@GM: Not trying to rules-lawyer my way out of a grapple, but I'm not 100% sure of what's going on right now? Spoiler tag to avoid Wall of Text.
Grapple SAYS:
Grab SAYS:
Emphasis mine in both spoilers.
Bottom line, did the vines move Bock? If they didn't move Bock, that's the partial grapple from the Grab ability, so the vines should be taking -20 to their CMB?
Either way, Bock should be down for the count, since you didn't roll constrict damage when the grapple was established.
Constrict SAYS:
With one slam for 10 damage and one constrict for 13 damage, Bock is at 2 hp, and one Constrict damage roll is missing.

Hiko takes out another bolt and notches it into her crossbow. She gives a start when Estra taps her on the shoulder, before looking around a realizing that she'd been blocking the way. Taking a step over, and realizing the common sensations of a guidance spell, she turns to Estra. "Sorry for being in the way! Also, I'll freely admit I'm not the most skilled of fighters, and I am working on it, but helping someone more talented might not be a bad idea..."
The cleric then takes a moment to recenter herself and pulling on the guidance the older woman so benevolently provided, fires a shot at the vines being harassed by the spiritual sword.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Bock, it conducted the grapple normally and moved you to the nearest adjacent square. It also has the Constrict special ability, so it dealt damage. Because this was my mistake in not applying the Constrict damage when I rolled the Grab ability the first time, I did not penalize Bock by applying the damage later. If I make an error that would cause harm to a character and the error is my fault, I personally don't penalize the character; I feel it's unfair to retroactively do nasty things to a character, especially in PbP where it could have happened days ago.
The westernmost vine is hit twice by Daedin's arrows and quivers violently before going limp and lifeless! Seelah's swing misses the vine, but Hiko's bolt hits the other vine with a wet thunk! The Red Raven's shot fires, but misses as the vine recoils from the bolt that Hiko fired!
Round 3: Bock and Estra are up!

Estra by Zin |

"Eh, I'm happy to help the back line, too, Missy. You were here, so you got it." Still, though, Estra steps up into the space made for her by Hiko and grants guidance to Daedin instead as she redirects Honaire's sword to a new target.

Seelah's left hand migrates towards her neck, tracing the ligature marks made during the battle. Wincing, she giggles nervously. "Well, seems that hit a bit closer than I realized..."
Pulling a carved, ebony branch from her pocket, she traces the lines. With a whispered "By the power of Iomedae, I'll not die this day."

Estra by Zin |

Estra take a moment before they leave the room with the vines. "I should've done this earlier. I always imagine that the Venture Captains ain't gonna send is into immediate danger... but I'm usually wrong. Need to learn to call Honaire early... 'cause he don't come quick."
She pulls out a censer and some incense and begins preparing a space in the center of the room. She sits on the floor, unconcerned with the cold stone, and draws her shawl around her shoulders as she begins breathing in the incense, muttering unintelligible words underneath her breath as she begins summoning her companion.
Though she said he doesn't come quick, it's barely a minute before a ghostly apparition appears in the incense smoke, tall and knightly but composed entirely out of a translucent green ectoplasm.
Summoning Honaire in his ectoplasmic form; 1 minute ritual
"There you are, hubby! These are the new Pathfinders they've sent us out with this time." She waves to the group, and the ghostly eyes travel over them all, but it's uncertain to what degree he recognizes what he's told, as he doesn't speak or nod. "This is Honaire, my loyal husband. Couldn't bear to be without me, so stuck around after he died. Extravagant gesture--as was always his wont--but appreciated nonetheless. He stayed as young as he ever was, and still loves all this!" He laughs a bit as she indicates her old body.
They both stay with, but behind Daedîn, as they group wanders over to the room with the pool.

The pool holds nothing but clear cold water. However Daedin spots a word, worked into the decoration on the wall, and speaking it causes the water to steam and warm to a pleasant bathing temperature. Speaking it again causes it to become cold.

The short hallway opens into a longer, wider hallway going north to south. To the south, alcoves hold what looks like shrines. To the north, a large room is dominated by a statue of a snake with the head of a man, with a smaller horrible winged demon perched below it.
Which way: north or south?

I would love to have something like this back home in the manor he remarks.
"You and me both, a bath in there would be SO relaxing. But now's not the time."
________________________North is good.

RePete Pregen |

Grining slyly, Seelah nods. "Yes, it would be quite enjoyable to bath in such a fashion. Though to do so here would be sacrilegious. Perhaps one day, Iomedae will see me worthy of such a self serving pleasure."
North works for me

Estra by Zin |

"Hoo-hoo! Don't we live fancy lives! If I ever let myself take a bath like that, these old bones would never want to leave. Don't trust myself with it, nope! I'll stick with my sponge and soap; there's more to life than a warm bath, younglings!"
Estra follows the group to the north, chuckling as she goes, with Honaire staying close and keeping a stoic watch over the proceedings.

![]() |

Curious as to what or who this Honaire that Estra keeps talking about Hiko watches the ritual with avid interest. As his form seems to coalesce in the mist, Hiko's eyes widen with surprise. "So Honaire is a ghost? You can call on ghosts? Wow! That is amazing! Can I touch him?"
As the older woman keeps talking and finally mentions that this man is, well was, her husband, Hiko's eyes bulge slightly. "Wait, is that what you meant by your husband 'coming back'? I was afraid you joined the pathfinders because your estranged spouse tried to come back into your life and you were running away from him... This is a much better situation."
At the pool, Hiko looks over Daedin's, Honaire's and Estra's shoulders to try get a good look at the baths. When she does, she shakes her head. "You can definitely see the Minkain influence here. That is something anyone from there would love to have."
When the group comes to a T-intersection, Hiko points off to the north. "How about we go that way? I'm curious as to what that statue is of."

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Going north, you enter a large room dominated by two statues. Coiled in the eastern alcove is the statue of a cobra-like snake with a contemplative humanoid face. Parts of the statue have crumbled and fallen to the ground, though enough detail remains to see sadness in the creature’s stony eyes. The leering demon face looks... well, leering.

Estra looks at Hiko with a sharp eye. "Did you really just ask to touch my husband?" Her voice has lost all frivolity, and her eyes stare daggers.
Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
"Bahahahahahaha!" She bursts out with laughter followed by a friendly slap on the shoulder. "Whoooo, I had you there!"
She shakes her head at amusing herself. "Oh go ahead, you can touch him; he's there. A sword'll slice him, that's for sure. But I don't even know if it's really him, or just something out of my mind. He won't tell me why he came back, but he protects me as well as he ever did."
She looks up at him wistfully.
"It's nice to have him around."

Estra by Zin |

Estra ceases her reverie and finally looks at the statue everyone else has turned to. "Well, that's ugly. Sad man-snake and the creepy demon."
"I guess this is all about the Whispering Tyrant, somehow. Couldn't've expected it to be all daffodils and sugar candy. Anybody got an idea who these figures might be?"
No history here either.

At Estra's words of anger, Hiko does a brilliant impression of a Deer caught in the lamplight of a speeding coach. After a second she starts trying to stammer out something before Estra breaks her bluff.
Rebuffed and thoroughly embarrassed, Hiko gives a shy nod and slowly, very carefully, with her eyes half one Estra, reaches out to touch the spirit. "He's goo... uh, very soft!"
He seems nice to have around, especially if he takes care of you.
