Hektir rushes up the ladder and makes to cut off the dragon, but finds himself slipping slightly on the ice and has to slow down. half speed on the ice; -4 to Acrobatics checks
Behind him, Quinn casts a spell on Tsin, who flies up through the trapdoor and brings her blade to bear against the dragon. Despite seeming to catch the dragon still unprepared, the hot metal isn't enough to cut through its tough scaled.
Behind her, Pems scales the ladder, giving the dragon the evil eye as he looks through at it, though it seems to have little effect.
The dragon roars, blowing a plume of snow and ice into Tsin's face before taking flight and backwinging out of the tower. Well, that was a crappy roll... 12 points of cold damage, plus you can take AoO

Tsin Windscar |

I don't know what I expected... Tsin braces for the icy pain, and looks quite visibly relieved when the brunt of damage rolls off her like so much bluster. Resist Energy (Cold/10) FTW!!
She watches the creature take flight, with a bit of awe, and tries to kill it.

Hektir the Tracksmage |

Round 2, Init 19
Hektir sees the dragon flee, cursing that he couldn't get in position to keep him penned in.
He casts Produce Flame into his open hand.
"You flee, dragon!? Come face a real man, not the children your friends would slay!"
Hektir tosses a ball of fire at the dragon, his blade in his other hand.

Pemsworth Smith, Esq. |

Pems watches the dragon fly away, Hektir taunting it as it went. He drew his icicle dagger, ready to stab the creature, but instead waits until it's within range and evil eyes it again, this time to lower its attacks!

"This may be the best thing I've ever bought, Zeno ... except for my good hat, by the way. Wish I knew where that blasted thing was. I'd trade this wand for it!"
The dragon roars as Tsin's blade cuts it and again as Hektir's fire slams into it, and soars around the far side of the tower.

Hektir the Tracksmage |

OOH...That's some good Mal, Motte.
Round 3, Init 19
Hektir gives a spit as the dragon flies (presumably) away.
"Ha! Is that all it took?!" He turns to Pems and Quinn. "You guys look for loot while Tsin and I make sure it stays gone. I knew ol' flamy here," Hektir holds up his flaming hand, "would be too much for it."
Hektir casts Fly and flies out to follow the dragon a bit...when he sees it, he scurries back to where he started.
"Maybe I'll wait here to see if it comes back. It's just over there." Hektir points to the dragon.

Tsin growls as the second swing goes wide, her feet not really needing to brace her mid-air. She looks down at her blade, on fire, and she revels in the confrontation. As the dragon flies off, she curses it under her breath. What, we have to chase you now?! I wouldn't have thought dragons were intelligent enough to recognize odds and mortality... smart enough to retreat.
She... retreats to the platform, taking care to stay airborne and avoid the ice altogether. She readies a swing should the beast return, and close. Move two squares south of Hektir

Pemsworth Smith, Esq. |

Pems nods distractedly at Hektir, though he doesn't share the optimism. From everything he's heard of dragons, they're clever and deadly, and he doesn't want to underestimate this one. Instead, he holds a spell, ear-piercing scream, until the dragon appears and is close enough. Then he'll unleash the spell, hopefully dealing 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 damage and dazing it 1 round, unless the dragon succeeds on a Fort Save DC 14 for half damage which also negates the daze effect.

Malavarius King |

Malavarius hoists brushes his bunched robes flat once more after hoisting himself up to the top of the ladder. He keeps his distance from the others, wary of the dragon's icy breath but keeps the wand at the ready for when the dragon shows itself once more. "Mind your feet, Zeno. The dragon races back around the tower, closing on Hektir and roaring in pain and frustration as it shakes off Pems' spell but takes a direct blow from Mal's wand.
It snaps at the tracksmage as it continues its loops back around the side of the tower taking an AoO from the elemental it didn't notice; I think it misses Hektir with a 24.

She watches with a little disappointment as the light of the sun fades from her blade. I would thrill to its constancy.

Malavarius King |

Malavarius bides his time, waiting for the winged beast to come around for another pass. "Blasted dragons. I can't say I'm very fond of seeing one in person. Zeno, I say, do you know if they all just wheel around in the sky like drunken birds?"

Pemsworth Smith, Esq. |

Pems watches the dragon wheel and whirl, a bit distracted by the sheer grace and fury of the beast. Suddenly a wet nose tickles his neck and he jumps, remembering the spells and tricks the rabbit has graced him with!
He waits until the dragon comes around and launches a sickly green ray at him! Ranged Touch; ray of enfeeblement!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 strength drain! Fort Save DC 14 for half!

Malavarius King |

Malavarius looks down at the wand in his hand and strokes his beard contemplatively for a moment before addressing the thin, willowy baton, "Why can't you work that well all the time? Ho hoo, but did you see that dragon fall? He should have minded his wings like you, Zeno. Ha!"

Tsin Windscar |

Tsin takes no time in descending from the top of the tower to the dragon's body, making sure the reptile has no chance to stabilize. Separating head from lengthy neck, she ascends with the head, slowly but surely. She sets down the head, and considers Pems's and Mal's words.
"I agree with Mal. Let's finish with the trolls first."

given the time Quinn would take 20 here, but with captives to liberate and trolls to slay that probably isn't an option

Tsin Windscar |

Once the gathering has occurred, Tsin proceeds down the stairs, enjoying the last minutes of her flight, the lesser burden her armor imposes.
She makes the first floor her destination, forgetting for the mean time the woman and the girl. She brings the dragon's head with her, hoping to intimidate the trolls with its presence.
"Let's hurry. I want the mobility of Quinn's flight with me still when we purge the first floor."
If no one objects, she reaches the first floor stair landing, and opens the door, checking for columns in the foyer before advancing.
Should no columns present themselves, she moves to the west door, and listens for activity over the grating sound of the clockworks.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Likely hearing nothing and seeking something to confront with her vision, she waits until the others are present and ready, before opening the west door.

Hektir the Tracksmage |

Hektir hands the +1 shield to Quinn, should he want it. The warhammer he passes longingly to Tsin, knowing that the weapon is not outdoorsy enough for him. The coins and gems, he scoops into the bag of holding.
He is ready to join the dragon head dragging Tsin down the stairs to slay some trolls, release some hostages, and prune the hedges of many small villages get out of the tower.
He waits on the stairs Tsin to decide where to go.

Quinn Kestrel |

Shield at the ready to protect him from harmful trolls, Quinn stops Tsin from opening the west door. "Here, let me take a peak first." Placing his hand against the door, Quinn projects his mind's eye through the planks.
Door Sight

Tsin Windscar |

"Quinn, would you be so kind again?" She flicks her head to the western door, and readjusts her grip on the horns of the dragon's head. When Quinn gives report, she looks to the others, before throwing the door open, and lobbing the head across the doorway. She defers to anyone, should they suggest a different approach against the fire-vulnerable trolls rumored to dwell in and about here.

Quinn Kestrel |

Quinn obliges, placing his hands against the door and peeking through the woodwork. Door Sight "Only once more this day will Cayden grant me the gift of extended sight, I hope we find the rest of this tower's secrets quickly."

Quinn sees the large room contains little in the way of furniture other than five beds sized for giants and two large chests. A five-foot square extrusion runs from floor to ceiling near the southeast corner with a small rectangular access door at its base.
A pair of trolls appears to be sleeping on two of the beds.

Tsin Windscar |

"Sleeping? I suppose they've gotten used to clanking of this tower." Tsin sets the head down, no longer interested in making a show of it to half-groggy trolls. She looks at Mal, the conscience of the group.
"There are trolls here, master Malavarius. We have two options- leave them to their slumber and raise the signal that the dragon is dead, or finish the trolls off first, then raise the signal. Do you have a preference?"

Quinn Kestrel |

"But, I mean, they are just sleeping, right? Let's get the kids out and let the witches waste their energy on punishing trolls." Quinn arches an eyebrow and pantomimes retreating quietly.

Hektir the Tracksmage |

Hektir reminds Quinn of the dangers outside.
"Except that we have those columns outside too. If we kill these trolls, we can leave another way...or quickly past the stones that broke my sword."
Hektir nods for Quinn/Tsin to silently open the doors so that there may be some troll-bed-slaying.

Malavarius King |

Malavarius strokes his beard in thought, a pensive crease wrinkling his brow, "While I'm sure there may be some good trolls somewhere in the world, I can't imagine they'd be here happily being fed by that troublesome witch upstairs. Putting the brutes down now also means those brave souls from the fishcamps won't get skewered on their tusks when we call them in." He nods, as if agreeing with himself, "I could use this new fiery spell. You'll all want to keep a good and healthy distance if I do though, it seems like it might be rather impressively big." He says the last with a bounce in his bushy eyebrows.

Tsin Windscar |

Tsin grips her falchion, at the ready. She indicates which direction she'll move when Quinn opens the door, encouraging Hektir to take the troll in the opposite bed.
"Alright then, Mal. Once you've had your casting, Hektir and I will close distance and finish what fire has started."
