Oh Mighty Silvio, sea captain and hero to all: I believe your +6 to swim is correct. Your armor probably was worn unless you took it off for your shared time with the Lady. In addition, since you failed your swim check by 5, you're drowning, just like Kyson. However, you can make a second move action to swim again, which should get you straightened up. Zstelian might suggest taking 10 to swim as well...which would eliminate chance of failure. Kyson hopes that you make a swim check or two to come save him. Love, Kyson.

*erhm*. Great sea captain...

He's not wearing his armor (which accounts for his currently low AC). I figure that he wouldn't take it to a formal dinner. For the same reason he's not armed. Both armor and weapons lie next to his bunk. As for the swim check I normally take 10 on skill checks but i figure that since we're in combat this counts as a stressful situation and I can't take 10.

Although I did notice that I copy+pasted abit to much and screwed up the initiative. It should be 17, and nothing else (without a dueling sword in hand Silvio's init modifier is +3).

Silvio, sucking in a lungful of air, gets hit in the face with a wave, causing him to accidentally inhale a quantity of water. He goes under, struggling to right himself and regain his bearings.

Dargon, on deck, looks around, spotting a coiled rope that could be used to get people on deck again, though no ladder makes itself evident.

Khazmia moves out of the cloud, to Lavinia's side, but it seems to make little immediate impact. She continues to gag, her stomach on the verge of expelling her dinner. nauseated for 5 more rounds Lavinia and Liamae try to recover next to her, before moving toward the ladder belowdecks at Zstelian's command.

Sekathral, too sick to make a grab for the little beast, swims instead toward Kyson, arriving at the location the young priest went under, though the waves surprise him with their intensity. The water had seemed calmer on board.

The old Varisian ranger keeps an eye out, but the thing doesn't surface. He thinks for a moment it might be gone, but then suddenly sees a splash of red blood in the water near Kyson.

I guess you should probably say if you're swimming as a full round action rather than as a move action:

Swim:

Make a Swim check once per round while you are in the water. Success means you may swim at up to half your speed (as a full-round action) or at a quarter of your speed (as a move action). If you fail by 4 or less, you make no progress. If you fail by 5 or more, you go underwater.

Zstelian grunts in pain as the creature's claws tear at his flesh but he grins in satisfaction.

"Finally got your attention?"

You think regular weapons won't do much to it, though magic weapons should do the trick. DR 5/magic

Silvio makes it to the Sea Wyvern, where a rope waits for him to be able to scale his way up to the deck.

On the Blue Nixie, as Dargon awaits a target, Khazmia finally manages to get enough fresh air to clear away the effects of the noxious cloud.

Kyson thinks he spots it and sends a ball of fire toward the creature, but quickly dives back below the waves, the attack doing nothing more than sending a ball of steam into the darkening sky. Sekathral's dagger is similarly ineffective, sinking quickly below the waves. You're about 30 feet away from it on the ship's decks, but it's underwater, giving it cover from those not in the water with it.

Dargon, not seeing a decent shot while the creature stays underwater so close to Zstelian, holds on to his ax, not wanting to throw it away on such a literal longshot.

The ranger seems unconcerned about being stuck in the water with the creature, and quickly pulls two daggers and sends them winging toward the creature. He leaves himself open as he does so, taking a blow from the creature's claws 4 hp that make the first dagger badly miss its mark, but the second scores a solid hit that knocks the mephit back momentarily and causes it to miss as it slashes again with its claws.

Is there anyway we can could get a map. I'd like to know who's close to it before I try my next gambit.

Will do it in the morning; am about to head off to bed, but you're the only one in the water next to it. Silvio's in the water 15 feet away. Dargon and Khaz are on the Blue Nixie and Seka and Kyson are on the Sea Wyvern.
