Aurora hovers, dumfounded as both her and Lym's magic has no effect.

Old Guy GM |

Aurora, I'm going to pull back your Boneshatter.
The weakened forgefiend struggles to stand, but it resists Lym's attempt to Dismiss it. It does not, however, resist the raging Thordak. The dwarf deals the final blows to finish the creature.
Somehow my Will save rolls didn't show here, I may have copied over them by accident.

Lym Blackhand |

Dang. :| I was looking forward to using that spell and looking cool, especially with Tomaru's excellent backup Tugging the strings.... *sigh* Maybe some other time.
Lym floats back to ground level, her expression grim behind the veil and mask.
"Let us hope that was the worst this fiend has to offer," she says, "but not expect it. Well done, Thordak. Let's hurry and get to this wizard as quickly as we can."

Thordak Ironheart |

Breathing a heavy sigh of relief as his fury subsides, "Whew! Thank Torag! Man I hated that thing. It was cheatin' by hidin' in the blasted walls," he complains as he takes a moment to rest before moving on.
Hp's 105/148; Rage 17/31; 2 rounds of fatigue which he will wait out.

Tomaru |

While Thordak regains his breath, Tomaru summons the curative powers of his god to heal the group and then himself.
Channel Positive Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 6, 4, 3) = 23
Cure Critical Wounds: 4d8 + 12 ⇒ (1, 6, 8, 4) + 12 = 31
I've only one more channel left. This is about to get tougher.

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

All heald up thanks Tomaru :)
I agree Master Thordak, most unsporting of the entity! Still, your superior martial might vanquished it quite decisively I feel.
She flies around the room, stretching her wings.
I am ready when you each are

North it is...
This long hallway has a looming ceiling forty feet above and is decorated with an intricate display of stone supports and beams. The walls are carved in long swaths of densely scribed runes—the seven-pointed star is repeated often. To the east, the hallway has caved in entirely—a battered door protrudes from the rubble, but the hall beyond is completely filled with detritus. To the west, the hall ends at an immense bronze double door that bears a huge mirror-like silver inlay of the ubiquitous seven-pointed star. This set of doors has no obvious hinges, handles, or locks, save for a single tiny star-shaped indention at the center of the larger mirrored star.

Lym Blackhand |

Yeah. I thought there were no updates for several days. o_o
"Those should be harmless," Lym whispers, gesturing at the Thassilonian writing. "Prayers to a 'Peacock Spirit' to calm and prepare the mind of anyone who wants to use the library."
The Wizard narrows her eyes at the mirrored door with its indentation.
"Odds are good that requires a special key.... Such as a Sihedron amulet."

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

Aurora whistles quietly
They sure knew how to build to impress back in the day...
As Tomaru brings forth the medallion, she can't help but swoop in to take a closer look
Shiny...
she stares raptly.

Tomaru |

"Well if this door doesn't want to open, we could try back the other way. There looks to be door partly open already. We can come back here later."

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

It was worth a try Tomaru!
smiles Aurora
Let's go with partly open one then.
She follows the cleric to the door and waits for Thordak to go through.

Thordak Ironheart |

Shrugging, "Alright. I was gonna try and bust it open but later sounds fine. Partly open it is," Thordak agrees, leading the way.

Lym Blackhand |

"I do have Knock prepared, you know. I could give it a try, but there are no guarantees it will work."

Thordak Ironheart |

Thordak shrugs. "Doesn't matter to me, lass. Any door works for me. As long as we can kill what's behind it, I won't complain." He then cuts his eyes upward a moment in thought before, "Well... not a lot anyway."

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

Let's save the magic for now and try the partly open door first...

Lym Blackhand |

Lym will refresh her Detect Magic-spell and likewise scan through the partially open door.

Lym Blackhand |

"I am going to hang back," Lym whispers to the others. "We still have a Wizard to fight, and I might need my remaining spells to counterspell his.... if I can. If things go south in there, I'll cast as best I can. Fair?"

Praxim |

"I'd prefer to fire into the room and draw them out here, if possible. Maybe position our hand to hand folks on either side of the door, open it wide if it'll go, and I'll try to lure them out with arrows."

Thordak Ironheart |

"Sounds good ta me, lass ... and elf. You bring 'em out and I'll kill 'em. Or I guess we all will. Well, except for the lass there," he nods toward Lym, "who's savin' her spells and all that. Possibly the lad too," he mentions, nodding towards Tomaru. "But maybe not, I'm not real sure. Maybe Aurora too," he shrugs, not too confident about that either. "Who else has magic?" He looks at everyone, just now realizing it's only he and Praxim left. "Oh. Well I guess it's just you and me, lad. Let's get 'em!" He then moves to the door and waits for the signal to pull the door open wide so the elf can do his part and bring the bad guys to them.

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

Never mind Master Thordak, as you say, just stand there and hurt anything that isn't us!
Aurora flits to a close by location so she has line of sight to the door without being in the way, then nods to Praxim that she's ready.

Tomaru |

"I don't have your prowess, my friend, but with a moment to prepare, I am a potent combatant. For instance..." He then casts Divine Favor as he moves to stand next to the door opposite Thordak.

Lym Blackhand |

Lym floats upward, keeping an eye on the door but getting well out of the way.

Praxim |

The plan is for Thordak to yank/shove the door open all the way and for Praxim to feather whatever is wandering around in there. Praxim will aim at one that's within 30 feet.

Lym Blackhand |

Lym hovers above, ready to hurl a Force Dart (1d4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 3 = 5 force damage)at the first enemy to exit the room, at least.

Old Guy GM |

Thordak pushes the door open and...nothing. There is nothing that can be seen moving in the room.
This strange, empty room has been smoothed over to an even greater extent than the other chambers in this complex—every angle of the walls has been modified into a gentle arc, removing any element of harsh regular lines entirely from view. Patches of what appear to be scorch marks stain the walls and floors here and there, especially to the south, where part of the wall has fallen away.
Map is up; your move.

Tomaru |

Tomaru uses Bit of Luck on himself and enters the seemingly empty room. He knows it can't be so easy, though, and is wary for any trouble.

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

Aurora holds her breath as Praxim scouts inside the room, her fingers twitching as she waits to unleash her magic.

Old Guy GM |

Want to be clear here: Tomaru is in the room. Praxim is scanning from the hallway, Thordak is looking into the room. The map is up. Lym and Aurora can NOT see into the room from where they hover in the hall.
Tomaru steps into the room, but does not see anything. The odd curves of the room immediately causes a mild headache with its alien geometry. He hardly has time to contemplate that fact when 3 figures appear next to him! These gaunt quadrapeds bare their fangs and attack!
