My understanding, for what it's worth, is that you DO have to roll for every square.
GM Chyro |
Hey guys,
Kenji, you're right on the part of rolling just once for an opponent.
If you make it, you can move freely through that opponent's normally threatened area.
(Think Jackie Chan dodging every attack a goon tries at him)
However....you make an acro roll against every enemy you choose to avoid in this way.
With that, you rolled for 1 merc and take 1 hit.
Even without flank, they'd hit you unfortunately.
Kenji Nishida |
ok.. thanks, next time I'll roll twice... I htought the +2 difficulty covered the second opponent, but I guess I misunderstood that part. I was channelling a little 3.5 d&d there I guess.
Spenser Quixote |
Did Vassago's last blast, with an attack roll of 18, really not hit? Kinetic Blasts are all touch attacks, right?
Sele the Thorn |
No only certain ones are, his one is a physical blast so it goes agaist ac like a missile.

No doubt it would help to remember the context we're in here; what are we after and who are we up against, again?
GM Chyro |
The vault belonged to an old noble family of Absalom that was expelled a decade ago—the Decklands.
The family was forced out when their patriarch—a man known as Orias—was discovered to have written documents detailing the city’s defenses, documents he intended to hand over to hostile forces loyal to Cheliax.
----------------
A Pathfinder looking into the Decklands and their Chronicle references in Cheliax was attacked and killed ten days ago.
The thugs made off with a copy of his notes—fortunately, he’d already sent us another. We have reason to believe it was the work of the Decklands’ oldest child, a young woman named Celeena.
-----------------
If she were able to get these documents and return them to Cheliax, it would undermine the defenses of the whole city, as well as cause the Society undue headaches.
Here you go.
Spenser Quixote |
Is there anything else we're missing? It seems so, because as stands I can think of too many ways to interpret most of those combinations that would make equal sense.
GM Chyro |
Your call.
As is, someone has to go to the door and make an attempt.
Spenser Quixote |
Oh, well. In that case, I'll start by voting for #6.
GM Chyro |
I'll share that this room has no lightning trap.
Spenser Quixote |
Could you help me make sure I'm up to speed on what we know about these levers?
GM Chyro |
They're rusty and require a str roll 12 to pull backwards.
There's 4 of them.
Now, given four of them, they could be pulled either in sequence, simultaneously....or whatever you come up with.
Spenser Quixote |
We haven't received any hints about these up to this point?
Do any of them have traits that distinguish them from one another?
GM Chyro |
No to both questions.
They are normal levers, connected to presumably the portcullis.
Keera Airbornt |
Those puzzles without any hint confound me. Is not I´m better in the other case, but at least it looks there´s an opportunity to do it right.
Kenji Nishida |
Leaving on a cruise tomorrow and will be gone a week... will have some limited internet access, but it's never good on board... feel free to bot me as necessary.
GM Chyro |
Sele, you're up on the viking ship.
Are you taking the kill?
GM Chyro |
Ehm Sele, i've got to mention, you'll be wandering into old aquaintances soon.
Sele the Thorn |
Hmmmmmmm.... dude with a Great Axe?
GM Chyro |
You guys might want to get down there and help Sele asap, though with caution.
Those bones are weak in hp, but deadly in potential with fire dmg on attack, proximity and death.
GM Chyro |
Not for another 7 hours and a few minutes.
But i'm taking into account people being busy during the christmas days.
Sele the Thorn |
Merry Christmas all it's the 25th here.
Sele the Thorn |
We occasionally use ace .. I prefer awesome. ..
GM Chyro |
Okay, it will be so.
I looked back, fyi, on the diplomacy rolls.
24 was rolled for talking with lady Natalya and 26 to convince Skelg the Ripper to go with her to Irissen.
Kenji Nishida |
Happy new year, everyone!
Keera Airbornt |
I´ve done what I can to help Vassago. But having being blinded before realizing what was happening and after that separated from him by a Dretch and a cloud there´s no much I can do. I´ll accept suggestions.
Vassago, for your part, fake to be completely dead, so she doesn´t attack you, ok?
GM Chyro |
I'd imagine you can squeeze through with a lowered check, now that the dretch is blinded. Being blinded, he's lost his dex after all.
Like you wouldn't provoke an aoo from a blind creature.
After all, he won't see it coming.
Spenser Quixote |
I was always under the firm impression that scorching rays must all be fired at once....
GM Chyro |
To my understanding, yes, but you make a seperate attack roll for each ray fired.
Now in this case, Vassago was the only visible target, with him went down there was no target for the other, unless he was still up.
Vassago Ilsidore |
Yeah, the Fast healing would kick off at the beginning of the round, so it would be unconscious, then my turn. fast healing kick in and I'm conscious at 1 HP and playing dead so that doesn't happen again. My poor silks :P
GM Chyro |
Better the silks of a 300 gp suit than your life.
Now haven't we heard that before? ;)
Spenser Quixote |
I don't know if you'd let me 'bank' that fine greatsword attack I rolled before being stinkbombed out of the room?
GM Chyro |
Sorry m8, unfortunately not.
But you can hack at the thing again, smoke's gone when the dretch' turn comes around.
GM Chyro |
This mission's up next for another group of 4 lvl 3.
I wonder how they'll cope.
GM Chyro |
Sorry for the delay guys.
Promise, chronicles will come tomorrow.
GM Chyro |
Dayjob rolls.
Keera, trapper: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 > 20 gp
Kenji, cartographer: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 > 5 gp
Spenser, Craft (Pergamano): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 > 20 gp
Sele the Thorn |
Lotsa prestige and money and no idea what to do with it
Vassago Ilsidore |
Enchant a weapon or some armor :) Foe fun loot, perhaps Boots of Springing and Striding. Lastly, look into using some PP for scrolls; as a paladin, dispel magic is a 3rd level spell and you can get a scroll with 2 castings for 2PP. It's a fairly easy check to use a scroll if you can cast spells.
Last bit of useful loot is First Aid Gloves from the Pathfinder Society Primer and you can basically get the breath of lifes out of it. 4,500 gold for those.

I take that oil of bless weapon since it's there, but otherwise I've been saving up for mithril full plate - knight in shining armor, accept no substitutes!
