Game Master SinBlade06

Old Orleans is in need of heros. Is this you? A campaign based off of Fallout 3.

Male Human? Shirker/3

I once assaulted a base of Caesar's peeps. That was the funniest part of the entire game. It took me 3 tries to figure out that explosives were awesome. Each try involved me running around like a chicken with his head cut off as they chased me with melee weapons of some sort.
Dynamite + Legionnaires = one happy Tirq.

Marcel, I couldn't agree more. I love the moral choices and stuff, so I'm probably gonna include those in this as well.

Is there anything else that you've done that you feel is worth retelling?

My personal favorite is when I was watching my wife play Fallout 3. (You'd know her as Lilith) She had just reached GNR with the Lyons. Of course, things were going as expected, when the Behemoth showed up.

Naturally, she grabbed the Fat Man and took aim with V.A.T.S. She had a 90% chance to hit it in the head, 75% chance to hit it in the torso. She aimed for the head cause it was a higher hit chance, even though me and my brother were both telling her to aim for the torso, since you'd more than likely hit another body part, still doing all that damage to it.

She missed.

The mini nuke flew right between its head and shoulder, detonating on the other side of the map.

Needless to say, she ended up with her innerds smeared across the building.

M Humanborn

Hah I remember in that history museum in F3 with all the super mutants where you have to get the satellite disk. I sneak attacked a super with a fat man in vats and watched it sail beautifully into its chest in slow motion.

When I got to that behemoth I was woefully underprepared, I remember well. I had to use guerrilla tactics with hunting rifles and whatever the first automatic rifle you get is (not a particularly good one, I remember it had a wooden stock and might have only had burst, not full auto)

Level 40 Turtle

I think my favorite choice of all time, in any game I own, is the choice between saving Kaiden Alenko or Ashley Williams in Mass Effect. They set you up between the two, and you have to choose a team mate to kill. It infuriated me, and I always sit there for 10 minutes weighing the options every time I come to it in-game. To me, its almost a harder choice than picking a starter in the original pokemon

M Humanborn

ah i didnt care because i didnt like either of them.

Female Human 3rd Barbarian

I have played a ton of decision making games, including the walking dead...god that sucked making on the fly choices with maybe a minute to pick...

Also one of the glitches that I had in fallout NV was that I was walking down the street minding my own business and then it randomly does a vats zoom in on a bloatfly that some random NPC killed...talk about odd.

Male Human Paladin 4

I really enjoy the Fiends and other raider action in NV & FO:3.

Sneaking around, hiding behind corners, using a silenced .223 rifle to drop them one at a time, it's just so very intense and engaging.

Plus, you get to pick up all their stuff, patch it into better quality stuff, and sell it for mad caps. All the while getting good karma.

Ahh...sneaky sniper time in Fallout, that which is best in life.

M Humanborn

yep!

Level 40 Turtle

Boom, headshot?

Hey guys!

Sorry for leaving you hanging like that, but things got a little hectic on my end.

I just finished moving into my new apartment, and wouldn't you know it, no internet. Inconceivable!

Anyways, I'll be able to continue GMing on Thursday when I get internet installed there. Until then, do your best to role play a bit. Talk with each other, play a game of Mutant Head Volleyball, something that'll keep you guys occupied for a couple of days.

Thanks for your patience during this difficult time!

Steel be with you all!

Hello again!

I've come to a decision and I want you, the players, to help me make the final decision.

I'm gonna change the way armor and AC is used mainly because it is way too freaking hard to hurt Edward.

I'm thinking what I could do is DR is applied regardless, but you are able to do a minimum of 1 point of damage, depending on the weapon you use.

Let me know if this makes sense: DR is still applied when you are hit, but you don't negate damage completely. If you get hit by a weapon, you take a minimum 1 point of damage from each damage dice dealt.

Enemy has 10 DR/(whatever). You shoot him for 2d8 damage. You roll a 5 and a 3, so you do 2 damage. If you rolled a 6 and a 5, you do 2 damage. If you rolled max (8,8), you do 6 damage.

I'd like your opinion because I think it makes more sense to me, but if it's too confusing, we don't have to.

Male Human Paladin 4

You could just halve all the listed DR.

So my 48 becomes 24/large, and those 6d10 mines and grenades suddenly become quite lethal.

That's not a bad idea...

Of course, everyone else's will too.

If everyone is ok with this, I'll apply it after this combat.

Level 40 Turtle

I'm all for that

The Exchange

Male Human? Shirker/3

Sure. Mine's already low, so that's ok.

Marcel, you didn't roll Initiative in that last post.

Female Human 5/2 Customer service/ Cashier

Sure GM, also I have sent some questions on a possible Divine caster that was not in the allowed list, however I put some explanations on how to make them work in the world.

M Ghoul Engineer 4 (HP 19/27)

dang...

also, i am good with the halving of DR. makes it more dangerous for us, which will be more fun. also i have a second character planned heh (and actually a third).

Female Human 5/2 Customer service/ Cashier

I didn't have a second planned out, but I charged in like an idiot and got myself killed. Hopefully this new one will work out.

Oh, and she's taking Lilith's Pip-Boy. Just to keep things even.

I have a question for everyone.

How would you feel about playing with a 7th player?

Let me know how you guys feel on the issue and I'll let the potential player know the decision.

Male Ghoul Alchemist 3

My only problem with a 7th player is they'll be taking my loot! Otherwise I'm fine with it.

Male Human Paladin 4

I'm game.

The more, the merrier in Fallout.

Especially if they're BoS

Female Human 5/2 Customer service/ Cashier

I am game, the more the better.

Female Human Swamp Druid 4

Also, I present Annabell, AKA Trinity and her Yaoi Gai Tandan to the party for whenever.

Edward! It's not your turn!!

That Paladin perception is taking a toll on you, methinks.

Male Human Paladin 4

Oh right.

Sorry.

Used to other PbP's where we're in different time zones and everyone posts at odd hours.

It's okay man. As long as you keep it track of who's turn it is, combat will go smoothly.

Misposting happens to the best of us.

It's Marcel's turn now, just so everyone knows.

Since I've been including them with this combat, I've added in the Campaign Info section what to expect when a limb is crippled.

If multiple limbs are crippled (head and one arm), they all accumulate, so be warned.

Good shot Marcel!!

M Humanborn

hah well he aint gonna see any vital signs with that roll! yikes

Don, I'm not sure why you did it, so can you explain to me what the cross and palm is about?

Level 40 Turtle

Its a custom I found interesting and thought to add it. The hand is a sign that a warriors passage into the afterlife has been witnessed, and the cross means that the witnessed believed they deserved the equivalent of heaven

Female Human Swamp Druid 4

~Pushes the thread~ Gais!! Hello? We still playin this? I have been waiting since Tuesday! ~sad face~ I do not want all the pbps I are in to die!

I am sleep deprived and hyped up on caffeine deal with the spelling!!!!!

M Humanborn

i wont let this die if i can help it. if i have to make every PC myself.

M Ghoul Engineer 4 (HP 19/27)

Ill give it a shot to remove the pip boy but I dunno what skill that is.

Engineering is needed. You should be able to make it. Take a ten and you'll be able to take it off.

Also as a notice to everyone, your DR has been halved. Make the appropriate changes and be ready for a fight.

M Humanborn

Ok I autosucceed on a dc10 engineering.

M Humanborn

BIG BUMP!

I'm waiting on you guys to decide who is going and who is staying. As soon as you have that sorted out, we will go ahead and continue.

M Humanborn

Staying:
Marcel
Scab

Going:
Annabell
Edward
Crispy (pretty sure, although hasn't specifically called it outright)

Don? it has been 4 days. Knowing him, he would go with the others and not likely stay with the mine removal detail.

Male Human Paladin 4

Agreed.

Although I'd like to keep within earshot, if not actual line of sight to our minesweepers.

Male Ghoul Alchemist 3

I haven't said that I am going, but I probably will go.

Male Human Monk 3

sry, Father had to go on a trip, and mom doesn't have internet

M Humanborn

hah a centaur playing a piano. now i have read everything.

Human Alchemist 4|Init +1|HP 39/39|Fort 5|Ref 4|Will 4|AC 15

Can we have someone to play look-out? We're going to be distracted...

Male Human Paladin 4

No problem. Edward doesn't really want to hang out with a centaur bar...so he'll return to the mine team once he sees that.

So now I give you guys a classic bar scene. I feel like I'm making a movie or something.

Are you guys having fun? I feel like the drops in posts shows a lack of enjoyment.

Human Alchemist 4|Init +1|HP 39/39|Fort 5|Ref 4|Will 4|AC 15

This is one of my favorite games; i'm just not posting as much because I'm busy outside mine-hunting.

I hear they are as hard to find as snipes :D

M Ghoul Engineer 4 (HP 19/27)

same here, if i were in the bar id be doing something. but it just makes sense for those of us with the skills to be the ones disarming these things

M Ghoul Engineer 4 (HP 19/27)

although, no one greeted the group that just walked in. not sure if that was oversight on your part or an intentional thing to show the lack of hospitality on the part of the patrons and staff. although if the bar had a group of people just walk in and stand there gawking, someone likely would have said something.

and Ed did kinda talk, albeit to no one in particular
