So, I'm noticing that my status is really shit. By far the worst of the lot. Like, so bad that I'm supposed to be some kind of indebted servant / slave. I can definitely work with that, just wanted to know if we're actually using these rules as they're written.

Yorick- I think Huginn might get a +1 to status for race, which would at least raise you to 2.

Ngnnnneh. I think I'll forgo the crossbow, I don't really wanna be super-squishy at level 1. I'm sure something will turn up. I'll just get a sling.

Quick question - which part of the Wasted West are we starting in? I'm going to extend my backstory a bit, and I'd like to detail how Ariso went from being a middle-class clandestine revolutionary wannabe in Salzbach to a penniless, exiled wanderer in the Wastes.
You can be from anywhere- circumstances will bring you all together at the appointed time.

Thanks for the words of praise! I think the published adventure is doing most of the heavy lifting as of now, but I've learned from my pbp history (finally) that it's better to have a lot of short updates than a text dump in every post. Better for you, better for me, better for all.
I'll have an update for you all later today. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in further adventures in Midgard, I'm playing a paladin of Khors in another game set in the Crossroads region in the Margreve and we're looking for two replacements after a hiatus from the DM- preferably another warrior type and a druid or cleric. Just an idea, but...
I find it much easier to roleplay my character when s/he knows at least one or two of the other PCs. My backstory isn't quite finished, but it should be in the next few hours. I'm looking to tie in with another character if anyone's up for it. Ariso's definitely one of the good guys, and likeable, if a little arrogant, chaotic, and sometimes misguided - it'd be pretty easy to link up with some recent history.
And though we've already begun play, I reckon it's at a suitably introductory stage to not seem incongruous. Anyone keen?
Edit: looking over everyone's backstories, Olivia and Vinter seem like good options - they are both strong melee types, and Ariso shares with them the loss of loved ones. If either of you are keen, I'm thinking perhaps one of you could have rescued Ariso from danger, either dust goblins (Vinter), or some kind of aberration (Olivia).
I'm up for it. Olivia spends a lot of her time patroling the Bone Road hunting aberrations. She could have easily come across Ariso that way.

Perhaps I was being attacked by a smaller, weaker version of the one in the bestiary, and you came across the rather one-sided battle and managed to turn the tide..?

In regards to mapping- what's the easiest way for you folks to see a combat map? I know some people have had trouble with google docs, I have photobucket as well. Any preferences?
Either works fine for me. Photobucket is prettier, but probably a lot more work to update, right?

It's steep, but not an impossible climb. The boar can attempt it, but Jabbik needs to make a handle animal check.
