack since it is still flat-footed.
Saarai quickly fires another ball of acid into the creature's eyes before stepping back.
Yggdrar
|
Laying eyes on the horrifying creature inside the oddly decorated room, Yggsrar hefts his flail and moves in to take a swing. Giving the monster something to distract it while the others helped to bring it down.
Kn: Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Guisarme in hand, Krupt attempt to trip the creature. Trip: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
I don't see the creature on the map, so I don't know how to move tactically, but if I can move around it to set up a flank, or take advantage of one, I will do so.

creature added to map, sorry about that
Saarai's Acid ball does in fact send the creature reeling as it burns her face.
Yggdrar will have to double move to move into the room and close with the creature.
The Lustspawn seeing a fresh morsel in front of it decides that she will attempt to take a bite of Yggdrar.
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Sinful Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Well obviously the Lustspawn was upset by the acid splashing in her face and her bite and claws seem to have been ineffective on Yggdrar.
Petronicus than steps in behind Yggdrar and attempts to trip the Lustspawn, but she seems to have recovered from the previous attack and dodges the attack deftly.
Crack-Jawed, Evad, and Old Iron may now act. Followed again by the 3 at the top of the Init.
Evad Alacar
|
Evad rushes down the hall and into the room, with sudden reckless abandon he sprints past his comrades and past the ugly creature to draw it's attention.
Double move, back into the corner, guessing I will provoke there
Old Iron Tyr
|
Old Iron straightens up and smacks his chest a couple times. "Told ya it was just a cough. Feel great now." He notices everyone gone to the other room and hears the sounds of battle. He grins. "Ah, looks like we got another dance already."
He carefully scoots past Petronicus and Yggdar. "Pardon--" He looks away from Petronicus. "--gentlemen."
He finally gets a look at the creature. "Whoa, got ourselves a pretty one, I see." He points his halberd at her, and then back at himself. "Try someone with a bit more experience, why dontcha."
Old Iron double moves into a flank with Evad.
Saarai Shae
|
With her flask of acid already out, Saarai again uses it as a focus for another spash spell, but this time the creature is not taken by surprise.
acid splash: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 4 = 81d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Molos Voren
|
Molos spends a point form his arcane reservoir and creates his Arcane Barrier, which would absorb three hit points before blinking out of existence. He then moves to try and help the squad cut the beast down in the upcoming rounds.
Yggdrar
|
Seeing the beast being flanked on multiple sides now, he hefts his flail once more. He let out a challenging roar at the monster and swung his heavy weapon once more across its hideous face as he moves in to trap the creature.
Rage-fueled Power Attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Rrrrgh! F**k this flail! Keeps giving me 1's and 2's!
Richard M. Harris
|
Yggdrar's flail crushes through the 'beautiful' face of the Lustspawn leaving it better looking than when it started.
A search of the room will find 400gp of archaic jewelry adorning the Lustspawn, and 2 potions.
Also in the Zombie room there are 2 black onyx's worth 50gp each.

"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych

Spellcraft, potion 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
"This is a love potion," Auto says, holding up the first bottle.
Spellcraft, potion 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
"This one enhances the imbiber's presence and likability," he says, as he raises the second.
Saarai Shae
|
Saarai smiles serenely and hands the love potion to Petronicus.
"Drink this, dear, then look deep into my eyes," she says seductively.
She tosses her head back in laughter, then resumes a business-like demeanor.
She checks the next door, then nods that it is all clear.
Petronicus Krupt III
|
Not having heard the Abadarian's description of what the potion is, Petronicus accepts its without question. He stuffs it into his bandolier, muttering "Thanks, I can always use a bit of healing."
He then moves up to the next doorway and stands guard with his polearm, ready for someone to open it.
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych
|
Ahto considers correcting the Chelishman, but instead simply shrugs and puts the second potion into his pouch.
"I will hold this until we divide the spoils, or find a need for it."

With that Evad opens the door across from the pride room.

Room 6C
A large circle of tarnished silver powder, surrounded by arcane symbols, has been laid down on the floor in the center of this room. The center of the circle is empty.
The Circle
Searching the room
The tarnished silver powder could be collected but is only worth about 1 gp.
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych
|
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
"What is this?" Ahto asks, retrieving a piece of parchment that was sticking out from behind one of the cabinets.
"Huh. It appears to be a spell for removing paralysis. This may be useful, depending on whether or not any ghouls are feasting down here."
Old Iron Tyr
|
Old Iron taps his chin. "Hmm. In my experience, stuff you find in places like this has a way of coming up later on." He stretches out his arms, taking turns rotating them in wide circles. "Never been paralyzed before. Fought ghouls before, but never had one get a hit in." A couple coughs punctuate his words. "Seems like one of those days, though."

Molos Voren

When it is pointed out to Molos that the circle is broken, the tiefling turns even more dour. "Not sure. But I know a bit about summoning. That circle is to keep things in or out. If it is broken, I'd bet something has gotten out and is now running loose in this place."

"Hmm," Petronicus muses. "Summoned demons or devils might be bad news. Did anyone bring any cold iron weapons? I think I left mine in my other suit."
Saarai Shae
|
"For once I agree with you," Saarai says pensively as she examines the gap in the circle. "I have some cold iron arrows and a spiked gauntlet," Saarai responds.
"Perhaps we should move on. There doesn't appear to be much more in this room," she says as she moves to the next door on the left to search for traps.
I know DM already said all doors clear, so I'll indicate that to the group and step aside for someone else to open it.
Petronicus Krupt III
|
Petronicus nods to Saarai. "Well, then, I guess I will just trip them with my guisarme and you can hit them while they are down. That will probably work well enough." The Chelaxian stands next to the tiefling, his polearm at the ready and waits for one of group's burlier types to open the door.

7 deadly sins, but only 6 doors Evad wonders to himself. Wonder if there is a secret door somewhere in this hallway.
Still intrigued by Sin of pride room, Evad moves there and continues to stare at the room trying to find the illusion.

@Evad, there is another door across from the hallway yall are in, in the main hall. Sorry it is a little hard to see.
I will allow Evad to stand there until he disbelieves. Please read the spoilered text for that room.
