Don't forget to keep an eye on the Campaign Info tab and follow the Expedition Journal. All discoveries will be written there.

Nifty work you've done with that Campaign Tab. I like it.

Why thank you.

So the personae list... are those folks we will meet in the castle or are the PCs going to be listed there?

Ritti Rallo wrote:

People, historical figures and named horrors.

Excellent! I've added the Fang of Nostram to Ritti's sheet and updated all the pertinent info.

This should be heaps fun.
I could see some groups getting ahead of others who post more often though.

There's no such thing as "ahead".

Everyone levels up at the same time.

The only difference is that one person may go through more rooms/areas quicker, hence Ritti's fast progression as a solo run. Dangerous, but first pick at goods.

You may also eventually encounter each other of course.

And there's always the risk that you don't make it to the end.

Moreover, Herald is the 'bottleneck' for advancing the plot. He's under no obligation to respond to any particular player/group until he is ready. That's an easy way to keep folks moving at roughly the same pace.

I'm answering very quickly tonight to get things moving, but likely it'll be one to two posts a day later. Make your posts count, use all the skill checks you can.

Sounds good to me

Honestly, while I don't mind soloing Ritti for awhile, she'll be looking to hook up with some other folks. I don't know what kind of monsters are lurking here, but she isn't a killing machine. I've got a strong feeling that cooperation will pay off for all of us.

Who knows? More dibs at Relics alone...

True enough but I tend to be a team player. :) Although, having a young girl like Ritti turned into a hideous corrupted being and stalking the other characters could be fun. >:)

That is a pretty tempting gameplay option :p
I might go loner for a bit or luckily enough encounter Ritti if I can escape. But I dont want to leave people behind just because I can post more often

Yeah having NO idea what the scale of this castle is... eesh. We could be right next door or miles away. I can see some interesting play dynamics kicking in here. You really don't have to stay with the group because it isn't a linear mission... so if Eiron wants to explore #17 the Oubliette and Toothy thinks #21 The Sea of Sorrows has more potential, you can easily split up and do what you want to do while potentially benefiting everyone (and yourself by snagging artifacts).

This is just a really, really clever setup. My hat is off to you on this one, Herald. It's a fantastic design and I may have to steal some parts of it. :D

Thank you very much. It means a lot to me. And Ritti has it down right, groups can form and dissolve at any time. There are certain rooms out there that may require certain skills and talents that are unavailable to your character.

As to the size of the castle.. well, you may notice Group #3 is on a ship...

"I'm on a boat...and don't you forget it."

Time to see if Archibald is around.

I did, indeed, notice that. Who do we have to kill to get an aerial map of the complex? :D

BTW, if one of the 'Personae' is Strahd Von Zarovich or Azalin, I'll declare Ritti's actions right now.
1) Hamstring whatever poor bastard she is exploring with.
2) Sprint away like her life depended on it.

Garr'ak will smash Ritti with big hammer if she try to hamstring. That or bite her face off.

Male half-orc Adept

Cralisoft wonders if Garr'ak or Ritti has the bigger bite.

Those would be preferable deaths compared to what Strahd or Azalin would cook up. :)

She might have the bigger die, but Garr'ak has the strength to back it up.

I'm getting itchy for action, I might have to pass up the chance of waiting on a partner.

Male half-orc Adept

Cralisoft, the calm, thinks patience is always a wise course. Unless somebody attacks your allY AND theN you shouLd smITe ThEm from the worLd!

No, no Strahd... but Expedition to Castle Ravenloft was a bedside companion of mine when planning this adventure. (Along with Heroes of Horror, Book of Vile Darkness and Carrion Hill.)

I feel if there is a thought within your thought and its meaning is eluding me.

Male half-orc Adept

Cralisoft has many thoughts in head. Skeletons and boats and prisons Cralisoft sees on eyelids. Tea is warm.

Would you be opposed to Garr'ak starting to inspect the room to a further degree as he finds his companion unresponsive?

Nope, feel free to... attempt to move. However, I'll be answering the gameplay posts tomorrow as university classes demand me to sleep a bit.

I'm in Montreal Canada by the way.

Attempt? Are we shackled as well?

I'm in the United States within the borders of a state named Missouri myself which puts me an hour behind you.

I'm in Connecticut - so EST.

Male half-orc Adept

heh... MO, but usually work nights... more often this is when I waking up, not going to sleep

Australia ftw :)

Herald can you give me some idea of the direction I started in leading to the main gate? I have this forlorn hope that some rough mapping might help me out later on. :)

If you'd rather not, that is fine, too. I'll just pick a random start direction.

I'll be updating the Expedition Journal with compass directions from other linked areas.

Male half-orc Adept

So the numbers on front page = location?

Cralisoth, the Calm wrote:

The number is simply their order of discovery. In brackets you'll find the direction to linked areas, allowing you to draw up a map.

Male half-orc Adept

Sorry, mean on the Info tab

Oh, then yes. Those are current location.

Are we considered to automatically know the powers of any relics we come across?

Garr'ak the Toothy wrote:

Yes. Anything in the Expedition Journal is known to every player.

Good to know.

You a fan of Latin, Herald?

A fan of Latin? Yes, why?

I'll be at my girlfriends house all night so the next updates will be tomorrow, probably early afternoon east coast time. Have a good evening fellas.

Herald of Omens wrote:

The name of the ship... I was curious if that was happenstance or intent. Since you like Latin, I'll go with intent. :D

Male half-orc Adept

Cralisoft hopes the orcish one watches out for that door. Cralisoft thinks he is trying too hard to be quiet. Cralisoft is not sure it is working.

On purpose. But I am glad you noticed it. Keep an eye out, there may be more latin around.
