The first thing you can remember is suffocation. Followed by fear. Followed by pain. You cannot recall what the rubbery membranous substance was that covered your entire body. Nor could you determine the language of the person who punched you hard in the gut when you struggled against it. That is if it was a person at all.
These concerns quickly became secondary as you felt clawed hands lift you bodily from where you lay and a brief feeling of flying before you hit the water. Whatever substance had been used to hold you before quickly dissolved in the briny turbulence you could only guess was the sea. The concept of drowning and swimming came quickly to you as you kicked upward for air and with one free gasp you only captured a brief glimpse of the others around you before a wave kicks all of you up and over into the unknown. There are screams of terror, and then darkness.
A Pound of Flesh is a pbp game set in Exodus a 3pp campaign setting that includes nearly every genre you can imagine and more. Players take on the role of a group of amnesiacs who wash up on the shore of the Arman Protectorate (steampunk russia if you will). This is a very open ended game about self discovery and exploring a strange yet familiar world.

20pt buy
1st level
No wealth. You wake up naked on a cold beach.
Neoexodus races plus Human only. Other pathfinder races are exceedingly rare.
Psionic characters will be allowed but I won't take more than one.
Classes that come with equipment or pets can stat these things out if they choose they'll gain these before any real adventuring begins.
If there is a 3pp thing you wish to use that is not in one of the allowed books it is subject to GM approval.
A personality to go with a physical description. You don't remember a back history so putting one up will be ignored.
Recruitment will be up for a week or until I feel I have what I need.
Thank you in advance for applying.
Saxton Quinn
O yes yes at last, GM would you be ok with a Psionic planes Shifter Saxton Quinn
stuck on this plane and trying to get by, I'm Thinking of some one like Jerry Cornelius Jerry Cornelius, secret agent, superhero, adventurer, all things to all men and woman, a shifting paradox of a man, from the Michael Moorcock books. Hes been so many places hes not 100 sour where he is any more, like some of the Amber Characters from the Books of Amber. Hes he's the aesthetic rambler, Tumbling through the cosmos at fates whim. Always well dressed and looking for who is running the show, hes a bit passive and cool most of the time. Race wise im thinking elf sub type, do they do a city elf hehe

I'm interested in playing this campaign, however I am not familiar with the setting, and first time pbp player. Hope this won't rule me out of being accepted into the campaign much.
I would be looking into making a Controller Bard, and possible a fair bit into skills. Still needs to look into the NeoExodus race, in any case assuming I would be playing a Female Human Bard for now.
Kenji Jehu
Sounds Awesome. Kenji Submitted.
Please ignore background- It's generic for applying.
I have yet to play him yet, but he is a 'save or daze' blaster sorcerer. (Although not till level 6 when he'd get 3rd level spells)
He's a Tian arcane blooded Sorcerer (human for extra spells) who will from 1st level focus on blasts (that DON'T hit allies) and battle control spells.
Personality wise, he's alot like the Yakuza dude out of the latest Predator movie. Doesn't say much but has a dry wit when he does speak.
Physical Description Kenji stands 5,8 and is small framed and VERY lean, to the point where you can see the individual muscle striations when he moves.
Typically he goes about wearing a Haramaki+Armored kilt getup with no shirt.
His torso sports the full body tattoos typical of japanese Yakuza.
Given the choice he arms himself with a Half-spear and Cestus and carries a crossbow for when his spells run out.
Question: Are we allowed traits? Kenji has Wayang Spellhunter (Burning Arc) and Magical Lineage (fireball). They are pretty important to his later levels but not really doing anything before level 4. If you don't allow traits to start for this game I could get them at 3rd level via a feat.

So yeah I'm going to be playing a Female Human Bard. Really excited to play this, hope I get picked to play in your campaign. Also if I do could I at least wake up in the beach, with some concealment for my character, or would the other player just be in for a treat, with a beautiful female running around naked, looking for anyone to spare me some clothes =p

His race may change still working on out line, Love the idea of a kind of
fantasy Private detective, overcoat and hat with a world weary attitude.
Amateur Gunslinger feat is very tempting GM. What do you think. Im working him up now in the Name Profile. (so much fun, sorry really enjoying this)

Female P'Tah Rogue
5' 11" and 140 pounds of short, dark grey fur has more than a few streaks of white indicating previous injury. Her amber eyes seem to constantly dart around, not staying in one spot for very long. Quiet and very soft spoken, she's more apt to startle if touched.. which given her long fingernails can be a bit.. hazardous to the unwary.
<No name, she hasn't been around others enough.. perhaps the party can decide as the game progresses? Statblock to follow once the char is fleshed out.>
TarkXT
Ethnicities in Neoexodus are not the same as those in Golarion so I'd say just make a physical description and we'll fit you as best as possible. If you don't fit any ethnicity within the setting than don't worry about it.
No traits as they assume certain things about your backstory which do not exist. However I like the idea of the trait as a story award so you likely won't be missing out on much.
About Enuka: Enuka are sort of like the orcs of the setting. Barbaric, fatalistic, and savage. They're intelligent enough to enjoy the fruits of civilization while primitive enough not to ever get far trying to be civilized.
Saxton Quinn: That's nice and all but you literally can't remember any of that. You remember your name and you have skills and knowledge but how you came about that and where it's from you have no idea.
Oh and no carefully placed vegetation to protect the females. Everyone wakes up with equal amounts of terrible shame.

Character Description:
In the beach lies a curvaceous naked lady about five to six feet tall face down unconscious along with a couple others under the same condition. Her hair was long and brown and it’s not until she regains her conscious that you could see her charming brown eyes peer through the sand that covered almost half her face. She has no clue where she is or how she got here, the only thing that is certain in her mind is that she is called Aphrodite.
In short:
- Average weight (138 lbs) and height (5’8)
- Long brown hair
- Beautiful brown eyes
P.S. Sorry kinda implemented the scenario to help me describe her, hope you don't mind.

GM thats works for me, just the kind of thing that fate would do to him, bit like Corwin in the books of Amber, nice. Ill work him up fully for our consideration.
*fade from black to a close up of a mans face, laying on wet sand, the sound of sea birds and serf can be heard in the back ground, he has dark hair, tanned skin and deep blue eyes, Hes looking at the wet sand by the side of his face.
Man on sand
This is wet he says softy
He moves up his and hand and pushing his fingers into the wet golden grains by his face.
and this is sand
He closes his eyes and holds them closed for a moment. He opens his pale blue eyes and looks at camera.
but what am I
His mind reaches out he moves his head to look at what he finds
*camera pulls back to show his naked body laying in the sand, then back more to a pov showing a group of naked forms on a beach*

Sounds good. Cairn is complete and ready to be washed ashore naked and confused..."isnt this is how porn movies start?...yah, but this is also how horror movies start!.."
Aliwah
Here is Aliwah. Female Gevet Bard. Just Aliwah. I guess no memory means no family name or mother name to cling to. She's going to be one confused Gevet upon waking up.
Also, TarkXT, I was wondering what you wanted to do with skills and other things that rely heavily on memory. The knowledge skills, for instance. I made sure to pick skills for Aliwah based on things she'd have an instinct for, rather than things she may have learned. As for spells, would she have forgotten them all, or how does that work?
I like the premise for this game, and the setting looks really interesting. Best of luck getting an excellent group of characters to match it. Here's hoping Aliwah fits the bill.
TarkXT
This is the first draft of Merck's submission.
Tark, is there fire weapons in this setting? Since its kind of steampunk are they the more common long range weapons? Are you allowing gusnlingers?
Firearms are common only in the arman protectorate. And even then very few as the military jealously guards them. Still this doesn't stop veterans from going home with battered or nearly destroyed versions of there favorite weapons. And the government doesn't see any point in tryin to round up all the errant weapons in their own country. It's when non-Arman are seen wielding firearms that they are mercilessly hunted.
@Aliwah: Yes that would be very confusing and scary at the same time. On a related note I forgot to mention that Cavian need to start as independent.
@Cairn: I'm a touch wary about lore warden as it's in none of the books I listed. However I can see how a Prymidian might work for it. I'll leave it be for now though it might not hurt to consider an alternate type of class if I change my mind.
@KFC: That looks fine if I could get a statblock to go with that.
The Ptan looks good.
Interesting group of candidates thus far keep them coming!

Looks like I might be late to the party, first time pBp player here though experienced 3.5 DM wanting to branch his horizons (and actually be a player again.)
Though if there is room in this game as it looks fairly interesting, I'm thinking of Lionel Dauphin a young male summoner with a small inscription on his head to denote the connection he had to his eidolon. All he can think about is if he drank too much last night, though if he did why can't he remember what a party even felt like?

I have omitted the 2 additional beginning languages considering I'm in a state of amnesia, I'm not sure if I should choose any. However if I'm allowed, she would also know Exodite and Sasori, but she couldn't remember how she are fluent in them.
Lionel Dauphin
Here is Lionel Dauphin. Hopefully he suits the campaign and atmosphere.
For how he would look at the situation:
*waking up on the shore*
"What in the hell did I drink last night. Who would throw me out at sea really? *looks down* Oh great they had to do that too? Wait a minute, who is 'they'? Must've drank way more than I thought."
*pauses*
"Though I don't remember drinking at all..."
*sighs*
"Well this is frustrating."
Also I might change the eidolon a little depending on the party, at the moment though she will be a mobile supporter.

That's perfectly fine.
That's how the knowledge and other such skills work. You know, but how you came to that knowledge, where you found it, or even why you know it is beyond you. A lot of things come to you instinctually, your sword skills, the ability to cast spells, you know what you need, how to do it, and even what it does but you have no idea how you learned it or why.

could I ask GM will all the players start with
Amnesia
Type insanity; Save Will DC 20
Onset immediate
Effect –4 penalty on Will saving throws and all skill checks; loss of memory (see below)
DESCRIPTION
A character suffering from amnesia cannot remember things; his name, his skills, and his past are all equal mysteries. He can build new memories, but any memories that existed before he became an amnesiac are suppressed.
Worse, the amnesiac loses all class abilities, feats, and skill ranks for as long as his amnesia lasts. He retains his base attack bonus, base saving throw bonuses, combat maneuver bonus, combat maneuver defense, total experience points, and hit dice (and hit points), but everything else is gone until the amnesia is cured. If a character gains a class level while suffering from amnesia, he may use any abilities gained by that class level normally. If the class level he gained was of a class he already possess levels in, he gains the abilities of a 1st-level character of that class, even though he is technically of a higher level in that class. If his amnesia is later cured, he regains all the full abilities of this class, including those gained from any levels taken while he was suffering from amnesia.
as in
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/mastery/sanityAndMadness.html
whats scary is this bit
Curing Insanity
All insanities have a DC that represents the insanity's strength. An insanity's DC indicates the Will save you need to roll in order to resist contracting the insanity when you are initially exposed to it, but also the DC you need to make to recover. Recovering from an insanity naturally is a lengthy process—once per week, you make a Will save against the insanity's current DC. If you succeed on this save, the insanity's DC is reduced by a number of points equal to your Charisma bonus (minimum of 1). You continue to suffer the full effects of the insanity until its DC is reduced to 0, at which point you are cured and the insanity vanishes completely.
Lesser restoration has no effect on insanity, but restoration reduces the current DC of one insanity currently affecting a target by an amount equal to the caster's level. Greater restoration, heal, limited wish, miracle, or wish immediately cures a target of all insanity.
yikes!!
