Olga takes her spear from the ground, shrugging her head as to shake off a drowsy feeling. Once her vision becomes clear once more, she thrusts her spear aside Jalthas, aiming for the Derro's bowel.

Move action to pick up Ranseur, Swift action to enter Grabbing style, Free action to rage, Standard to attack!

The derro takes a step back, Masym throws his spear but the corner throws him off, the derro casts a spell and then darkness appears. Jalthas, Masym, Olga, Rathor, and Salouris is in darkness.

Before moving into the room, he's going to attempt a trip attack with his whip.

If that failed by 10 or more, the derro trips him.

He's going to draw an attack of opportunity moving past the derro. Once he gets to the other side, he uses a swift action to enlarge. Whip in one hand, longsword in the other.

Salouris stumbles back down the hallway out of the darkness. The elf readies his bow and prepares to fire at the derro, if he emerges from the entrance or a back exit.


@Rathor: That failed attempt was not more than 10.
@Nerissys: You just barely failed that attempt.

Seeing Rathor grow in size, the derro makes a noise that sounds like a language but no one can understand, and then strikes Rathor.

Unable to see, Jalthas stays where he is, waiting to feel if something runs past him.

Hearing the battle raging beyond the darkness he mutters, "I cannot let 'im get cut down 'ere. Gotta give it another target 'ere." Gripping his spear tightly he slips around Jalthas and into the darkness using the wall of the building as a guide. He elects to concentrate on dodging the blows from the derro that are sure to come.

From what I can tell, I need a Perception DC 20 from those who have not been attacked by the derro from it's current position, so Masym knows the general location of the derro. And yes, with the flank and bless you miss the derro's DC by one.

Hearing the sound of sword rending flesh, Nerissys moves forward and begins her channel ritual to help her allies. This assumes I do not have to see an opponent to exclude them. If I have to see them. Nerissys will not perform this action until after combat

As Rathor's swing connects with the side of the derro's neck, the darkness disappears and everyone can see the derro fall to the ground with blood gushing out onto the floor. Combat over! I will make a separate post for the conclusion.


The party enters the next room and see that there with straw pallets
are stacks and stacks of cages full of normal rats. On a small table next to those cages is a small, shiny black rat statue—the jet rat. The party also finds a ledger.

Undercommon:
You find that the derro have
slowly increased their slave sales over the last couple of
months, with a huge surge in the last couple of weeks.
There is also a note in the ledger about a human woman
who escaped not long ago and the mite slave that was
beaten to death for allowing it to happen.

Near the barrels is a large chest in which the derro keep their slave sale earnings, 250 gp.
By defeating the derros here and taking the jet rat, the adventurers have slowed the derros’ plans for the future but not stopped them entirely. Kidnappings slow in the city, but continue to expand in the countryside around Cassomir. Rumors begin to circulate throughout the city that the derro menace has been stopped, but some whisper darker tidings, such as the recent spotting of a derro inside the walls of Swift Prison, a rumor the Taldan authorities heatedly deny.
