Kaos moves headlong toward danger. He gets wet.

Seeing Anga focusing on the Orc handlers, Mordea glances back at the Dwarf Wizard, "Take out what is leading the big fella. Good idea!" Mordea loads a bolt and sends it toward the Orc Anga has been attacking. The bolt sticks in the Orc's shoulder.

As Ragnir and Kaos sink deeper in the water, the Giant is lead by its remaining handler to throw a rock at the Dwarf Ranger, barely hitting Ulfgard.

Anga will know that this is a Cave Giant. A hunched over creature that acts like it never fully learned to walk erect. They are essentially a toothy Hill Giant with a face somewhere between an Orc and a Ogre.

As the Giant gets hit with another bolt, he becomes enraged and starts slashing about with his chains. Both the live and dead Orc gets caught up in the frenzy. The chain with live Orc crashes into Ragnir.

As the Giant howls in rage and pain, the Giant chokes up on his whip-like chains and goes after both the Dwarf Warpriest to his left and the big human to his right. It misses the Dwarf, but bits and pieces of Orc shower the big human and striking true.

Round Five

As Kaos approaches the Giant lashes out with its dead Orc chain but misses.

Kaos deftly avoids the chain strike to land a big axe blow against the giant.

Mordea misses with a crossbow bolt. The usual "Otyugh turds!" can be heard under her breath.

Ulfgard attacks with the universal hammer language landing a solid strike on the Giant.

Anga misses the last living Orc as it thrashes about wrapped up in the Cave Giant's chain.

With a power surge from his legs and blue sparks from his weapon, the Dwarf Warpriest hits the Giant.

The Cave Giant enraged and in pain, chokes up on the chains and strikes the now close Warpriest and big human. The giant missed the Dwarf but landed a solid blow against the big human.

Haskyll prepares to fire another bolt, but he holds off seeing the fighters engaged.

Kaos nearly finishes off the Giant with a mighty swing of his over-sized axe.

But it was Ulfgard in full rage, that deals the final blow. The Cave Giant stumbles and falls face first in the shallow shores of this small lake, dead.

The party will then see several Orcs near the front gates of the city turn and run toward the woods and the Belkzen wilderness.

Victory!

The raid on Trunau is essentially over.

Kurst Grath and several of the town guards witnessed the heroic feat from the nearby fallen tower in the Inner Quarter.

It is not long before he picks his way through the rubble and toward the Hopesprings Pond. He approaches the party, "We were heading this way when we saw you engage the Cave Giant. It killed several of the guards this day. Thank you for ridding Trunau of this threat. Your services today have been invaluable. Without your efforts, I am not sure we would have survived this raid. This has been one of the worst in recent memory."

He pause for a moment then continues, "One of the sentries on the wall saw a blonde-haired Half-Orc with a pack of large wolves and shortly thereafter another humanoid enter through this gash is hillside. You have proven yourself worthy and capable. Will you go enter the tunnel, secure whatever’s inside, and apprehend or flush out whoever’s hiding within? I know you are exhausted. Go back to the aid station and rest. I will set up guards here to make sure nothing goes out or comes in until you are ready. Thanks again!"

Level Four

There are supplies to reprovision at or near the aid station. Arrows and bolts are available without cost. A few of the Barterstone merchants have set up booths to help with resupplying the town. Agrit Staginsdar has salvaged many of her scrolls and spells from her spellbook as well. Remember, you can reroll a "1." But if you roll it again, it is fate. Congratulations! Job well done.
