Tramtris Arvanxi |
its eaten 3 posts so far, anyone else having that problem? I did have a question, what at the ...laws concering things like dueles or the like in this city?
He drank lightly doing his best to look well a little bored at a table. He glanced torwards the door when he noticed a man who looked like the one Brannok described. He gladly accepts the drink though.
We should have thought this a little better out... He thought to himself waving the man over. He made sure the heavy signet ring marking his house gleamed a bit in the low lights of the place.
"Buying a round? must have been a good day, tell me my new friend, how goes the day?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
the diplomacy is to get him over to my table hopefully, if its meant to be a bluff check to see if he realizes i might have ill intent its also a +7 . . .
Brannock Galdarg |
Celebrating again, my friend? Please allow me and my friends to help you celebrate! Brannock walks over and sits down at the table the man sits at.
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
With Brannock headed to sit with the man, Auði looks for the group that was reacting positively to the free drinks and joins them, keeping half an eye on the action by Brannock. "Things might be about to take an ugly turn. That man might have loose purse strings, but he's also known to take advantage of young boys and girls. If you'll look the other way and keep quiet about what's about to go down, I think Cayden may have shared enough blessings with me to offer you all a couple more drinks on the house." Auði drops a couple of gold coins on the table and raises his mug.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Yikes, here's hoping that offer of a bribe is enough to put things over the top.
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
A wide smile creases Auði's face and he winks at the crowd. He raises his mug to the man, "Thieves? No, not thieves. We're the Torchbearers. Last night we killed a shadow beast. Now we're here to start sweeping the streets of some of the scum like you that foul Westcrown." He looks around, "But perhaps you all should judge for yourselves? You've heard what this man has to say. He calls us liars and thieves. Allow my friend over here to tell his tale and then you can help judge who is telling the truth."
Go Brannock!
Tramtris Arvanxi |
Tramtris had been about to speak, but then Audi began and he wisely kept his mouth closed. Tonight was more about violence than talking, he was some sort of brute evidently anyhow. He moved though torwards the man putting himself in the way to cut him off if he tried to run.
Brannock Galdarg |
Twelve Boys have come to me with tales of your sick and wicked preferences. Two of them will no longer tell those tales thanks to your uncontrollable urges. I warned you after the last boy died that I would come for you. However I will give you a choice. I am not a man without a heart and soul. You may not have given your victims a choice but I will offer you a choice.
Brannock loomed over the filthy man threateningly and then spared a quick glance around the room, gauging the reactions of the crowd.
You can stand up now and tell the truth to those gathered here in this inn. They will serve as witness to your confession and we will escort you to the magistrate.
Brannock wondered if it was wise to offer this option to the man. He had eluded the law several times before. As much as he longed to deal with the man in another fashion, his ideals required him to at least offer the man a way out.
If you decide not to accept my offer, my friends and I will take you outside in the alley and make sure you never bother another boy again. We will make sure you are not capable of pushing your "affections" on anyone ever again.

Someone help me...this is a renowned brigand...he came to my shop today and tried to extort protection money from me! I said no and now he is here to make me pay!
an important roll here!
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 bluff
Some of the patrons seem unsure...
not good enough to win them to his side but good enough to keep them not totally on yours
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
Auði rolls his eyes and chuckles, "Renowned brigand?" He drawls it out, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "Undoubtedly the second coming of the Council of Thieves. I'm sure you can embellish your tale better that than! Surely he threatened to bash you over with the Starstone itself."
Diplomacy 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
Tramtris Arvanxi |
Brigands? that sir is slander, especially considering we recently slew what eight brigands preying on traders outside the city Audi? Brannock?
He paused rolling his shoulders back and giving the man a big wide grin.
"If you are so quick to claim innosense I am sure we can go retrieve a cleric able to discern if you are lying or not. 'friend' "
Brannock Galdarg |
Not a problem guys. I welcome the help. Baby makes frequent posting difficult sometimes.
Brannock gestures to the crowd, These people are smart enough to know I would not try to extort money from you in a public place or even threaten you in a public place over money. NO! Your days of preying on the poor and impoverished youth of this city are over, one way or another! You have heard my offer. Choose now! At this last, Brannock cracks his knuckles.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Nope, Auði has no clue so just keeps on...
Auði nods sagely and looks around at the barkeep and the other patrons, "Mmmm, have to admit the half-orc's got an excellent point there. Not exactly the place one would pick to shake someone down. No, this is more the place for someone to seek justice for a criminal who has been evading it for far too long. Things are broken here in Westcrown. It should be the dottari that help us sort these things out, but they all seem to look the other way when it affects us commoners."
Tramtris Arvanxi |
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
He was watching closely the scene and the snake of a man waiting for any reason to strike. . .
Hippa |
By this time Hippa has managed to whittle down a couple of suitors or perhaps they departed for other venues, the effect was the same. She found herself with a what appeared to be a tightly knit group of entertainers who were freestyling their music and dance to blow off some steam.
Sense motive 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 HEY! MiniGM said everyone roll sense motive.
"Why yes, I will partake in in the hookah. MMmmmmmm Fine tobacco you have there. Tell me again your story of moving the harpsichord up three flights of stairs and this time SHOW me your scar."
Brannock Galdarg |
Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Tramtris Arvanxi |
He remembered his classes at the academy dealing with the art of magic, In fact he picked up a neat little trick there. He was pretty sure the man just cast a spell but wasnt entirely sure.
"I saw that, Filthy spell caster. Is that how you fog the childrens minds to take advantage of them?!?"
He moved forward rapidly reaching the grab the man by the hair and introduce his face to the tabletop
what would you like me to roll? *whistles innocently*
MiniGM |
I don't know what you are talking about! Ask the man! He will tell you he is mistaken...watch he will go take a seat once he figures it out! he squawks
1d20 ⇒ 9
Just go home and get some rest and you will come to your senses!
Sense Motive or perception Tram...and a Will save please.
Audi you may also roll a per cep or SM
Most of the bar seems to go back to their drinks, growing bored with the spectacle.
The bartender pulls a club I dunno what is going on but I don't want no bloodshed in here...unless I am shedding it
Brannock Galdarg |
Perhaps I was mistaken. Brannock sits down at a table and returns to his drink. He has a slightly confused and glassy look on his face.
Tramtris Arvanxi |
He blinked too, he was about to.... I should get going fellows home for some rest, I dont know whats going on with me lately... He said blankly tossing a coin to the person who had been bringing them drinks earlier and making his way to the door.
Brannock Galdarg |
Brannock enters the tavern in a fog and immediately retires to his room for the evening.
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
Auði watches Brannock make his way upstairs, "Really strange. At first, Brannock seemed convinced he has his guy. Then he suddenly decided he had the wrong person. Behaving a little strangely too. But, I saw the whole thing and saw no sign of anything being done to him. I asked the people at the bar to keep a lookout for our guy, but I guess he's slipped away for now. I guess we're ready to tackle that next thing you had for us in the morning."
MiniGM |
But we can deal with him later. First the temple. They have made an old temple of Erastil their home base, it is a building surrounded by 4 abandoned buildings. We have kept watch on them for a few weeks and no one ever comes in or out of the other 4 buildings. We will send you 4 in, and I will have the rest of the crew keep watch for runners on the outside. How would you like to handle this?
He also presents the team with a box of potions
The chest contains eight
potions of cure light wounds, a potion of cure moderate wounds,
and a potion of shield of faith
Tramtris Arvanxi |
Charmed? I should have known. He will rue the day I promise, but to the larger problem perhaps we hit each building one at a time, splitting up into the unknown doesnt sound. . . promising.
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
Auði shakes his head, "Charmed? Not sure how I missed that, but if you're sure...I figured it was just someone who looked a lot like him and that Brannock had seen what he was expecting to see."
After listening to the discussion over the buildings, he adds, "Yes, if no one is coming in or out of them, they should be safe. We'd better make sure there are no hidden routes through them though? If these Bastards are paranoid, they may have them set up as a way to look out for intruders or as escape routes for themselves."
Hippa |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Checks in with the group the next evening after a jubilant celebratory "success". Apparently, her gnome-like cheerfulness was infectious during her day-job was affecting sales. She walks to the inn, whistling a tune reminiscent from previous night and oddly enough she is accompanied by an unseen chorus of whistlers for the refrain.
*whistling refrain stops as she speaks* Ghostsound expired.
"Top O'the evening! Mywhistlingimprovedovernightitseems. Drivingmybossupthewall." *giggle*
Auði Jaw-Jacker |
"All right then. I think we approach the area and take one last look around with all of us. If everything looks clear, let's go through the four outer buildings one at a time and leave someone to watch each of them. Then the four of us can move as a group on the main building."
Hippa |
"An old worship space of Erastil? Color me intrigued.", as she touches some knapped flint arrowheads wired to a bracelet. "Who are we talking about again? I seem to have missed the first part of this conversation."
