OGGM: I think we were very fortunate he failed that save! Spell would have been 3+3+1 so 7 minus 2 for Aurora's traits, so a 5th level spell slot, still a 3rd level spell though. Was fun to try out the newly obtained dazing spell feat so quickly :)

Aurora smiles wearily and summons another ribbon of energy, using the rod to shift its temperature from burning to freezing, the flickering blue light lashes out and engulfs Longtooth.

intensified burning arc (cold damage): 13d6 + 13 + 13 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 4, 6, 2, 1, 4, 1, 4, 4, 1, 6) + 13 + 13 = 71 71 * 1.5 = 106 cold damage, Ref save DC 22 for half

As the chill energy fades from Longtooth, the rod in the gnome's grasp goes dim.

That is the last of the cold I can afflict, we need to finish him now!

she urges the others, panic creeping in to her voice as she realises how few spells she has left that could hurt a creature immune to her fire...

"I still have some ice left," Lym says, grimly, as she rises into the air and hurls down three spheres of blue fire!

On round two, Lym flies up so she can target her Ball Ice spell (Cold Ball lightning) to hit Longtooth, but not Conna or the party; 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 5, 1) + 3 = 15, 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) + 3 = 15 and 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 2, 1) + 3 = 11 cold damage, Ref. DC 20 to negate. Spell penetration 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30.

Ah just realised I made a mistake on my post, damage is just 71 cold for the burning arc as was not empowered!

Aurora spell pen: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Aurora's spell washes harmlessly over Longtooth, foiled by his innate draconian resistance.

Thordak blasts the dragon in the front with his axe. I added too much to his AC for Shield, he has a 32.

Praxim scores two more hits, while Lym's ice spells cause significant harm.

The final blow comes from Conna. She levels her hands in a fan-like shape, pointing them at Longtooth. Lym hears a familiar spell being cast, but instead of fire, rays of acid burst forth and strike the dragon! Bellowing in pain, the dragon stretches its neck skyward, then falls to the ground, dead.

Combat over. You have your dragon...and its hoard.

Dragonscale amulets of natural armor for everyone.

Dragonhide cloaks, belts, and headbands are now available for order.

I hated that dragon. I'm glad we killed it.

Praxim bows to Conna once the dragon goes down. "Thank you for your very timely assistance. I assume now that our quarrel with your clan is completely at an end." He half turns to glance questioningly at Thordak.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

I was looking up dragonscale armour for Praxim, but it just isn't worth it. I'm hoping he'll be able to afford a suit of celestial armour.

"That was.... easier than I expected," Lym says as she floats back down to earth. "Thanks mainly to your cunning alteration of that spell, Aurora. Well done. And of course we owe much to your own ingenious metamagics, Mme. Conna."

The Wizard gives the Giantess a nod of respect.

"Now, then.... Where were we?"

As the dragon dies, his fury recedes and he turns to the conversation at hand. Grumbling quietly to himself at the words of the half-elf, he reluctantly - and I mean really reluctantly - nods in agreement. At least until they come at me clan again. Then all bets are off.

Aurora breathes a sigh of relief, eyes wearily turning to Conna, wary of her turning her own arcane might on the party. With no immediate threat, she nods almost imperceptibly and a smile creeps back on to her lips.

I'm sure we can work out an agreeable truce, plenty of land to go around for everyone and all that! Besides, I think a period of time with each community looking to themselves to rebuild and decide on a sustainable future would be advantageous to all beings of reason who share these Varisian lands

diplomacy: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (17) + 25 = 42

Aurora nods at Lym

That took all of us together, even with his quick demise let us not forget he was a powerful foe and fortune was on our side.

Her eyes twinkle despite the dark shadows underneath them

Though that being said, I've always had the idea in mind that one makes their own luck, with Desna smiling on you from time to time!

Conna nods at Lym and Praxim, standing over the corpse of the huge dragon. "That one was ever a bane for my people, I am glad he wil no longer assail us." She looks over at Aurora. 'The Plateau People do not come here, little one. This place is cursed by the Black Monks. I do not care what you do with Jorgenfist." With that, she reaches down and grabs hold of one of the dragon's large fangs. She plants a foot on the dragon's snout and gives a heave. There is a loud crack! and the fang comes free. "I will take this. It will make a fine talisman."

And then Conna the Wise walks out of the gates of Jorgenfist.

Well then, let's count it, shall we?

Although a carpet of coins covers the innermost section of Longtooth’s cave, most of these coins are copper pieces. In all, the coins consist of 360,055 cp, 43,145 sp, 5,403 gp, and 2303 pp. In addition, the collection of treasure includes several gemstones: a water opal worth 1,000 gp, a rich blue diamond worth 1,600 gp, and a black opal worth 8,000 gp are Longtooth’s favorites, though there are 53 additional gems worth a total of 3,500 gp. A fine linen tapestry depicting monks sparring in a courtyard is rolled up and leans against the wall—this tapestry weighs 50 pounds but is worth 600 gp. Finally, a set of solid silver idols sits on a ledge on the innermost wall. These idols are each worth 600 gp—they depict a wyvern with a human rider, a human warrior trampling a demon underfoot, a centaur dressed in plate mail armor, and a leaping fish with a wide mouth filled with teeth. A sixth idol is in fact made of platinum. It depicts Runelord Karzoug, and is worth 5,000 gp.

Longtooth himself has a amulet of mighty fists +2, a ring of protection +2, and a silver armband worth 2500 gp.
