Exactly. We are off to Pevensey in East Sussex.

Yeah... I did This... took 7hr 14 mins and 8 seconds.... but that's 49 mins quicker than last year, so I'm pretty happy.... Now onwards to the 55Km ultra next month.....
Impressive. I did a half-marathon trail run this weekend - first ever half, first ever trail run - and while I'm not setting any records, I was pleased with it. I had some trouble finding their official site, but this might work. Was a beautiful morning for it.

I'd make it about a hundred yards.
Yeah, 3 or 4 years ago so would I. Couch25k has a lot to answer for!
That half looks awesome! How long is that dam? Bet the view from there is stunning.

My personal cheering section met me on the dam around mile 3.5 and they both commented on the view. I was too focused on where I was placing my feet to look up much. And guess what, Couch25k is how I got started - small world!
I will get you an estimate of the length of the dam when I get home. Oddly, running on the very-flat high road of the dam was the worst part of the whole thing. Wading through the river, miles of uneven meadow, more miles of wooded singletrack, those were all interesting and, dare I say, fun. The part most like a road course was the worst. I did not expect that.
I don't know that I will be looking at a marathon any time soon. A half is plenty right now.

Yeah, I'm not running anything like as much as I should. It's a really busy time of year. If I was hitting 15-20 miles a week I'd be doing a lot better ;)
Roads are definitely hard on the feet, trails are much more fun, but harder on the muscles I think.

That Corniston course looks like a beautiful run. I hate running on roads, much prefer trails. I've got a friend who'd rather run roads for fear of turning ankles, but trails have got shade, a view, and I think they're much better for increasing lateral strength in the legs. Oh and less car exhaust.

I run almost exclusively on roads, but there is a nature trail near here that is an excellent, if somewhat flat, course and we have a fair-sized park that the local college cross-country team uses for practice. Those were my training grounds.
Last year, I was managing 12 - 18 miles a week. This year, I have had several weeks of no miles at all for one reason or another, but I was managing about 15 a week leading up to the half. Most of those were long runs on Sunday mornings with a smattering of shorter runs. Not enough to expect to do particularly well.
I think I agree on running trails vs roads, though. There was a man and wife that caught up to me on the dam, so I stepped aside to let them pass me on the gravel road we were running on. I was feeling like I needed to give my legs a break and walk for a bit, anyway, but when I stepped aside into the grass, my legs felt better - I ended up running alongside them and visiting for a quarter mile, then picking up my pace and leaving them behind. That was near the midway point - I think I finished about ten minutes ahead of them.
I have to say, it never occurred to me that I would be having a discussion about running on these boards. Kind of cool, really.

One week in the Dordogne valley and one week in the Arcachon basin.

Sorry, been very distracted by sorting out PaizoCon UK which is this weekend.
I can imagine!
It's bad enough prepping to run a couple of games! Fancy meeting for breakfast on Sunday? Im in a hotel about 10 minute drive from the conference centre......

Sounds good :)
Oh yeah, I need to do some prep for those games I'm running this weekend too.

We are very, very nearly there!
Which means I need some information from you.....
Once we are done, I'll need the info to 1) report the scenario, and 2) send you the chronicle... I know at least some of you have never done PFS before...
There are two parts to the process, both accessed from your "My Account" section of the Paizo site.
In there, under "Message Board Aliases" there is a "Pathfinder Society Section". You should be able to register for society play there and get a number.
Then once registered, you should be able to create the character (I'm not sure how that will mesh with having avatars with the same name.... Be warned!)
Once the character is registered, I need the "number" which is made up of your number, postfixed with "-x" where X is probably 1 for you.....
...Then there's Dave who's been running the biggest Pathfinder con outside the US for the last 10 years.....
So, if everyone could PM me their email address, and their character's PFS number... That would be great.

And what email address do you need? I have several. The one tied to my Paizo account is not the one I use for gaming. I would prefer to use my gaming address.
I have my Pathfinder Society number - is that what you expect with the "01" appended?

It doesn't really matter, it's the number that ties everything together, so I'd probably just change a letter in the name, give her a middle initial or something.
Any email will do, it's to give you a copy of the chronicle sheet.
Yes, if this is your first pfs character, it will be your society number with "-1"...(so wintergreen is on character number 16....)

The published DC to get him to lay off without payment was 25..... I may have taken a few liberties ;)
With that, your quest is at a successful conclusion! I need to sort out the sheets to send to you all, and also to report the scenario. I'll try to do that tonight but I may have to print them, which will mean it will be towards the end of the month.
Thank you for paying! It's been very good fun! I may be up for running another when I'm back in a few weeks....

Thanks to all of you for my first experience of playing through this medium.
