Okay. First I would like to say to Tucker and Tanis, thank you for moving forward with the tasks that I asked you to complete. Though I appreciate the progress, neither of you are quite done; please see the remarks below.
Tucker:
Tanis:
That being said, and this is directed at Kavis as well, I posted my feedback on your characters on February 9. I reminded you to update your characters so we could get back to it on February 17. The first to say they were done did so on February 21.
If you want to play in this game, common courtesy to all involved requires that you will monitor its threads for new posts, and post yourself on a regular basis. Common courtesy also requires that you post more frequently than once every two weeks. If you say you will make a post, an update, or some such, we expect that you will do so, particularly if you give a time frame for that promised activity.
I understand if you miss your self-imposed deadline by a day or so because you got busy in real life, but if you are going to be absent for an extended period (two weeks counts as extended) I would very much appreciate it if you at least let us know.
Please make the updates I have requested above by Sunday, February 25, 12:00PM CST.
Thank you all, I look forward to playing pathfinder with you.

MisterLurch |

So, nearly a week later, I owe all of you an apology. It may take me most of the day, but I will get a post together today.
@Edalis: I made some edits to your google doc. Red text highlighted in yellow are either my comments (delete these) or suggested changes. Text that is highlighted in yellow and not red is to draw attention to a thing I am talking about. You do still need to include any equipment you might want for your character to have. Otherwise she will start with armor, a bow, some arrows, and a set of clothing; and nothing else. I hope this helps.
@Thynevenom: Your character is unchanged since my last post. My requested edits need to still be made.
@Vindu: Money is still messed up.
Given the delicious irony of my speechifying about self imposed deadlines and the fact that I just missed my own by nearly a week, you may each apply a +1 inherent bonus to an ability score of your choice. Please see the text of the Wish spell for details of how inherent bonuses work.
@Edalis: That was a clever way to get a review of your character formatting. I can help you with url links if you would like.
Sadly, at this point, none of you are cleared to post in gameplay. Please make the modifications I mentioned above and when they are made I will clear you to join the action.

So, if you said it, I cannot find it, what race is Aubrin? Also, since it is part of Elaheil's code of ethics, when introducing named NPCs, please point out any that are elves. While technically it would be any elf and not just named ones I think that may be too much of a bother. I appreciate your help.

MisterLurch |

Everything is fixed.
Well, almost.
The tags in your equipment list (thank you for putting the equipment list in) are still messed up. You have a bunch of tags that seem to be intended to end a bolded text command, but are typed like this:
B]Carrying Capacity:[87/B]
There are two things wrong with this. The tags should always be done with lowercase letters. Capitals will work with some, but not with others. Also, the number in there is preventing the tag from working. It should be like this: (replacing the { with [ of course)
{b]Carrying Capacity: 87{/b]
The end result should be this:
Carrying Capacity: 87
The skills look good.
Go ahead and fix the tags. Meanwhile, I will post an intro for you.

MisterLurch |

MisterLurch did your introduction already, to bold is {b] "text" {/b] but with brackets obviously
Yep, just pick up where I left off with whatever you might choose to do.
There is an app for Paizo, called wayfarer. I have had difficulty posting with it, so I do not use it.

Elaheil Ambara |

Tyler: The only map I see at this time is that of the interior of the Taproot inn.
All the rest: I am ready to post again to move out of the inn. However before I do, Kavis and Tucker really should make their initial posts so that we can integrate them into the group for a story line standpoind. At this moment there is a tiefling who just walked through the door and someone, we know not who, upstairs. If your character wishes to group up with the party then you need to have that character interact and make your wishes known.

Elaheil Ambara |

It is great to have you guys posting. If I might interject, your headline when you post is incomplete. Reference Brent's headline and compare it to your own, you will notice that his says:
Male Grippli Weapon Adept Monk 1 [ HP 12/12 | AC 20/20/15 , Fort +4, Ref +7, Will +4 | Init +7; Perception +8 (darkvision 60ft.) | Ki pool 0/0]
Whereas yours says:
Male Vanara Shifter 1
This added info is for quick reference of vital statistics for everyone to see and should be updated as we play. This makes the most basic and most frequently used info readily available to the other players and the GM which allows for time savings when posting.
I know learning a new system is always challenging and I appreciate your willingness to get all these wrinkles ironed out. See you in the game.

MisterLurch |

I have moved you all to the map with the trading company. The brand and burgeoning fire are marked with the orange/yellow circle. That is on the thatched roof.
The Trading Company has only a single floor. You can easily go in through the thatch, but you will be in, approximately, the same place as if you go in through the door.
If you wish to move the piece of iron, it is not entirely red-hot, just the end that was being worked when it was turned into a firestarter.

Elaheil Ambara |

Hey guys, I am back from house hunting. I am going to assume that based upon positioning my character that I cannot yet see the fire but might see the smoke from it. I will also assume that the noises from the area marked hobgoblins is something that everyone can hear. If these things are true then please see my post. If they are not then modify them as appropriate

Elaheil Ambara |

Kavis,
The beauty of a play by post is that you can be botted for RL stuff. If you are actually interested in the game then please stick around and we can Bot you for the 2 months. If you are actually not all that interested anymore then I understand but you will be missed.

Elaheil Ambara |

It is still a bit difficult to visualize the situation fully. My mage hand has a range of 30 feet, I am 30 feet from the fire. Given the relativly steep incline of the roof, can I use mage hand to grab onto portions of the burning thatch and just tilt it outward and once past vertical, let go to allow gravity to do the rest and have it fall to the ground below? I would imagine that this may take more than one round of pulling and dropping but I don't want to post it as my action if my character would already realize that the effort would either not be possible or that it would be ineffective.
For my contingency plan, is the base of the roof generally normal in height? Specifically, if I were able to increase my natural reach to 10 feet, with me standing beneath the eaves, could I reach the relevant portion of the burning thatch to pull it down?

MisterLurch |

So the problem with trying to remove the thatch itself is that that is not loosely plopped on top of a roof. It is very tightly bound with the metal hook thingys. It is also laid in very long courses, so the thatch you can grab is tightly bound by its own hooks and the hooks of several more layers up.
Each course is also some 8 feet long with only a foot or two of its tips exposed.
See this image to get a feel for what I mean.

MisterLurch |

Since Elaheil is planning to initiate combat, there will naturally be a surprise round which consists of only a standard or move action, not both. Since you all are aware of the hobgoblins and they are not aware of you, you all have a surprise round action.
Thynevenom, you can cover a single move's worth of ground .. Vindu, you can get to the brand .. Etc.
Also, for Vindu, you cannot simply scrape the burning thatch off with something. It is effectively stapled to the roof, each layer, with many staples. If you will look at the image I linked, you will see how a thatched roof is constructed. You can fetch water from somewhere to put out the thatch, or you can try to beat out the fires. Cutting the burning section out of the roof would take too much time and the fire would simply spread faster than you can cut.
You will take some fire damage from the iron if you pick it up. the cool end is only cool in relation to the glowing end.

Elaheil Ambara |

Tyler, regarding the discussion of water, I asked earlier if there was any nearby that we could see but I do not see an answer, did I miss your response? Baring that, I also asked if we had any within the provisions our survivors are carrying that would be able to help.
...I am really wishing that I had memorized my Drench cantrip today.

MisterLurch |

From where you are now, you can see that there is a trough in the trading post yard that is full of water. There is a lever-operated pump standing next to it.
You do have water with the provisions among the survivors, but it would probably be best to conserve your 'known good' water for now.

Elaheil Ambara |

Thanks, If Khurdan and Vindu work together using the trough they can probably get the fire out while Thy and Elaheil deal with the Hobs. If the trough starts running out of water then hopefully we have dealt with the Hobs and can help with pumping water/getting another bucket into the mix.
If Khurdan has not seen the trough yet I will mention it to him just before I start casting the spell.
