While walking to the site the Sheriff asks you all how you came to be at Sandpoint. So, you all just arrived yesterday for the festival? I know Chammady, but the rest of you? Did you like the festivities?

As you walk outside you see the destruction the goblins had wrought. Mothers crying for their dead children and merchants and ranchers whose livelihood taken from them in one night raid. The joy of the festival already a distant memory.

"Come for the festival, stay for the fighting," Avizzi murmurs, shaking his head at the saddened faces of the townsfolk. "I thought I'd come to see the celebration, spread the word of Cayden, maybe try the Hagfish's contest. I'd hoped for adventure--looks like the town got its share of that."

Idril commented enthusiatically to the Sheriff.
"The festival was fantastic! Even off the stage you could move around; and do and see different things!
"In Korvosa and Magnimar, the venues are much more restricted. You have to pay to get in to see the acts. And the ones on the street are just lures for petty thievery. I had no idea places out in the wilderlands could host such a show, one that I could star in!"

Her mood darkens as she sees the mothers mourning their dead children.
"Except for that.
"You know, I think I could get to like killing goblins..."
She muttered, almost under her breath.

Hmh I see. Well here we are. The Sheriff announces as you walk up to the tomb. Its outer stonework destroyed and the small set of stairs that lead down to the priest's resting place are exposed. It is only a small room inside. I will wait out here while you investigate. The Sheriff says attempting to hide his fear and disgust of going inside a desecrated gravesite.

"Huh, looks like somebody wasn't too fond of this guy." Shrugging his broad shoulders, the Ulfen begins to move down the stairs, realizing halfway down, Huh, I could use some light. "Er... anybody got a torch?"

The Sheriff wants to wait outside while we go in? Idril thought, vaguely suspicious, before being distracted by Avizzi's question.
"Of course Master Avizzi." Idril pulled one of the torches she used for her juggling act out of her bag, stared at it in concentration and it burst into flame.
"With my compliments." She said as she handed it over.

Not terribly fond of the place either Chammady looks to the Sheriff: "That's some vandalism Sheriff, do you know who did it?" she asks, while wondering if perhaps this isn't going to be easy money after all.

Hearing the monk's question, she bends down and picks up a stone from the ground. You can do this focus, she tells herself and begins searching deep inside. Suddenly the warmth is there, stroking and guiding the flame she looks up and the stone is ablaze. "Will this do?" she asks with a coy smile as she hands the stone to the monk. "Oh I see you're already taken care of," she says as she notices the torch and keeps the stone to herself.

Looking around the rest of the party she says: "My memory is a little rusty from last night what was your names again? I'm Chammady by the way."

Casts light on stone.

Avizzi laughs as the two ladies hand him the objects. "Nothing like a nice gal to keep a situation light--get it? Er--yeah, you can hold onto that." Leading the way down the stairs, the Ulfen glances back at Chammady's question. "Uh, my name's a little long... er..." The man frowns, as if struggling to recall the information, then bursts out in a flood of syllables, "Avizzikazimon Tolo'kazzagekki, at your service!" He laughs again. "But just call me Avizzi. Some call me Strange, too, but it seems I'm not alone there--you two ladies magicians, eh?"

Looking somewhat unhappy with Avizzi's humour Chammady smiles at his answer. "I'll never learn that." she laughs and continues: "Avizzi, it is then." Tilting her head at the question, she thinks for a moment before answering: "I can't say for her, but I never had any training, it just comes natural. The warmth is always within."

As Avizzi approaches down the stairs with his light source he sees two skeletons pop to life and immediately attempt to attack him, but Avizzi is ready and has the first action.

The rest of you Roll Initiative, this is a close quarter area, 2handed weapons will be at a -2 to hit. Anyone that gets into melee next to Avizzi will be squeezed.

Avizzi laughs once again as the skeletons pop to life. "More company! These fellas don't know when to quit." His fist lashes out quickly at the creatures, flying toward each skull.

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

If only a surprise round, Avizzi instead sends a single punch at the closest skeleton, otherwise sticking with the above commentary.

Surprised and scared by what she sees Chammady takes a few steps backwards and presses herself against the wall allowing others to pass. "Вхат, вхат ис тхат" she asks, fear apparent in her voice. Deep inside she knows, it is the undead stalkers of the living. Realizing that Avizzi has dropped the torch, she raises the burning stone above her head trying to illuminate the scene for all.

Once again I forgot the curse.

Postponing his entrance into the tomb as much as he could Isorian lingers along the sheriff letting the braver adventures go in first. After a few minutes of awkward looks and words exchanged with the sheriff the sorcerer decides to win his silver coin and follows the group casting a light spell when it got too dark.
Did someone mention a magician?! Have you guys cleared
all the dangers around here?
He shouts before seeing the skeletons in front. Guess no... so much for the noncursed tomb.

Still behind Avizzi and fumbling with another torch, Idril reacts with a little bit of fear of the undead rising, and with more excitement at the thought of the fight. She initially thinks of running by them to flank attack, but a vision of her and Avizzin wedging themselves in the corridor while the skeletons devouer them halts that train of thought.
Instead, she tosses the torch in the air, whips her bladed scarf out past Avizzi's ear to attack the skeleton, then catches the torch after she recovers her scarf.
Sleight of Hand(Juggling): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Bladed Scarf attack vs. Skeleton: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 2 = 2 for a possible 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 cutting damage.
Blanching at the fumble Idril calls out; "I'm sorry Avizzi!" Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"...That skeleton cut your ear off!"

Man, the ones are cheap tonight. Do you think I'll have to cauterize the wound?

"What?!" Avizzi asks as he feels something sharp brush along his ear, and he raises a hand to that spot as he scissors the legs from the skeleton passing him and lashes out with a fist at the other. "It's still hear! Get it? 'HEAR!' HAHAHAHAHA...." The man's laughter booms through the stairwell. Realizing his predicament, the man also raises his hands into his defensive fighting style.

Trip against squeezing skeleton: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Attack against other skeleton: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Also, swifting into Snapping Turtle Style, as I forgot to do that last round.

Gritting her teeth with embarassment, Idril does the juggle the torch trick again as she attacks the encroaching skeleton.

As the others speak Chammady turns her head first towards Isorion, then Idril and lastly to Avizzi. She looks shocked as she realizes that she doesn't understand a word they're saying. "Wхат аре ыоу саыинг?" she asks, panic manifest in her voice. Суньс бурнинг раыс, спеак цоммон! she says, now angry. Seeing the skeleton trying to close in she moves further back.

Idril makes quick work of the last Skeleton as it attempts to recover from its fallen position. An initial look over of the tomb revels that the body of the late priest has been stolen. There is an odd robe in corner of the tomb that has marks that suggests it once held patches.

The Robe does appear to be faintly magical. It appears to be a Robe of Bones, it has no more patches though and it seems the undead you fought were the last of the patches from it. When the Sheriff hears about the missing body he pleads the party to keep quiet about it The townsfolk are shook up as it is, lets keep this little incident between us for now if you don't mind.

Grinning as he runs a finger along the bloody scratch on his leg from when the skeleton fell, Avizzi looks at Chammady. "Adventure is what's happening here!"

Back above-ground, the Ulfen nods to the Sheriff. "Sure thing. Know where I can get this checked out, though?" The man gestures to his leg, which he is favoring slightly.

Let's see... the same day the goblins attacked the tomb of our good late priest has been desecrated. Distraction or opportunity? Either way whoever did it knew about the robe and activated it's Curse for the followers, taking the remains quickly . Did I miss something? The half elf was smiling almost laughing at this odd situation for months this town was silent and all of a sudden everything had livened up. Oh yes, the silver, maybe something extra for risking our lives down there.

I will make it 2 silver if you promise to keep quiet about it. Sheriff Hemlock gives the promised coin to each party member and adds I must report to the mayor about this situation. Thank you for your assistance.

As you walk back through the town Isorion notices many woman are looking at him and blushing. A little girl runs up to him and says My sister wants to know if you have a girlfriend. She stands there expecting to be given an answer while another young lady pretending to do some minor chores attempts to hide herself from the embarrassment.

"Hm. And why the priest of all people?" Wonders Idril aloud as she absent-mindedly hands the robe to the Sheriff.
"Somebody who wants what a priest can do out of the way? Or is it something personal?"
She rounds on the Sheriff.
"Who was this man anyway? Did he have any enemies?"

The Sheriff looks at Idril I think that is something father Zantus should answer. There was a bit of unpleasantness involved and I would not speak ill of a dead priest's family.

It's not that I don't trust ya las, I honestly do not know all there is to know about it myself. This was the body of father Tobyn. His daughter, an Aasimar, died with him in a fire. All evidence suggested that it was an intentional fire set by his daughter. That's all I know about it. I must go now, I will tell father Zantus about your help.

"You speak common again!" Chammady exclaims as Avizzi explains the encounter. At the Sheriff's request she nods and adds: "Sure Sheriff, my lips are sealed." She listens carefully to Isorion statement and the conversation between the Sheriff and Idril. Why would anyone do this to someone and why a priest? she contemplates. She absent minded looks up at Avizzi's request, only now noticing his wound. "This might help," she says and kneels down and lightly touches the wound. Her internal flame gushes forth and a warmth encircles the leg and the wound closes.

"Well do you?" Chammady taunts Isorion at the girl's question. Finally he got the attention. he wished for, she thinks.

Receiving the silver Isorian rapidly throws them in his punch thanking the sheriff for the extra payment. You will not have to worry about me igniting rumors. If you need to contact us in the future you know where you can find us.

He smiles at the young girl You can tell your sister that I won't bite. I'm as harmless as a puppy, isn't that right Miss Chammady?... Isorion the Great Belilmandel is always available.

The little girl rolls her eyes and says Ok mister i'll tell her and she scurries off. More and more as you walk in town you hear people talking about the heroes of sandpoint, some think that Desna has sent you to fight off the goblins.

"Oh well." She flips her scarves back around her shoulders.
"Looks like we have to go to see Father Zantus."
She stops, considering.
"Ah, does anyone know where he might be?"

"His the most toothless puppy you'll ever find," she smiles at Isorion's comeback. He might be boasting but he has a bit of humour, she thinks.

Chammady can't keep a little laughter back at Idril's suggestion. "I am not sure, but we could try the church. If not there someone in the inn might know," she replies.

Isorian watches the girl go adding a grin on his face which was reconstructed after each tale heard about their battle with the goblins. We could try the temple as Chammady says, but... He stops looking back at the direction of the cemetery.

...but, promise me we won't desecrate it if we don't find Father Zantus there. I don't want to be switch from charming hero of Sandpoint to the town's profane sorcerer in the same day.


You find Father Zantus at the temple that is under construction.
Ah, the heroes of Sandpoint. I hope Sheriff Hemlock found you I informed him of something and he was going to seek out your assistance with it.

Their is a small shrine that is being used as a temple while the main temple of Desna is constructed. Apparently the previous temple was burned down.

Idril curtsies to the Father and genuflects towards the Shrine of Desna. She glances around to make sure they weren't overheard.
"Father Zantus I believe? Has the Sheriff informed you of the... vandalism down at the cemetary?"


I was the one that informed him. So you did you and inspect it. Is that why you are here my child? Father Zantus responds to Idril.

It would seem we beat the good sheriff to it. Chammady thinks as Idril and the cleric speaks. Unsure what to do she listens to their conversation a little before adding her opinion: "Idril I don't think the sheriff has been here yet, shouldn't we let him explain the full extend of the damages to Father Zantus?" She looks around at the others urging them to give their thoughts. I don't want any trouble, let the sheriff handle this.

Isorian looks around the temple suspiciously but staying in close range to the the others and letting Idril start the awkward conversation and quickly intervened not wanting to get sheriff involved in this. Nonsense, miss Chammady, I'm sure Father Zantus here can handle the harsh truth without the sheriff's extra perfume on the facts. He takes a couple of steps forward and bows his head. Father, the evidence at the site showed that the old priest had necromantic interests and he may have risen from the dead along with some of his minions. In the interest of Sandpoint's safety we would be interested in gather more details about this so called priest.
