Ok, down to business. Since we *can* make up a coherent group we may as well. I intend to start at level 1 and see how we go as people inevitably drop in and out.
Can you let me know if you can't see This?
I'm also assuming everyone has at least browsed the guide to psi on the main society page. That leaves just two questions:
1) Core or Regular?
2) Do we start with the six short quests, or one of the Low tier scenarios?

PR, check the link near the bottom of the page.
Edit: This link is more direct. Note that even though the page says purchase, the pdf is free.
Hello, everyone!
I am happy to play anything, although 6 short quests sounds intriguing.
I can see the Pfs link.
This time I promise not to muscle Aubrey out of his character concept. (Although I do maintain that there's always room for multiple martial characters.)

Ok, no one too worried about Core vs Normal so may as well stick with regular.
If we go with the quest route to start with, like I said before you need to use an iconic, which means we can get going right away, and can build out the other characters later as we get close to starting a "normal" scenario.
The list of Iconics that are available at level one is Here.... there's quite a bit of choice!

Right, in that case, everyone pick an Iconic (Name changes are totally acceptable).
I plan to run through all six quests, you get 1 XP for each quest, so will end up with a level 3 character when we start the other scenarios (assuming you apply all of the XP to the same character, you don't have to). I don't *think* the pregens are supposed to level, so I'll just award the one chronicle once we finish all 6 quests.
It would also be good if you registered a character to apply the chronicle to, but that can happen anytime between now and when I report this after we've done all six.
Once you've picked pre-gens I'll kick off the discussion thread.

Barbarians are fun (though ironically rarely have a sense of humour); the Bloodrager from Advanced Class Guide also looks quite bad ass.
I am thinking of going with an Occult class, have been flipping through the book to see what is what. I am quite liking the Occultist and Kineticist at the moment.

Slayer was quite fun to play, but that was a higher level version of the iconic, so not sure how much the level one version will storm through combat
Mothman: Occultist or Kineticist maybe?
Aubrey: Martial - Barbarian or Bloodranger
Wintergreen: ??
Therealthom: ??
Pixie Rogue: ??
The iconics are actually a free download anyone can grab, but if you want me to drop you the PDFs for any drop me your email in a PM.

Ok, I'm pretty certain I will go with the pregen occultist, unless someone else had their heart set on it. Now, are name changes certainly acceptable? But no other change?
If I like playing that particular pregen, is there anything stopping me creating a Society character that is identical (or close to identical) in stats to the pregen, giving it the same name, applying the credit to it, and then continuing to play that character in subsequent PFS scenarios?

![]() |

Nope, that's perfectly acceptable.
Mothman: Occultist
Aubrey: Martial - Barbarian or Bloodranger
Wintergreen: ??
Therealthom: Probably Vigelante
Pixie Rogue: ??
Just waiting for pixie and Dave to pick...

That's a bit odd. There are 6 quests, each quest is about 2 encounters. You get 1 XP for each quest (which seems like really easy pickings XP wise). But you do the quests in whatever order you like. So I don't think I'll actually apply the XP until after all 6 are done, which means a character will effectively skip level 2.
Once we move off the quests and onto the scenarios proper, then you are on build your own character anyway, with the XP these pre-gens earned applied. So you either go Mothman's route and continue as though you just skipped level 2, levelling how you like. Or you build a new char that basically starts at level 3.
It makes a bit more sense when you se how the chronicles are structured.

Nevynxxx, is a sex change ok as well as a name change?
Can't see why not, it doesn't change the in game attributes.
Oh, yes. How does this faction business work?
You pick one.... In most scenarios (although not the quests) you get tasks to do for your faction, and prestige for completing them (which converts to being able to purchase better equipment). The points earned impact the way the overall story of the society progresses...
Dave is a good person to ask, but he's house hunting at the moment and can't get at the boards from work so he's a touch erratic....

So, I'm digging Zasha as vigilante. New class, dex-based TWF, which is something I've wanted to try for a long time, but never have. But the class is a mechanical vehicle to make the Green Hornet. I am a little worried about facing a society game without a serious skills PC or healer.
I could still change her to something roguish or oracle or cleric.
Nevynxxx, since I won't be able to take Zasha past the quests, how do I register the credit for my other society PCs?

![]() |

You just let me know the PFS number of the PC you want the credit to apply to. It's something I'll be asking when I get towards the end of the quests to sort out the chronicles anyway.
I'm pretty happy for you to change at this point, I'm still waiting for Dave to pick a PC.

I seem to recall reading that if you are running pregens you need to stick to the Grand Lodge faction?
As for classes and range of abilities, I guess in a Society game you never know who is going to turn up at the table and what character they will bring. It's probably far from uncommon to have certain 'essential' skills missing from a group; hopefully the scenarios take that into account to an extent. Not having any healing could be tough, I guess we just need to be smart in combat (make Crowe kill it before it gets to hit us?).

![]() |

I'm not sure about the lodge thing, Dave can answer that one!
As far as classes and stuff, yeah usually you want to build something that's pretty self sufficient, and the scenarios sort of take it into account. But at the same time, we are in a situation where we can make sure all bases are covered, so it's up to you.
