Rukn is still waiting... his breath is helping him be aware of the time passing. He constantly looks at both of the possible lines of shooting, and ready to cover any companion's advance. His bow is ready...

-What are they waiting for?

He can hear the high-pitched voices in the room ahead.

-They sound a bit like the creature we faced back in the thicket, but... I don't feel the same 'aura' here. Maybe the Dawnflower protects us...

Solomon moved into the hall, hugging the wall and taking a look thought the nearest door.

Going into A13. Peeking into A16. If there's no danger he'll move on and do the same at A17, then A15, then stopping at the position I have him currently at on the map (obviously if there's danger before that, he'll stop there).

Kilarra takes a few steps back up the way they came and pulls out a piece of chalk and lightly marks in an obvious place the word 'Pugwampis?' and an arrow indicating where the voices are coming from so that the main group will be warned and then, quickly stashing the chalk in her belt pouch, get's her weapons back out and continues to follow Solomon.

...what sort of insidious god would have made a creature like a pugwampi...certainly the work of some great demon lord...

DM SCreen:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
1d20 + 6 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 4 - 4 = 11
1d20 + 6 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 4 - 4 = 9
1d20 + 6 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 4 - 4 = 15

As you enter A13, Kilarra gestures for you to wait and examines the doorway. Giving the all clear sign, you approach the doorway to the kitchen (A16) where the high pitched voices grow louder in some kind of argument. A subtle tension fills you; a feeling that something terrible is about to happen.

Stealth (Solomon): 2d20 ⇒ (13, 3) = 16. 3 + 6 = 9.
Stealth (Kilarra): 2d20 ⇒ (3, 17) = 20. 3 + 6 = 9.

A very unlucky stumble makes both Kilarra's and Solomon's equipment rattle and they stop short of the doorway to the kitchen (A16) as the three voices all make an exclamation of alarm and then fall silent.

I updated the map to reflect player positions after the preceding events.

Initiative!:
Rukn: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24.
Solomon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18.

Alexander: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14.
Pugwampis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7.

You moved back without attempting to be quiet, then started trying to be quiet after leaving A13? Then yes, only one roll needed. If you were trying to be stealthy in A13, you need two rolls.

Ah. Sorry for the misunderstanding, Solomon.

Round 1:
Hearing the sounds of alarm from the pugwampis, Rukn moves forward to get a clear line of fire to the door to the kitchen and takes a ready stance with his bow. Kilarra and Solomon withdraw to the entrance to the hall flanking the doorway, clearly prepared to attack something. Alexander moves into the ruined nave, his hands and voice weaving arcane power around himself which hardens into a magical defense. Zhalet moves forward with Alexander, allowing the older man to take the lead. Erizi moves forward to teh edge of the ruined nave to see what is going on.

Zhalet and Rukn:
You can hear the sounds of at least two creatures moving quietly in the kitchen, but it does not sound as if they are coming out.

Erizi, I hope this is an acceptable interpretation. Where you were, you would not have been able to see anything of what transpired.

Provided everyone else allows him to take the lead, Alexander walks into the kitchen, the heel of his cane clicking against the floor and a spell burning in his mind. As he enters the room, the old man speaks in a harsh, snarling language, his voice dry and commanding:.

Gnoll:
"You will face me, Pugwampi."

The instant any pugwampis show themselves, Alexander raises up and opens his free hand - and riotously coloured lights spray from his palm.

Colour spray as soon as the Pugwampis show themselves. Please see spell description for full effects. Will save DC 16 to resist.

Yes, I know I might get hurt, but the best way to deal with the Pugwampis' bad luck-field seems to me to hit them with attacks that require no rolls on our part. Just please be ready to heal me if necessary. ^_^;

Seeing that people are not waiting, Kilarra readies an action to move into a flanking position and attack the first enemy that get's into melee.

whether by the pug's moving to melee or by movement of an ally I am ready to move into flanking and attack. If I am not able to do so without provoking a AOO then my acrobatics mod is +9. If I cannot get to flanking but can 'gang-up' on a target then that will suffice.

Looks like I'll be giving backup this time. But..

Zhalet stage whispers over to Solomon.

If there is a problem I can Grease the entrance. Just have to make sure everyone is back out here before I do it.

I will post an update in the morning. Alexander, I have moved you the 30 feet of a single move, and you are not in range to use your color spray. I need to know what you will do with your standard action.

A16: Beyond a doorless arch appears to be a large kitchen complete with walls lined in shelves and cupboards, and an enormous oven against the north wall. Several drawers and cupboard doors stand askew, and the floor here is a jagged field of broken glass, smashed pottery, bits of sharp stone, jagged bones, and discarded cutlery.

Alexander, additional information that might affect your choice: The entire floor of the kitchen counts as difficult terrain.

Round 2

Rukn moves into the statue hallway and looses an arrow at one of the pugwampis, but in an unlucky moment his bowstring snags on a piece of his clothing and it throws his shot off.

Alexander moves into the doorway to the kitchen and draws a slender blade out of his cane, with Kilarra flanking him.

One of the pugwampis points at Rukn and mutters an arcane phrase under its breath and the second points at Alexander with the exact same gesture and words. The third looses an arrow at Alexander.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7.
The arrow misses, and the pugwampi curses at the other two.
Rukn and Alexander each need to make a DC 10 will save or your weapons gain the broken condition.

Erizi moves into the hallway with the other four ready to do some violence. (Erizi, do you want to be inside the kitchen? You have 20 feet further you can possibly move.)

This was how people got killed.

Now he and Zhalet were completely squeezed out and unable to engage, and anything coming from deeper in the ruins would have them flanked.

He took a breath. Not everyone had the training he'd been afforded at the High Temple. They were all untested. Even him. He hoped they would all survive the learning curve. So far, he was skeptical.

Sorry guys, I thought I had updated the fight today. Here you go.

Round 3

Rukn shakes off the pugwampi's spell, and fires two shafts at the things in a blur of speed. Both shots miss their mark, however.

Solomon Reflex DC 12: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19.
Solomon steps into the room avoiding the sharp bits underfoot and hurls a dart at one of the little evil things, smashing into its chest. With a piercing scream of agony, it collapses to the floor in a wash of blood.

His scream of agony is answered from further down the statue hallway by the bestial battle roar of several animals.

The brightly coruscating colors flash out from his upraised hands and wash over the two surviving pugwampis. They both stop moving and stare at the pretty lights, then fall to the sharply stabby ground as their eyes roll up in their heads.

Pugwampis don't want to look at pretty lights:
Will save DC 16: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11.
Damage from broken stuff: 1d3 ⇒ 2.
Will save DC 16: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22.
Damage from broken stuff: 1d3 ⇒ 1.

Kilarra steps in behind Alexander just in time to see the pugwampis fall to the ground succumbing to the effects of the color spray. Her arrow also narrowly misses the pugwampis as they fall to the ground.

Four baboons come barreling out of a room further down the hallway, murder in their little ape eyes. Zhalet, seeing the threat to her companions, slips between Kilarra and Rukn to intercept the baboons. They run up to Zhalet, their sharp teeth slashing, heedless of danger to themselves. As they crowd into the narrower section of the hallway, they interfere with each other's attacks, leaving Zhalet unscathed. She responds in kind, slashing twice at the baboon closest to the archers. She scores a solid hit on the baboon and it snarls at her in pain.

Zhalet vs. Baboons:

Baboon #1 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 171d20 ⇒ 6) 6 + 3 = 9.
Baboon #2 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 31d20 ⇒ 11) 3 + 3 = 6.
Baboon #3 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 101d20 ⇒ 16) 10 + 3 = 13.
Baboon #4 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 61d20 ⇒ 5) 5 + 3 = 8.
Zhalet AoO: (1d20 ⇒ 2 1d20 ⇒ 14) 2 + 4 = 6.
Zhalet Melee Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 15 1d20 ⇒ 14) 14 + 4 = 18.
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7.

No mercy in him, Erizi stomps through the kitchen and smashes one of the unconscious pugwampi's heads to pulp with his enormous hammer.

Initiative Order:
Rukn - 24
Kilarra - 23
Solomon - 18 So somehow I missed a facet of your character. Solomon, you are immune to the bad luck effect near the pugwampis.
Alexander - 14
Zhalet - 9 Hope you are okay with those actions.

Pugwampis - 7
Erizi - 6

Shocked at the sudden arrival of slathering primates and grateful to Zhalet for her quick action to interfere with their attacks Kilarra glances over her shoulder at the last remaining Pug

...these cursed demons...just die already

She seems to decide to wait a moment before acting apparently hoping that her allies will dispatch the last one soon.

Once they do she drops her bow and draws her Kukri as she attempts slip past one of the Baboons in order to get positioned behind them and then attacks.

No complaints about a move that nets me a couple of successful attacks! Going to go ahead and post my round early since I won't be able to do it later.

Despite the slashes she delivered to one of the baboons, they continue to press in against Zhalet. She will be hard pressed to guard against such a large number of opponents. With two archers behind her, she decides to hold her ground and try to eliminate the monkeys quickly.

They are small, I need to reduce my exposure and increase theirs, take a defensive position.
الفرح السحلية تشكل (Basking Lizard Pose)

Zhalet widens her stance and drops into a low crouch, legs and arms extended wide. She is now face to face with the creatures and able to use her scimitar against them horizontally as well as vertically. She flicks her wrist to deliver a short sweeping cut against the wounded baboon.

Start battle dance as a move action. Attack the already wounded baboon

Leaving Rukn to finish off the last Pugwampi, Alexander leaves the kitchen and moves to stand behind Kilarra. There, he points a finger at the nearest baboon and mutters a single Word of Power. An icy blue ray lances from his fingertip at the enraged monkey.

Move to stand in the open space above Kilarra. Cast ray of frost. Ranged touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 for 1d3 ⇒ 2 cold damage to closest baboon.

Sarenrae likes me. :)

"Zhalet!" Solomon barked as the baboons rushed in to swarm over his pupil. He threw himself past Killara to fill the gap in their ranks and took a heavy swing at the lead baboon.

I draw an AoO from moving. Not exactly sure where the Difficult Terrain ends. If possible I'd like to use Acrobatics to avoid that AoO.

Acro vs. Baboon CMD (if possible): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Hmm. Worth a shot.

Though sorely tempted to involve himself with the main battle, Erizi has to make sure the remaining pug doesn't re-join the fray with his bad luck. Does the bad luck still remain with him unconcious? I'll roll twice and if not then I guess the first roll applies.

Seeing Rukn seemingly attempt to massage the Pug back to life, Erizi steps in with his massive maul.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Pug Pounding 1

Round 4:

The unluck aura persists while they yet live.

Rukn steps back from the baboon and, no longer able to get a clear shot at the unconscious pugwampi, fires two shots at the nearest baboon. Solomon rushes forward to defend Zhalet and jostles Rukn at the most unlucky time and Rukn's shots go wild.

Solomon draws an attack from the baboon which misses, and responds in kind, his falchion biting deeply into the baboon. The baboon falls to the floor shrieking its death.

Baboon AoO:
(1d20 ⇒ 41d20 ⇒ 9) 9 + 3 = 12.

Alexander moves back out of the room and unleashes arctic cold upon the baboons with an arcane word. Unfortunately the baboon moves just wrong and the beam goes past it harmlessly.

Zhalet drops into a low fighting style to open up more alternatives. Alexander moving behind her fouls her strike at an unlucky moment and the attack misses.

As the pugwampi continues to snore, the baboons snarl and close in to attack Zhalet once more. Two of them land solid bites and Zhalet cries out in pain. Zhalet, you suffer 8 damage from the two attacks.

Baboons vs. Zhalet:
Baboon #2 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 191d20 ⇒ 16) 16 + 3 = 19.
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
Baboon #3 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 191d20 ⇒ 17) 17 + 3 = 20.
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5.
Baboon #4 Attack: (1d20 ⇒ 191d20 ⇒ 4) 4 + 3 = 7.

Inside the room, Erizi puts an end to the last pugwampi with a precise, crushing blow. The sense of impending misfortune lifts from everyone.

Kilarra, seeing that the pugwampis all lay dead, moves quickly out of the room, attempting to slip between the fierce baboons. She is unable to get past them, but scores a light hit against the closest. Kilarra, you do not add your Dex modifier to damage until level 3.

The Reflex DC 12 save is for each round that you are standing inside the room at the beginning of your turn. I looked back and found that I did not make that clear. Sorry bout that. Here are saves for those who began their turns inside the kitchen. Erizi, you will need a roll for next round.

Reflex saves for pointy floor:
Alexander: (1d20 ⇒ 171d20 ⇒ 19) 17 + 2 = 19.
Kilarra: (1d20 ⇒ 141d20 ⇒ 14) 14 + 7 = 21.
Solomon: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24.
Erizi: (1d20 ⇒ 31d20 ⇒ 10) 3 + 3 = 6. Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2.

Initiative Order:
Rukn - 24
Solomon - 18
Alexander - 14
Zhalet - 9 8 damage from baboons.
Baboons - 8
Erizi - 6 3 damage from pointy floor.
Kilarra - 5 Initiative changed because of delay.

Health:
Pugwampi 1 - Dead
Pugwampi 2 - Dead
Pugwampi 3 - Dead

Baboon 3 - Unhurt

-Thanks the Dawn. We need to find out something to get rid of this bad luck these pugs carry, or next time might be our last. Now, let's finish off these apes.

Rukn, now more relaxed, grabs two arrows again and aims carefully...

Crit threat! Attack roll to confirm: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 1 - 4 = 12 and double my damage.
