Table 1: Andrew Harasty, James Martin, KhaozKnight, Revvy Bitterleaf, Kumakawa, and Luke_Parry
Hello, all! I am so excited to run my scenario for you as part of OutPost 1. Please go ahead and dot in the gameplay thread. You can introduce your character now, if you'd like. We will get started on March 5th.
I do strongly recommend that you wait to finalize equipment purchases until after the briefing.

GM Kate |

This is a 3-6! Unless we have a lot of folks who have done the first two books of the AP, I imagine it will be Subtier 3-4.

![]() |

701 is level 6, I hope that doesn't throw any wrenches in the plan, but I'm happy playing down, it fits the character better =)

GM Kate |

That should be fine. If we're looking at high tier once everyone has checked in, we can decide how to proceed.

GM Kate |

Hello, Andrew and Luke! We are now just waiting for Kumakawa.

GM Kate |

Oh, and Luke, this scenario plays just fine with pre-gens. There's no need to leave your other group hanging!

![]() |

I just hope my character won't need to be carried, it started as a proof of concept (Can you make a SF character using classes and races that aren't made for each other? Can you multiclass with it? Basically, 'how to anti-minmax for fun?'). It turned out as an Android SF Forerunner-Envoy 4/Blitz Soldier 1/Operative 1, let's see how that plays.
I have to say there are a few familiar "faces" on the table, OMB nice to see you on the player side for once =P, hello Mike! Andrew, it seems Dart has had quite a few adventures after the one on the red planet!

![]() |

I don't "bounce" with excitement often...but I actually did a little bit when Kate pinged me on this one! :D
Ricardo - great to see you!! And now I, too, get to play alongside Dart instead of GM for him! :P
I just have to convert my character sheet to PbP "code" and the small matter of spending a few (~8,000) credits...and then I should be set!

We are on a very similar boat there, only mine is carrying about 19K unspent credits.. The only thing he bought, was a certain exclusive album on the Commencement =P

GM Kate |

The game is now linked from my profile! Please fill out the first slide with your Perception, Sense Motive, Initiative, and Mysticism if you have it trained, and add your icon to the second slide.

GM Kate |

No worries, Revvy! This is the actual first day, so you're fine.

Now that we have the briefing and "knowledge rolls" done, I am slotting the following boons for Al2O3:
Ally - Basic Hireling Access (Set 2: Yang - Grad Student)
Faction - Dataphiles Champion (Improved)
Personal - None
Promotional - Organized Play (VC) Polo Shirt
Social - Faction's Friend ()()()
Starship - None
Slotless - Starfinder Insignia, Marked Field Agent, Digital Presence
Looking forward to seeing where this all goes! :)

Dart's Boons:
Ally Professional Hireling -- Set 3 (Plachant, Valet) Culture, Medicine, Survival at Level +4
Faction Exo-Guardian Champion (Improved)
Promotional Starfinder T-Shirt
Social Faction's Friend
Slotless Starfinder Insignia, Marked Field Agent

![]() |

Oh, I forgot one, since this is my -701:
Slotless - Starfinder Society Care Package (Elixir of Renewal)

![]() |

That shouldn't be too much of an issue, but thanks for the heads-up! Are you all ready to go in? By the way (and this will come up quite a bit this adventure), I like to move the group on once one player has suggested a course of action and another player has seconded and no one has objected. I'll generally allow retcons if someone meant to do something, but it drags the game on if we wait for everyone to chime in.
Yes. I do this as well as PbP GM. Keep the action moving :)

![]() |

@Everyone: I'm so sorry for not showing up on the regular... this is very unusual for me, but I've been dealing with some personal stuff for about 10 days, apparently it's all sorted now. AND... I got me a new computer, so I can post on the move now =) (last notebook's battery died about a year ago, so it was confined to being a glorified mini desktop computer =P). So starting tomorrow I'll be as active as I can.

![]() |

Going to A5 is fine with Al...I'm just hoping that we haven't lost half our team though...it feels like it's been a god long while since anyone but Al, Rocket, and 701 have said anything...

![]() |

Am here. Just did not have anything significant to post. Lots of insignificant fluff if needed :)

![]() |

Al is a mechanic and a dataphile, not a soldier...he is hoping for one of the exo-guardians to come up with a plan in the face of mounting evidence that manta corps met a "bad end" here, hence his hesitation to keep moving forward without a conversation on "what's our plan?"

![]() |

Just fyi I'm on the road for the next several hours so bot me if needed. Al would want to share what they noticed plus highlight the whole "cast out" part before we moved forward to keep looking around.

GM Kate |

So I absolutely don't mind a little out-of-character discussion if you're trying to decide how to proceed now!

![]() |

We seem to have only a few options available to us, team.
1 - See if diplomacy/trickery gets us into Oshessa's room.
2 - See if we can talk/bluff/sneak our way past Irtine.
3 - We haven't been to the airlock on the southwestern part (bottom-right) of the map, correct?
4 - Violence (either starting @ Irtine's location or in the main chamber).
I have those listed in the order Al 2O3 would prefer, but they are not a tactically-minded person, and would defer to the soldiers/wayfarers/exo-guardians among the party.

![]() |

Violence is always the final solution...if we get caught sneaking we can always start shooting. But if we start shooting trying to sneak is kinda out of the picture.
If we indeed missed a room we haven't tried I'd say we go for that first.
After that it's a toss up between 1 and 2 for me. I can't do diplomacy, but if someone else wants to try I'm all for it. Otherwise I say we cause a distraction and try to sneak in and see what they are hiding.
Unless someone has some useful magic? Charm? Invis? stuff like that?

GM Kate |

I am generally getting the sense that you're ready to press the issue with Oshessa, so I'm going to move on from there. If anyone feels like I'm not taking this the way you want to go, please holler!

![]() |

I think that sums it up. We know there is much she isn't saying, but Dart will give her some time to "fess up"

![]() |

Can you do a Guarded step underwater without a swim speed? Or charge?
According to swim if just means you move half your speed, not that underwater is difficult terrain.
IMO, I would say you can still do the guarded step, but movement is still impeded for charge. But I would like to get your ruling before hand.

GM Kate |

I’ll allow a guarded step with a successful Athletics check to swim, but not if you’re walking along the bottom, which is difficult terrain.

GM Kate |

We are getting near to the end! Could I get society numbers, slotted faction and starting reputation, starting Wayfinder reputation, and day job rolls, please!

![]() |

So, funny story.
In my haste to get Al converted to pbp format on short notice, I forgot to change over a bunch of things that were already on the character's Paizo profile/page...eh...I'll shoot you a msg off-thread about it rather than bore everyone here, GM :)
