I wanted to check for invisible, but I don't have anything that allows me to.

How high is the ceiling here? My idea is to use Stone Shape from the Staff of Heaven and Earth to capture them inside of a column of stone. Move first, though.

I've no idea what they are.

Eyes going wide in shock, they immediately reform to a glare. "Back off ya blasted... whatever ya are! Get back, lad!" The dwarf's anger rises rapidly, as usual, and he moves in toward the nearest beast with amazing speed hoping to, at the very least, make it think twice.

Aurora has see invisible as a permanent enchantment, if the creatures go invisible again she'll shout out their locations to everyone

Unable to see what's going on but hearing the sound of combat and seeing Thordak move in, Aurora flies in to the new room. Quickly taking stock she brings forth force darts and sends them spiraling in to the creature closest to Thordak.

Thordak's axe takes a chunk from one, as Lym and Aurora's magic hits it. It staggers backwards, then the stone column rises up and traps them.

Or so you may think...

ROUND TWO: hounds, then group.

The two remaining hounds suddenly appear in the angle created by the column and the floor. They leap into the air and place themselves out of Thordak's reach and out of Praxim's line of sight. The hounds turn their alien eyes on the flying Aurora. The gnome feels her reality ripping and tearing as they stare at her. With some effort, she resists the effects, leaving her sweating and shaking. No game effect, just visual.

AC is 21 with mage armor up so presume 26 damage unless the doggies have something else going on, I don't recognise them IC or OOC! The way you describe them move is unsettling though, bravo :p

Aurora twists and turns but cannot avoid the rending claws of the canine creature, her blood spattering the floor beneath her.

She beats her wings furiously and shifts sideways, enough to get space to summon another ribbon of fire and toss it like a loop over the thing's head.

If Praxim detects evil in this room then Aurora will cast Mirror Image before the party enter, otherwise she's good as she is.


Haven't heard anything additional besides the above, so here we go...

Thordak opens the doors...and the room is blocking with a thick fog...you can see all of 5'.

Now what?

When you can see - I'll let you know!:
This vast chamber might have once been a lecture hall, but now the place is empty of furniture. Six five-foot-wide pillars, each carved with spiraling patterns of runes, rise up to support the hundred foot-high ceiling. Spread through the hall in neatly organized stacks and piles are arcane trappings, candles, books, scrolls, knives, and bundles of powders and ingredients—the entire place looks like an arcanist’s laboratory or storeroom. At the west end of the room, a wide flight of stairs rises up to a stone door in the wall, just north of a twenty foot-wide stage. Here sits a large mound of furs, an immense chair, and a table stacked high with more book and scrolls. An ironbound chest sits under the table against the far wall.

"I can take care of this. I think." Tomaru again uses the Staff of Heaven and Earth. With the staff he can Control the Winds and he causes as potent a gale as he can (severe) to blow the fog away, further into the room.

You just saw generally where he was standing. Not enough to target him without a 50% miss chance. You could of course wait until the fog clears. Same answer for spells.

The second fog clears and Praxim attacks. Two arrows score solid hits, but two others bounce off of Mokmurian's defenses. Aurora's spells create a heat wave and the giant looks hurt...but not as bad as you would expect.

ROUND TWO: Mokmurian goes, then you all. Aurora, I really need to know if you are going in the room. Tomaru, I assume your action is spent dispersing the second fog?

I'm misunderstanding the rounds here.
Pre-Combat: Thordak opens door. There is a fog there. Tomaru clears fog.
Round 1: Room is re-fogged. Tomaru clears fog again.
Round 2: ??? Tomaru can act again?

Also please disregard that Summon Monster from post above. I decided to go with the staff instead.
