Not quite a Dr yet, soon soon. Still got the final exam, though that's just defending my work so it shouldn't be too bad. Though it can go on for 5hours if you're unlucky.

I think we are the little camp/black tent at the south of the mountains, right in-between three red X. Also a bit north-west of the desert city (assuming North is up on the map!).
But this map also begs the question - how large is this world?
Is it a sphere like Golarion or Earth, or some sort of self-looping plane perhaps?
'North' is the top of the map for sake of orientation. I'll edit the file in a bit to add a small compass icon.
Green circle is where you are.
There are more stuff in between all this but I'll add them as you find them, like other towns, outposts, creature lairs, super secret bunkerTM etc.
I've added the map to campaign info and will probably update story so far to this point too soon.
ah yes that green circle around the black tent is difficult to see in the forest area. maybe a black circle or white or a white circle with black outline or something would be easier to see. Or maybe it's just my eyes.
The color blind, such as myself, will have a hard time seeing it. I can but I need to look closely or zoom way in. Most of the color blind males are red-green color blind.
I had honestly not considered that, is there anymore of the map that is confusing in colour?
the rest of it seems straightforward enough.
only improvement i could think of now would be a token for the party floating over wherever we are, or some kind of large arrow or indicator to see when it is all zoomed out.
The other colors and icons seem fit to describe the terrain and climate of the areas. spooky dead grey, green forest with or without hills, desert, etc.
FYI, i'm currently primarily posting from my cell phone, dealing with crappy Hawaii hotel wi-fi (it's like they expect me to go outside or something) for four days until i fly to a different hotel with unknown wi-fi potency for an unknown number of days.
So, while i will be posting, they will be slightly more infrequent and most typically brief.

There are two Eldred down the far end of the pool.
We are speaking Taldane, from Golarion, so barring magic the Eldred probably can't understand us.
And Nethan looks like a Deity ... ;-)

No it's me I derped. I was going to circle areas on the maps for you so you could see how far things were. I just .. forgot to put that up after posting. Editing now!
Edit: Put up two large black circles on the world map. Thick black lines so hopefully shouldn't blend in to anything on the map.

I have this image now that the colour pools are some sort of experimental, rare, plutonium like material.

So first order of things would either be revisiting Sarangeral or buying the birds. Would you like to roleplaying buying birds or just dock the amount you wish to spend? Then afterwards it'll be waiting a day for the contest. Anyone want to do anything in preparation for that?
