Evad Alacar

@Evad, there is another door across from the hallway yall are in, in the main hall. Sorry it is a little hard to see.
Now I see it
While the others continue to explore the hallway. Evad stays fixated on the illusion in the sin of pride room. Eventually, he sees the inconsistency in the room, and then it's gone; the illusion is no more.
All he sees that the room is completely empty, except for dust and a single word carved into the stone floor: "Xavorax".
Excited by his discovery, he bounds down the hall.
"Has anyone ever heard of Xavorax?"
There is a knowledge local check a couple pages back for some to try.
Saarai Shae

Saarai moves carefully into the destroyed room.
"Wrath, obviously," she muses. "Oh, and there is a cleverly concealed secret door in the north wall somewhere. I just felt a gust of air from that direction," she adds.

Wiping his weapon clean, he stows his flail and draws the equally large scythe on his back, giving it a twirl between his fingers before grasping it tight and moving on with the group. He was vaguely aware of the meanings of the room we were going through, understanding the art in each, or just listening to the more intelligent members of the group.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
He was able to see the thin seem between the wall and the hidden door, in the same place Saarai pointed out. He took a moment to draw a white outline of the door with some chalk for all to see, since what he knew wouldn't be of much help here.
Old Iron Tyr
|
"Hah. First thing you said that I can agree with, Chelishman." Old Iron moves near the door as well. "Maybe we can find something that last longer than 12 seconds."
Petronicus Krupt III
|
"Well, anything down here in the crypts is not likely to have much life left in it. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did."
Despite himself, Petronicus is beginning to like the lizard and his frank, direct speech; it's a quality he admires.
Richard M. Harris
|
@ Saarai, the door will open with just a simple push.
Allright folks there are 2 doors left other than the secret door. The one across the hall from where Saarai is currently has a Pharasmin seal on the door that looks like the ones in the first chamber and then there is the door at the beginning of the hall. Then obviously the secret door that was found in room 6f.]
Just let me know where yall are headed next. Sorry it is has been a little slow this weekend.

Let's check out the secret door. I wouldn't want to use another use of the chime unless we know for sure there is no other way into that room. We should explore every nook and cranny before we hit that chime again.
Evad casts resistance on whoever opens the secret door.
Richard M. Harris

The secret door slides in to the wall revealing the backside of another secret door. That one opens the same way revealing what appears to be a small crypt. The bodies interred in niches in the walls appear to have been here for quite awhile and are crumbled. The room has an eerie blue light coming from the other end. As Old Iron at the front of the line turns the corner he finds himself looking into a pair of eyes filled with a cold blue flame. Looking down from the eyes there is the body of skeleton wearing ancient half-plate armor engraved with runes resembling those in the previous room. He is wielding an elaborate ceremonial ranseur.
"I am Erdikhaan, Palace Guardian of Runelord Alaznist. You dare defile this ancient resting place, you will now join those long dead." as the skeleton finishes speaking he turns his ranseur towards old Iron and steps to combat.

Petronicus Krupt III

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
"Skeleton, boys and girls. Hit with blunt weapons!" Petronicus calls out. He does admire the creature's ranseur, however, and looks forward to examining it more closely.
Saarai Shae
|
"I'd rather not join the dead quite yet, if you don't mind," Saarai responds with feigned politeness as she summons and throws a ball of acid at the creature's face.
acid splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Bah...4 dmg total
Richard M. Harris
|
The measly splash of acid hits the warrior in the armor and you can see a bit of bone melt away...but seemingly unphased Erdikhaan steps forward bringing his weapon tip towards Old Iron
Disarm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
and with a swift flick of the ranseur's point, Old Iron's halberd clangs on the ground at his feet.
A dry laugh emanates from the skeleton, Is this the best you have got? This should be over quickly.
The rest of you may now act.
Petronicus Krupt III
|
"We're too boxed up in that tomb. Get out of there, Tyr, I've got lots of other weapons for you out here."
Petronicus quickly moves backs out of the hallway and silently signals to the others to array themselves to attack the skeleton once moves out into the room. He then prepares to strike Erdikhaan should he come close. Move action, ready trip attempt should he move into my threatened area (10' into hallway).
Yggdrar
|
The Elf, seeing over his allies and able to confirm the tomb looked rather snug, and seeing Tyr lose his weapon. Dropping his scythe, he moves into position beside Petro and draws his Flail. Readying himself to lash out at the rather chatty skeleton should it pursue Tyr.
Also Readying an action. Will unleash a Rage-fueled Power Attack should the skeleton come within range.
Old Iron Tyr
|
"Thanks! You saved me some time. I was planning on dropping that so I could draw this." As Old Iron backs out of the skeleton's reach, he draws his cold iron earthbreaker. "One a' the guys just said you don't like getting bludgeoned. You might wanna keep that in mind in the future." He grins as he turns the corner.
Old Iron withdraws and draws his earthbreaker as he moves.

Seeing everyone filing out of the tomb Evad holds his position.

Cast Guidance on Old Iron Tyr
Saarai Shae

It looks like the top of the order might be back up? If so, I'll get out of there...
Saarai sends one last spray of acid at the wall to distract the creature as she withdraws from the tight chamber.
acid splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Richard M. Harris

@ Saarai, your withdrawing will still provoke an AOO, because withdrawing only doesnt provoke from the first square that you leave
Erdikhaan stabs at the tiefling as she tries to duck around the corner.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
but Saarai is able to scoot down the hall and the ranseur bounces off the stone wall.
Waiting for Crack-Jawed for Rnd 1 action, and then Molos for Rnd 2 Action
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych
|
Ahto calls upon Abadar's blessing of his task. Judgement: Smiting: Morning star is treated as magical for bypassing damage reduction, if any.
He moves down the hallway to engage the skeletal warrior. "Care to try me, you bag of bones?"
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Confirm Critical: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych
|
I've got a bludgeon ready. If I can get a hit or two in while getting it to follow us into the wider corridor it might be easy pickings. If it whacks the crap out of me this round, I'll beat a hasty retreat.
Richard M. Harris
|
Erdikhaan takes a step back and with a swift flick of the ranseur's tip...
Disarm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
the extra +2 is because of the weapons disarm quality, forgot that the first time[/ooc}
Crack-Jawed's mace lands squarely on his toe.
Can none of you hold onto your weapons?
[ooc]The rest of you may now act.
Evad Alacar

Evad casts guidance on Yggdrar. Then steps back. Then gets into his pummeling style.
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych
|
On my turn, whenever that ends up being, depending on how many delay their actions.
Ahto cautiously withdraws (withdrawal action) and moves back out into the room, leaving his morningstar on the floor. Once he has left the confines of the passage, he reaches into his pouch and retrieves the flask of holy water.
"He is cocky for a dead man," he says to no one in particular.
Yggdrar
|
Hearing the clattering of weapons hitting the ground and seeing his allies being disarmed, Yggdrar moves in to confront this usually dexterous skeleton foe. Feeling a strange surge pass through him as he does, thanks to Evad. Standing in the doorway to help cover Ahto's retreat, he calls out to the enemy, "It seems that you're after a more worthy foe, Undead! I, Yggdrar the Crusher, shall make sure you meet a swift, and decisive end!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Old Iron Tyr
|
"Hmm...you bring up a good point there, Crack-jaw."
Old Iron draws a smokestick, now only holding his earthbreaker in one hand, and moves up behind Yggdrar.
Richard M. Harris
|
@ Crack-Jawed, I went ahead and moved you as there is only Petronicus left to act. Also you will have to wait until your next action to draw the holy water as only "weapon like" objects can be drawn as part of a move action.
waiting for Petronicus's round 2 action and then Saarai and Molos's round 3 action.
Yggdrar
|
The Elf will stride forward and meet the Skeleton, twirling his heavy flail as he does. He is fully expecting to be at a disadvantage when he meets his foe head-on. But, the sooner he could start fighting, the sooner this obstacle would be removed.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 !CRITICAL HIT!
DAMAGE X2:
1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d10 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Richard M. Harris
|
As Yggdrar rounds the corner he triggers Erdikhaans readied action.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9
The point lands hard into Yggdrar's side dealing 9 points of piercing damage.
Then the next step that brings Yggdrar into flail range provokes an AOO from the warrior.
Disarm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Then the ranseur's tip leaves Yggdrar's side and hooks his flail, flinging it to the floor.
"It seems you are now toe to toe with me... and without a weapon. Are you sure this was wise?"
unfortunately that will invalidate the attack and the crit. sorry, this guy is apparently quite adept at disarming. Yggdrar still has another Standard or Move action if he would like it.
Yggdrar
|
I don't like you anymore, DM.
Yggdrar grunts as he eats the attack, and watches as this bony bastard strips him of his weapon. With a bone-rattling roar, he lashes out and punches the skeleton square in its bony face.
Rage-fueled Power Attack
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Richard M. Harris
|
With the blow from Yggdrar's fist Erdikhaan collapses to his knees.
"Alaznist... I have failed you."
and his body crumbles to dust leaving behind a suit of half-plate armor and a masterwork ranseur. Besides Erdikhaans gear the crypt contains approx 90gp worth of grave goods. At the other end of the crypt is an obvious secret door on the back of which is a rune. You will notice this matches the markings in the wrath room that you just left.
Petronicus Krupt III
|
Petronicus steps into the crypt and admires the pile of bones on the floor. "Well, you two just had to rush ahead and show off, didn't you? You're lucky his boasts were just for show, and he didn't have more stamina, otherwise I would have had to save your sorry asses."
Seeing the fallen ranseur, he takes a closer look at it and makes a few practice swings with it.
Yggdrar
|
Still caught up in his rage, Yggdrar brings his boot down repeatedly on the bile of bone, stamping them thoroughly into the floor and giving a shout of victory over the de-animated skeleton. Huffing and collecting his breath, he collects his flail. "I"ll keep that in mind for the next fight, Petro. When you're dueling a skeleton warrior bare handed."
Making his way back to the rest of the group, hefting the set of half-plate and setting it on the floor, as well as dividing up the bit of gold from the re-opened crypt, he says, "It's no more. The armor it wore is in good condition, so it's for whomever can wear it. Too heavy for my likes. And before I forget, does the name Alaznist mean anything to anyone?"
Old Iron Tyr
|
Old Iron picks up his halberd, his back giving a single crack. "You consider that he had no reason to come out to us?" Old Iron looks about, nodding as if confirming something. "He had a good spot." Old Iron kneels down for a closer look at the bones, propping himself up with his halberd. "Something tells me he had a long time to pick it, and he would've been just fine waiting longer."
Old Iron stands up again and turns to look at Petronicus, watching as he practices. "Might need to pick up something with reach myself. Hear good things about those ones from lucerne, wherever that is."
Evad Alacar

After the battle Evad notices Yggdrar is noticeably injured. Stepping up to him and clasping him on shoulder.
Storm and salt, brother!
He then touches him with a wand.
Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Feeling confident that did the trick. Evad steps to the side and begins to thumb through his well worn leather bound book as if trying to recall something of importance. While the party examines the spoils.
