Mykel quickly gets out his rope and binds the wolfman. I'm not taking any chances...he says after a quick check for any weapons or the like. perc: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

The Exchange

Female Ifrit Rogue 6 | AC: 21/16/[21] | HP: 48/48 | Fort +4*, Ref +10* (evasion), Will +1* (*+2 vs fire/light) | CMB +4, CMD 19 | Init +7 | Perception +5 (+2 vs surprise)

Heal: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Laiashi arrives on the scene at last, only to find that the wolfman is already unconscious. "Great. Well my plan for this is probably a bad idea now... wouldn't want to kill him." All that work, those lives lost, the gold... all for nothing. "But you're going to need more than one dose to bring him back, if he doesn't die first."

Grand Lodge

Male Human (Azlanti) Bard (Duettist) 7 | HP 52/52 | AC 18, T 11, FF 17 CMD 14 | Fort +6, Ref +8, Will +7 | Init +4(5)* | Perc +10 | SM +18* | Spells Remaining: level 1 4/5 level 2 4/4 level 3 2/2 | Bardic Performance Rounds 22/23

Constantin will administer the first dose while he remains unconscious.

His hirsute form shall be our warning flag;
His life we'll keep, if it still can be saved.

Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Scarab Sages

HP 45/45; Reroll@+3 1/1; uRogue 6: (AC21 normally) Fort +5; Reflex +12; Will +5; Init +5; Perception +12; SM +10;

Bulgo double checks the knots, but lets others force the cure down.

"Let us hope this works. One way or another the menace will be handled. If he dies... then we should remove the body or others will realise who he is/was..."

Dark Archive

Male Gnome Sorcerer (Elemental Fire) 3 HP 15/23 | AC14 T13 F12 CMD9 | F+4 R+4 W+3 | Init+2 | Perc/SM -1 | Darkvision 60'

The Great Swarmholio slumps to the ground, his back against a wall, and starts trying to pick bits of sewage from his clothing. While there is no evidence this will keep him occupied for long, it at least suggests that he's not going to keep blasting the inert werewolf with more fire. For now.

Ok guys I'm going to hand wave you force feeding the wolfsbane to vilk and head strait to the rolls.

Vilk's rolls:
cure fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 prevent harm fort sav: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Your party waste no time trying to administer the cure. You drag the Mauler's body to a corner and attempt to force some Wolfsbane down his throat. Constantin takes the lead while Mykel holds the old wolf's maw open and massages it's throat to get it to swallow. It takes some doing but you finally force enough of the poison down Vilk's throat. You stand aside for a few minutes to see if the cure takes.

Eventually a transformation takes place, the Midnight Mauler starts to shake in convulsions, coarse fur falling out in clumps as his body writhes and warps to eventually reveal a withered old man. The old Swordmaster groans. You realize that it's very suspicions behavior being out here on the street so you gather Vilk's unconscious body, and take it back to the safe house Ryado Erudyta, has provided.

Vilk recovers consciousness around sunrise. He thanks you all, but otherwise remains silent and withdrawn, ashamed of his actions. Within a week, he leaves Ustalav for Varisia, where he eventually settles into the hustle and bustle of Korvosa to live out his final years.

Ryando sums up your accomplishment in one sentence shortly before you leave on your river boat back to Absalom;You know, by ending the Midnight Mauler’s reign of terror before the city guard tracked Vilk down, you have spared the Pathfinder Society from an awkward situation that may have eventually led to the entire Society’s expulsion from Ustalav. Ryando pours the tea... Oh well...on to the next mission eh?

Congrats guys! Don't think you could have done better! I'll have chronicles out soon!

Aye, that was definitely one for the memoirs. Laishi, we couldn't have done it without you mixing up the cure. The rest of our work woukd have been for naught if that didn't work. Good job everyone! Mykel says as he salutes with his cup of tea.

Good job guys! that was great. Luckless, that was smooth as heck...i like the alternative chase mechanics...good job!

Thanks, tried to give you something more like a chase while "keeping the skeleton" of the chase mechanics..(often called a skill challenge in earlier editions)..I liked several things I tweaked with it..and some not so much..but as long as you were engaged I'm happy.

Overall give this adventure an above average rating, despite the BBEG being sub-par and anti-climatic ...I think the writer did a fantastic job of enabling me to get a lot of the backstory to you all, through exposition and other means. Rotowiski and even Ryando are good supporting NPCs. If I run it again in CORE..I'll make sure I include the constant menace, of being caught by the guards, a bit more of a theme. Otherwise..I'd give myself a passing grade, on how I ran it. As for you guys...Thanks! You are to a person..all strong roll-players that, took the theme of your characters and embraced the story. Spoiled GM am I!
