Inside they find that the doors lead into a room that is basically a platform surrounded by a long drop, how that works you have no idea, but you know that you do not want to go off that edge. A large Shaitan with a nasty flaming blade stands there, and as soon as the door finally opens you are all blasted with a glitter dust

We are. Sadly Kixzik is a mindchemist instead of a beastmorph. At the time of creation we had two melee characters, Churley and Arthur.

Churley can stand in melee and make ranged attacks just fine, and his AC is high enough to tank. In this case it is a benefit that we don't have someone tied to melee since the target is past an obstacle.
