It is dusk and goblins are once again raiding the town, only this time the Sheriff is on his way to Magnimar. You see Shalelu the elven ranger that came into town with Sergei doing her best to fend them off, firing her bow from on top of the Rusty Dragon, but the goblins are closing in on her. Ameiko the Innkeeper of the Rusty Dragon is fighting melee in front of the inn, and Ven the merchant is taking his axe to some that are raiding his shop. Madame Mvashti is using fire and illusion magic to ward off a large group in the main part of town. The Mayor is fighting at the town hall, keeping the goblins at bay at the doorway.

"My audience! MY MEAL TICKET!"
Idril charges towards the nearest goblin and whips out her bladed scarf.
Bladed scarf attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 for a possible 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 cutting damage.

Not again, leave my town alone, Chammady thinks as she takes the destruction in. "Nice work on the wall Father, would you care to continue with the goblins?" she says with a hint of seriousness in her voice. Turning to Aldren she continues: "This is your chance shine Aldren." Stringing her bow, she tries to find the place for her arrows and hopefully spot her parents.

Hiding the boar head and the one belonging to the goblin hastily in some bushes nearby Isorion gets in range of his crossbow and tries to pick some of the goblins from afar. While loading his crossbow he thinks of the havoc that the goblins caused and the devaluation of their value. Still too far to take that Shoanti on the inn... guess I'll go with a goblin.

He aims his weapon at one of them and takes short breaths. How about an archery contest Chammady? Let's see who takes more goblins: a human, an elf or something in between.

Sergei grins at Isorion.

"If you think that is the case, then I take it you have never been to Janderhoff; I am considered quite normal amongst my own people."

He then nods the Chammady with a twinkle in his eye.

"Young lady, I believe I would love to!"

Sergei then rushes towards the closest Goblin, and takes a swing with his pick!

Cold Iron Heavy Pick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17, for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Cold Iron Piercing damage.

Aldren seeing his town in danger again, grabs his spear and heads out with Chammady's encouragement.

Just to keep things organized give me initiatives, but you can keep your attacks. You will get a surprise round as the large group of goblins did not know you were coming.

Chammady looks at Isorion somewhat confused by the sound he is making, she shakes her head and turn to the task at hand. Why does this always happen, when push comes to show everyone starts speaking gibberish? she wonders as she takes aim. It must have distracted her somehow as her arrow flies wide and the goblins remain safe.

At first Isorion thought that Chammady hadn't understood him judging from her confused expression but he put that thought aside when he saw her arrow flying high above his head. He replied with a bolt at a different goblin group for tracking the fallen goblins easier. Isorion's eyes follow the well aimed bolt than checks how the elf was handling her tight situation.

8 Goblins are continuing their assault on the Inn and main section of town, The Mayor has closed the door to the Hall and kept them from entering. One goblin strikes out at Sergei, who closed into melee.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Bludgeoning damage from a club if hits.

Idril charges towards the nearest goblin and whips out her bladed scarf.

Satisfied with the success of his first attack Isorion makes his way towards the town hall, striking at yet another goblin that got in his weapon's range.

Seeing Isorion's bolt find its mark Chammady focuses on aiming and lets another arrow fly. Yet somehow this one also misses. What is happening with my aim, she wonders. It used to be better.

Irritated with her miss, Idril whirls around as she recovers her bladed scarf and whips it out again.

Grinning widely (and finally remembering the bonus from his racial hatred...), Sergei turns his attention to the *next* Goblin in line, hoping to pith another green head, like an olive.

Deciding to go all out, Idril whirls and dances with the deceptive grace of her Battle Dance as she recovers her bladed scarf and whips it out again.
Bladed scarf attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18 for a possible 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6 cutting damage.

Battle Dance: Inspire Courage +1 (Su) Morale bonus on some saving throws, attack and damage rolls.

Just to be clear, Idril's benefit is for her only due to her archetype.

The party is cutting through the goblins and making progress.

The Goblins see the head of their fallen Boar God(Tickwood Horror) and seeing their escape route blocked and vandalized they begin to scatter.

Pulling the arrow out Isorion hastily reloads his crossbow to return the favor. He aims for the goblin that have given him the wound and shoots even though the goblin was running away. Stay still you coward. I'm not finished with you yet.

Frustrated from her last to misses Chammady doesn't concentrate enough and her third arrow flies by a goblin in stead of hitting.

Leaving off her battle dance, Idril continues to attack.

Round 3:

Clearly enjoying himself, Sergei continues to charge around, attempting to cut-down Goblins!

Sorry I haven't responded much, I was giving everyone a chance to post.

Finishing off any stragglers in town the raid is finally over, but at a large cost. Many homes are burned down and there are many wounded. Father Zantus is healing who he can at the small church and the Mayor is trying to give out orders in a clearly wounded state.

Aldren, who had slain a few goblins himself, is now frantic. "I can not find my wife!" He exclaims as he searches the remains of his estate.

Taking in the destruction caused by the goblins, Chammady collects herself. "I need to go find my parents, can't you lend a hand here?" she asks the rest before she runs to her family home.

Hearing Little Chammady call out for aid, Idril leaves off her pursuit to go aid her.

Chammady is able to find her parents, and all though Aldren lost his wife, who is presumed dead but missing, the town suffered only a few casualties. The town is blazing and most live stock is dead.

We must run down the survivors and post their heads on pikes around the town, whose with me? Shalelu says as she jumps off the top of the Inn.

Sergei lets out a great chuckle.

"That sounds like an excellent idea, my friend!"

"I'm in!" Calls out Idril.

Isorion raises an eyebrow being more solemn than his usual jumpy self. "As much as it saddens me to see this terrible disaster thrown on the town and I know many of you are eager for revenge we still NEED to remain vigilant. We cannot ALL go hunting for survivors. The town needs to be rebuild, especially the taverns, survivors must be found, especially the young and beautiful and most of all ... agh... a victory ceremony should be planned for when me and my friends will be returning triumphantly from our hunt.

He takes a few steps closer to Sergei and whispers "That should calm some of the amateur goblin bounty hunters. "

Relieved that her parents were unharmed Chammady begins her walk back to where she left the others. She is shocked by the destruction the goblins wrought. My town, why did this happen, why did they attack us?

She arrives in time to hear Idril call out and Isorion speak. Confused by their statements, she discretely walks to Idril and asks: "What is happening?"

The town is blazing and most live stock is dead.

"What is happening?"

Idril motions towards Shalelu as she makes her speech.

"We must run down the survivors and post their heads on pikes around the town, whose with me?" Shalelu says as she jumps off the top of the Inn.

"Sounds like Shalelu is rounding up a posse to clean out the goblin threat once and for all." Replies Idril as she flicks blood off her bladed scarf.

Shalelu and those of the party that help her are able to slaughter a dozen goblin stragglers by Sunrise. You are exhausted at the end of the day. The town has suffered more structural damage, and the livestock are all slain. Aldren's wife and Ameiko are missing. Some others that were previously missing are now found dead in the light of the sun. Many are packing up personal effects to move out of town.

Welcome to Level 2

"I guess I better be," she smiles. A flash of something sinister hides behind her smile before it vanishes. She then readies herself to follow the others once more.

Bethana Corwin approaches you, she is a maid that has worked at the Rusty Dragon. Please Little Chammady, Ameiko is missing. I went in to clean her room this morning and found only this crumpled piece of paper

She holds out the note. I can't read it though

Idril takes a look at the note, but fatigue makes her eyes blur and she passes it on.
"Sorry, I have no idea." She said, rubbing her eyes and longing for bed. It's been a long day. And night.

"Have you checked under the bed?" Isorion mumbles rubbing his eyes and yawning from time to time and not even bothering with the piece of paper. "I don't think the goblins would have bothered with a ransom note. Then again one week ago I wouldn't have envisioned a goblin invasion.He yawns again, his head propped on his arms. [b]" Anyway I can't blame her for fleeing after the recent events. A lot of customers are leaving, the inn is in this state, and a goblin attack might come anytime and set everything on fire. "

Trying to shake the fatigue Chammady focuses on Bethana she asks: "What did you say?" Realizing the words she grasp the paper from Idril, looking over it, she can't make any sense of it. "Me neither," she adds. Anger flares up in Chammady's eyes and in a sharp tone she corrects Isorion: "Ameiko wouldn't do that." Turning to the others she asks: "Who can translate this?

Sergei stares at the page blankly.

"I am afraid that I do not recognise the script; it looks like gibberish to me... although..."

Would Comprehend Languages work? I could spend a point of Mythic Power to get the spell.

I assume everyone has increased their level then and are ready for an audit?

Sergei concentrates for a moment, and words of power flood his mind.

He then quickly casts a spell.

Comprehend Languages.

He then clears his throat loudly, and begins reading.

"Hello, Sis! I hope this letter finds you well, and with some free time on your hands, because we've got something of a problem. It's do with father. Seems that we might have had something to do with Sandpoints's recent troubles with the goblins, and I didn't want to bring the matter to the authorities because we both know he'd just weasel his way out of it. You've got some pull here in town, though. If you can meet me at the Glassworks at midtnight tonight, maybe we can figure out how to make sure he faces the punishment he deserves. Knock twice and then three times more and then once more at the delivery entrance and I'll let you in. In any case, I don't have to impress upon you the delicate nature of this request. If news got out, you know these local rubes would assume that you and I were in on the whole thing too, don't you? the've got no honor at all around these parts. I still don't understand how you can stand to stay here. Anyway, don't tell anyone about this. there are other complications as well, ones I'd rather talk to you in person about tonight. Don't be late. Tsuto."

Idril doesn't move from her chair, her head tilted back resting against the wall.
"Ugh. Sounds like a family squabble. Can we go to bed now?"

Isorion giggles from time to time while hearing the translation, amused by how it sounds being read out loud by his dwarven friend. But his mood changes quickly when upon hearing the ending and frowns .
"Local rubes? No honor? After all the hard work I've put, even risking my life! This does it. I'm going to find this spoiled brat and throw her at the goblins. That would come right after a good sleep. "

At Sergei's and Idril's words Chammady lean her head a little to the left contemplating both the reading and the opinion. "I am not sure of the meaning of this and I don't like your words Isorion," she states and continues: "But I think you might be right in we ought to find Ameiko." Turning herself to include everyone she asks: "Do you think this can wait until tomorrow? Shouldn't we do something if they're meeting tonight?"

Sergei sighs.

"If the lass is currently missing, surely that means the meeting was *last* night...? If something is wrong, we should probably look for her *today*."

"Sergei, we've all been up two days straight. I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted and about ready to fall down and sleep where I drop. If she needed help from me, I wouldn't be able to move or fight."

You believe that this must be a recent note, Ameiko was seen defending the Inn when you got back into town. If you sleep now in the morning you will be up to investigate tonight.
