Omor Al'Jamous |

"Sure thing, let's all work together," says Omor.
Omor puts his hands on the wheel and pushes as hard as he can in the same direction as Donnen and Dox.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
I'm about useless here; hope Aya has something up her sleeve.

Daniel Penfold 351 |

With the four of you pushing you manage to move the stone and lock it in place (move into A2). This square room is starkly devoid of any markings or adornment. In the centre of the chamber's floor, a square shaft drops straight down into darkness. A faint musty odour rises from the pit. A single piton has been hammered into the stone floor by the northeast corner of the pit, and a dusty length of rope dangles from the piton into the darkness of the shaft

Donnen Phelps |

It looks like someone had been here before us... And dropped down that shaft. - the Human says - People are full of great ideas, right? I guess we might find some new skeletons around the way.
The brawler turns to Omor.
I'm sure Pharasma would like it...
Putting the jokes aside, he starts investigating the room carefully, clearly afraid of traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Omor Al'Jamous |

"Agreed, " nods Omor to Donnen. "This is what we call a sign."
Omor peers down the shaft. "Do you think we should drop a light down there? I don't think I can see the bottom."
Perception, down the shaft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Starting to pull his rope out of his backpack, Omor notes, "No idea how long that rope has been hanging from the spike. I'd not trust it if we have a choice."

Doxania |

"There isn't much to look at in this room, is there?" Dox walks slowly around the room, checking for traps and anything interesting. As she nears the pit, a musty smell hits her nose.
"It smells down there and I guess that's the only way to go, huh. With a sigh, she sets her bag on the floor and pulls out her rope like Omor does.
"I've got one also. But apparently I've left my piton's at home."
Perception/Looking for traps: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Omor Al'Jamous |

"The hole goes down a lot farther than it looks. Maybe we should tie two ropes together before we try to climb down?" Omor thinks out loud.
Omor starts to make a loop in one end of his rope to hang on the piton. When he is done, he lifts the old rope off the spike and lets it drop into the shaft.
Do we need skill or ability checks for tying the knots and similar or can we assume we are competent enough to do that?

Doxania |

"I'll go first." Dox says after Omor finishes tiring the ropes together. She carefully slips over the edge and tells them with a big grin,
"Guys, when I get to the bottom, I'll give a sharp tug. Until we know what's there, I'd rather not do any yelling. See ya at the bottom."
With that parting remark, she starts to make her way down carefully.
climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
stealth at bottom: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
if the ropes aren't long enough, dox can tie her rope to them also. Hopefully the 2 together is long enough, though.
Wow, I think she slips and falls at the bottom,
Blowing any chance at stealth. Lol...

Daniel Penfold 351 |

Dox you manage to climb down the rope, however just at the end your grip slips and you land in an undignified manner on your backside (in A3) Mirrored images of a warrior in side profile, facing inward, are carved on an ornate pair of stone doors in the west wall of this square room. The figure is depicted wearing padded armour, with a scarab-shaped shield on the arm facing the viewer, and a raised khopesh held aloft in the other. A crumpled humanoid body lies directly in front of the doors. A hint of decay hangs in the air, and a dried stain mars the stone floor under the body. A square shaft in the ceiling leads straight up.

Donnen Phelps |

Donnen moves in after Doxania gives the tug on the cord. The Human climbs as carefully as he can.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
He looks around as soon as he reaches the bottom, then gives another tug for the next person to come down.

Omor Al'Jamous |

Feeling the tug on the rope, Omor goes next. He tells Aya, "I'll tug on the rope when I am at the bottom. Take your time and you should be able to climb down without problems."
With that, he starts the descent.
climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Omor Al'Jamous |

Omor holds the rope for Aya as she climbs down. Once she gets to the bottom, Omor turns his attention to the body lying on the floor.
"Well, I guess we now know who left the rope for us."
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 Mostly trying to figure out what might have killed the person and if we could open the doors without disturbing the corpse but open to general observations.
Omor approaches the body slowly and prepares to perform a quick version of last rites.

Doxania |

"Ow!" Dox cried out as she her hands slipped from the rope and she fell hard on her bottom.
Sighing, she mutters to herself, "At least the others didn't see that graceless landing."
Standing up, she gives a strong tug on the rope while looking around the small area. Wonder whats up with the warriors. Trap, mayhaps? Let's see if I can find any. Thinking to herself, she looks around for a hint of a trap.
Perception/Looking for traps: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
.....
"Well, what do you guys think?" Dox asks, once everyone has gotten down the rope.

Daniel Penfold 351 |

You do not find any traps. You can see that the body is mostly skeletal with a thin layer of dessicated tissue. It is a male human or half elf who appears to have died from a fall from a great height and appears to have crawled to the doors before he expired. On the body the majority of items have rotted away although you do find 2 metal pitons,a hammer and 2 vials of alchemist's fire

Omor Al'Jamous |

Omor says a few words quietly over the corpse while holding his symbol of Pharasma. "May your journey to the Lady of Graves be a short one."
He tries to move the body out of the middle of the room and sets it in the corner, out of the path of travel. Omor is methodical but not reverent or overly slow. Then to the rest of the group, "He may not be an honored dead but he certainly met his fate in the necropolis. Let us hope we find no more unintentional residents."
Then, referring to the small pile of equipment. "His other piton served us well getting here. Does anybody want to carry the rest of the gear? There is no need to leave things in the city."
Ready to start on the door if everybody else is.

Donnen Phelps |

Donnen lets Omor do the references, then immediately knees down and retrieves the vials of alchemist's fire.
Sure thing, priest. - he says, showing the vials to the others - Unless anyone else wants to carry one, I'll save it for us now.
The brawler then approaches the door.
If not a trap, then I guess our boy fell from there, right? - he says, looking at Dox - Glad we all got here in one piece so far. Let's try to move these doors, then.
Strength (Aid Omor): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Or take 10 if possible.

Daniel Penfold 351 |

Yeah you can take ten - the doors open easily. The walls of this ten foot wide corridor feature bas-relief carvings of great battles. Armies with spears and shields clash at the direction of generals, while other leaders direct troops from chariots that are ruthlessly overrunning their enemies. Engraved stone double doors stand at either end of the hallway

Omor Al'Jamous |

Omor starts to ask "You want a hand, Do..." then stops abruptly when Donnen moves the door by himself.
Omor walks slowly down the hall, taking in what he sees.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
"You know, it looks like Akhentepi might be a bigger deal than we realized if he is one of the leaders in this battle."
Slight edit to fix formatting and bold text

Doxania |

"Give me a minute and i'll..." Doxania stopped mid sentence when she saw the darts fly out.
Sighing loudly, she says "Well, at least you didn't get hit. Now, give me a moment to check if there are any more traps, please."
Dox walks slowly, watching carefully for anything suspicious.
Perception/Looking for traps: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Omor Al'Jamous |

Omor's heart skips a beat once he realizes what just happened. "No need to race to meet the Lady. Use a little more care in the future," he thinks.
Omor shakes slightly after being narrowly missed by the dart. "Good idea, Dox. You go first next time. Make sure you give me a good smack upside the head if I get too far in front of you."
Then, turning to Donnen "You OK?" he asks.
Omor moves as little as possible while Dox checks out the rest of the corridor.

Doxania |

"Nothing else, from what I can tell. Shall we head on?" pointing at the doors.
If everyone agrees, she'll push them open.

Daniel Penfold 351 |

The door opens easily. A faded tapestry hangs on a wooden frame on the western wall of this chamber. Faded and delicate, the tapestry depicts a middle-aged man, accompanied by a woman and two children, with a small estate in the background. To either side of the tapestry are two small pedestals, upon which sit two dead and preserved animals. Stone double doors exit the chamber to the north, south, and east (from where you came from)

Doxania |

Deciding she had waited long enough for someone to ask to wait, Dox pushes open the next stone doors. Inside this room, Dox stares at the tapestry on the back wall and the animals.
"I've never understood why you would want your pet preserved like that. Would any of you ever do such a thing?" Dox asks her friends.
Slowly she walks around checking for traps and anything worth noticing.
Perception/Looking for traps: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Perception on anything useful.: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Omor Al'Jamous |

I learned my lesson last time, no going in until Dox clears the way, Omor thinks.
Hanging back a bit to give Doxania room to work, Omor fills Dox in on some of the finer points of the afterlife. "It's not really about preserving the pets. It's more about making them available so they can join you in the Boneyard. There is some debate among the priests if it is helpful or not. Personally, I don't have a pet so plans for that on my part."
Once he makes it to the pedastools, Omor examines them to see if he might find out more about the circumstances of the tomb.
Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Daniel Penfold 351 |

Dox You do not find any traps. The tapestry is a portrait of Akhentepi, his wife and two children, standing before his family home. There are several symbols and hieroglyphics that suggest that Akentepi's family befell some tragedy, possibly murder or sickness and he was left widowed. The animals on the pedestals are mummified cats.

Doxania |

"I don't since any traps. Which door do we want to take?" Dox asks no one in particular. She makes her way towards the north side of the room, making her preference known.

Donnen Phelps |

As Dox is searching for traps, Donnen looks around with Omor, examining the details to see if anything would catch his attention and light up his memory.
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Finally, when the rogue finishes and asks what door to take, the brawler accompanies her towards the north side of the room. He keeps his madu drawn, looking like a shield pointed towards the entrance.
This door, then, it is. - he completes, moving to open the door once the warpriest approaches them.

Omor Al'Jamous |

Omor and Donnen move about the room looking at the various tapestries and spending a little time on the mummified cats. "Well, the cats are staying dead, so that is a good thing. I do wonder if Akhentepi's wife will be here as well. The tapestry tells a sad story." Omor notes.
Approaching the door where Dox and Aya are standing, "This door is as good as any. Dox, do you want to do the honors? I want to avoid finding traps the hard way this time."

Daniel Penfold 351 |

Donnen you can infer that the family is probably interred somewhere else and this tomb was prepared much later, after Akhentepi's continued successful military career.
The northern door opens into another chamber. A brightly painted chariot sits in the centre of this chamber. Beyond the chariot, a large canvas stretches between two stone columns. The skins of several animals - antelopes, great cats, and crocodiles- now faded and deteriorated with age, are tacked to this canvas. A wooden chest, lacquered white and trimmed with gold inlay, sits in the southeast corner. In each corner of the room a small stone shield is moulded into the masonry at shoulder height. Am open hallway leads to the east, and a set of stone double doors leads south (back the way you came)

Omor Al'Jamous |

As the door opens Omor gazes into the chamber but it careful to not go in before Dox. Impressive, I hope this isn't trapped like the last room, he thinks.
"That chariot looks very impressive and heavy. I wonder how they got it down the shaft, " he says to the rest of the Seekers. "Finds like this are why we were sent into the tomb. We can probably learn a lot here."
This is mostly a post so everybody else can get a turn in before we enter the room.

Doxania |

"More dead animals." Dox mutters to herself, sighing as she looks around the new room.
"Let me check the room out and then i'll see if I can find any traps on the chest before we open it. That is one very nice chariot."
Perception/Looking for traps around the room: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Perception/Looking for traps on the chest if nothing noticable in room: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
She'll walk around and check the chest but not open it.

Aya_Daijaen |

Aya keeps her eyes open, shes fascinated by the animals and hieroglyphs, They believed it would allow them to join them in the afterlife. The chariot may have been used by someone in the royal court

Donnen Phelps |

Donnen shakes his head in silence, accompanying the others and feeling like he's learning a lot more about Akhentepi than he expected. When he notices the chest, he gives space to Dox to examine it - they already saw the traps of this place, and it wasn't too hard to imagine what else could be rigged to bring their death.

Omor Al'Jamous |

"How are things looking, Dox? Find any piles of gemstones out there?"
Then, to everybody else, Omor gives a point of warning and information, "Be careful around the chariot. It looks to have been taken apart before it was moved down the shaft at the top. It might not be put together as well as it was on the surface. "

Omor Al'Jamous |

Sorry, was hoping for Dox to give the all clear before doing too much. Omor is a bit worried about setting off another trap given the recent history in the hallway.
While Doxania examines the chest in the corner, Omor tries to cover the rest of the room. The curious stone shields in the corners of the room draw his attention. He tries to examine them more closely.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
"Hey, Donnen and Aya, how do things look for you? Let's try to have Dox concentrate on the chest."

Doxania |

"Sorry for taking so long, guys. There is a trap here, stay back. I'm going to try to disarm it." Dox pushes a strand of hair back from her face as she kneels before the chest searching for the mechanism to disarm the trap.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
My apologies. I work 3rds, so my days run together sometimes and we didn't get home until really late yesterday

Daniel Penfold 351 |

The shield devices are torch holders. The skins are clearly hunting trophies.
Dox, you try to disable the trap but you realise that you haven't on this occasion, however you have managed to wedge it so you can open the chest but that will break the chest's contents slightly, or you can try again
