Chuffy sets the table he's under on fire.
Smuz yelps in pain from the attack. Then, with a snarl, he stabs back at his attacker. And then does it again!
He laughs gleefully and steps to the side to get out of the reach of the female longshanks.
Chuffy remains under the table, coaxing the wooden planks into smoldering.
Smuz's needle double-jabs quickly at the short Longshanks like some kind of new-fangled, steam-powered sewing contraption, leaving tiny punctures like bleeding insect bites.
Poog still rides his anger, closes the short distance and attacks twice in rapid succession. "ZARONGULEEEEEEE!!"
Poog steps forward and, with frightening speed, hits the short Longshanks twice with his stick in rapid succession.
As the bug seems to take forever to move past, she turns to look the other way and notices the halfling still there. Narrowing her eyes, she says as she draws her club and swings at the legs of the halfling.
The short Longshanks, seemingly surprised that Reta is conscious, nimbly hops over her blow at the last second and scowls down at her. Judging her a lesser threat than the accelerated goblins on their feet, he kicks at Smuz once more.
The female, seeing the table with all the colored boxes on it beginning to smolder, squawks in alarm and runs to try to pull them away before they catch fire.
Chuffy pops out from under the table to take a poke at the woman.
Dog Slicer
Smuz shrugs off the minor blow from the short longshanks, barely even feeling it. He continues to stab rapidly.
Poog flails his stick at the short-meaning-his-size-so-really-medium-sized long-shanks. The unexpectedly insightful thought derails his fury somewhat and his attacks aren't particularly effectual.
Cranky cause she missed so badly, Reta tries again to take the legs out from under the halfling.
Smuz's rapid needle is more effectual than Poog's dizzying stick. Between the two speedy enemies, it seems unlikely that the short Longshanks even notices Reta's clumsy flail. On the positive side, she does manage to hit the bug she had forgotten about.
The male short Longshanks swings again at Smuz, connecting with a solid fist. The female kicks at Chuffy but seems more concerned with protecting the box in her hands.
Chuffy delights in continuing to harass the female.
Dog Slicer
Smuz snarls angrily as he definitely feels the latest punch laid on him. With a yell of, "SMUZ GOBLIN!" he continues his relentless attack.
Alas, his anger at the damage he's taken distracts him and makes his attacks much less effective.
Sadden by the pretty, squashed bug, Reta scowls at the halfling. she accuses as she stands up, tired of being on the ground.
Smuz's needle is no less speedy, but it is less accurate this time around.
Poog doesn't quite understand his fighting rhythm - his angry outburst kind of abated already; Surely Zarongel was favoring him.
Poog's wildly-flailing club scores another minor bump on the male short Longshanks, while Reta gets to her feet and is almost put back on the ground by the short Longshanks's fist.
Both the male and the female manage to hit their opponents.
Chuffy recoils from from the woman's massive blow. Only now does he notice huge hands on that woman. He flees from her running around the table.
Smuz recoils from the ferocity of the latest punch on him. Blood trickles down his chin. With a yell of rage, he presses his attack.
Realizing he needs a little extra boost to keep from passing out, Smuz then takes a step back.
Poog keeps on wailing at the short longshanks!
As she takes notice of the cake again, she can no longer resist wanting her own piece of cake and eating it too. Taking a step over near the table, she grabs a handful and shoves it whole in her mouth.
Smuz's knitting needle makes a final stab, and the male short Longshanks falls to the ground, bleeding from multiple puncture wounds.
Poog finds the short Longshanks much easier to hit now that he's prone and unconscious! He batters him happily while Reta samples the sugar-rich cake.
The female short Longshanks lets out a piercing shriek, seizes another box from the table before the licking flames can reach it, and takes off in the direction of the farmhouse.
Speaking of licking flames. Chuffy takes out his lick toad and licks it.
Smuz pulls out his toad, licks it, and feels quite a bit better.
Smuz joins the toady acid trip.
A wicked little thought spreads through Poog's mind as he sees the short longshank skitter away. Swiftly he dives under the table to break vision to himself then sneaks out again after her as fast as he can, a bit to the outside, the far right to swoop in on her from an unexpected angle - tackle straight at her legs to try and bring her down.
Despite her arms being full with the packages, the female spies Poog approaching out of the corner of her eye and kicks out at the goblin as he dives for her legs. Her heel meets his chin with a painful thunk that rattles his teeth ... but he just manages to grab hold of the kicking foot as well and tumble her prone on the ground.
Seeing the other goblins lick their toads, Reta scowls at them for having all the fun. Just to show them, she pulls out her toad and licks it with one big slurp, nearly biting its head off.
The short Longshanks scrambles to her feet...
"NO! Crybaby stay down!"
The short Longshanks scrambles to her feet...
... and, absorbing a rap from Poog's stick, continues to make for the farmhouse.
Chuffy chases after the fleeing woman. He throws a dart at her.
Dart
Laughing gleefully at how much better he feels, Smuz rushes forward, using his enhanced speed to swing round in front of the fleeing woman. Then he stabs at her.
Chuffy's dart goes wide, but the female short Longshanks gapes in amazement as the blue goblin dashes around to cut her off. His needle fails to penetrate her now dirty and bedraggled satin skirts.
Poog chases after the escapee, making sure to leave a suitable spot for Reta to come charge in.
Feeling as fast as fast can be, Reta runs with a blazing speed right at the halfling, swinging with all her little might at her.
Surrounded, the female has little choice but to fight back. She edges around Smuz toward the farmhouse, kicking defensively at the blue goblin.
Chuffy takes a bit of a round about way to end up next to the female opposite Smuz and slashes at her. "Die you." He curses at her.
Dog Slicer
Chuffy's dogslicer cuts deeply into the short Longshanks, and with one last shriek, she falls to the ground in a flounce of her smoldering skirts, the colorful boxes tumbling from her hands. For a moment, the only sounds are the squealing of the animals in their pens and the cackling of the other Licktoads as they swarm over the farm, finishing off the fallen enemies and grabbing any shiny or sharp things they can find.
Poog returns to the aflame table and snatches one of the colorful boxes before it gets too charred. He nearly burns himself patting down one errant lick of flame. "Zarongulee says Licktoads are best and we's get to eat cake!"
Still on a hasted high, Smuz begins running in circles, laughing and calling out, "Smuz goblin! Smuz goblin!"
She then removes the veil from the halfling and puts it on. Giggling, she prances around all fancy like. She giggles again at the thought of how much prettier she is than... well... everyone.
Chuffy picks up one of the presents that fell and, with blushing cheeks, offers it to Reta.
As a great big smile forms, Reta takes the present shyly. she says, covering her mouth as she giggles before skipping around in fun.
