Victor steps gingerly away from the door, in a cartoonish manner. He then stage whispers to the group "Does anyone haf an Alchemist Fire or three?"

![]() |

Tell me one interesting detail Victor would know about these bats, dealer's choice

![]() |

Damion quickly scrambles to follow his allies. He sees Quogup holding a flask. The slimy man looks into his pack, and pulls out a flask of acid.
He offers to use it.

![]() |

The half-elf looks around at the party.
"So... throw them? Or close the door?"

![]() |

"If ve haf a couple of flasks, as vell as perhaps your lightning Haranum, ve should be able to take on zese pesky critters. Perhaps there is something hidden around there?" Victor smiles a sly grin.
"Sadly, I came with more gold than gear, so I don't believe I haf one. But I can make your blood surge vhile you throw!"

![]() |

"Oh, yes. There is that."
Haranum dismisses the Eidolon, who glares at the summoner. The Qadirian moves so that he can target the place the swarm is in.
Ready an action: once the first splash weapon is thrown, then call lightning into the square of the swarm.

While K'Coro may be jealous of the one called Esdras (either consciously or subconsciously is yet to be determined), he still realizes he is ill equipped to deal with the current situation. He steps back to allow the others deal with the newest threat.

![]() |

Victor will ready to pound out some sweet, courage-inspiring, drum tunes when the first person gets in position to huck their flask.

![]() |

I just realized, I have cheated twice now. I must be able to HEAR Victor's music to be inspired by it. I cannot. I do apologize.
Damion looks around waiting for the go ahead to throw the flask of acid. His aim looks really off... really off.

![]() |

Damion looks around, and runs to the corner, and flings his acid flask at the swarm of bats.

help!?

GM Brodie073 |

Perhaps lip-reading Haranum's statement, "Oh yes, there is that" as "Go mess the acid, bats", Damion confidentally charges into the room and solidly flings an acid flask up at the ceiling. The splashing droplets of fierce corrosives spread widely and the roosting bats cause further damage as they crowd about, flapping and making other bats touch the acidic mixture. The high pitched screeches meld together with the undulating waves of melting bats, creating an orchestra of horror as sizzling bats drop about the floor. The remaining bats flap in terror as they coalesce into a flying mass...

![]() |

Not entirely sure what he is going to do, but not willing to let the hearing impaired human die alone, K’Coro runs into the room to lend Damion, if nothing else, moral support.
”For Shimye!”, he yells.
40 foot movement into the room, he readies an action to attack the swarm should it come close enough, in the hope it will draw its attention away from the squishy human.

![]() |

Damion not knowing what else to do. Decides to do the one thing he knows might do some good.
Damion focuses on the cold in his heart, and lashes out with his frosted tongue.
Wintery Touch tongue Lash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Wintry Touch damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The lash of his tongue flings through the swarm uselessly. Drips of acid burn his tongue. Damion winces, and retreats behind K'Coro. Damions eyes wide with discomfort.

![]() |

K’Coro speaks to Damion as the man moves behind him, not thinking about the fact that he won’t be heard.
”Take heart, friend Bogtouched. K’Coro will stay here and try to draw them off.” He tightens his grip on his greatsword. "If we are to go, at least we go with a mighty throw and a mighty swing!”

Quogup moves into the room and throws his alchemist fire at the swarm of bats.
Throwing into the second range incriment

GM Brodie073 |

With a superior nimbleness inherent to his race, Quogup leaps into action and flings his instrument of destruction, a bottle of flame producing chemicals. It is fiercely batted around byte swirling mass of flapping bats until it strikes the floor and explodes in a pyrotechnic display of deadly proportions to the grouping of flying mammals. The screeching reaches a feverish pitch as the swarm disperses from its collective and spreads out around the room, buffeting those assembled as the bats fly out through the earthquake-opened exterior.
Combat over, what do you want to do next?

![]() |

Looking down at the small grippli, K'Coro addresses Quogup. "Thank you, small friend. Damion and K'Coro appreciate your well-timed support."
Looking through the room and guano, K'Coro searches for anything that might be of value.

While the others are searching, Haranum conducts the ritual to summon the Archon.

![]() |

Damion begins praying to Pharasma, hoping that he doesn't need another such flask soon. He also thanks Pharasma for such stellar aim. When he opens his eyes. He watches K'Coro search.
He glances at Haranum.
Damion extends his long tongue and begins to soothe the slight chemical burns from trying to lick at the swarm. Once bandaged, he walks over to the far wall.
Time has well worn these walls and stones.
Damion's Poor Perception: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (9) - 4 = 5

![]() |

Damion kind of shrugs. He finds nothing where he is. He turns and points at the rugged side of the wall and the exposed next floor. He swings his hand above his head in a small circle and pantomimes throwing something.
He then points to the stairs.
Damion knows the stairs will win, he just figured he'd ask in case someone felt like climbing to avoid walking through the bat remains.

K'Coro dips the tip of his finger in the liquid and touches it to his tongue, trying to identify the substance.

Haranum finishes the summoning, and as Esdras appears you can hear distant thunder.

Esdras, the Lightning of Heaven |

The Eidolon takes in the guano and bat par covered room.
Esdras's head shakes in clear disapproval, and proceeds to the stairway.
The Eidolon waits in the doorway, impatient.

GM Brodie073 |

K'Coro dips the tip of his finger in the liquid and touches it to his tongue, trying to identify the substance.
[dice="Please don't be soy milk, please don't be soy milk" perception]1d20+7
Perhaps it is the residual bat guano on the exterior of the vial but K'Coro is unable to discern the properties of the liquid via tasting.

Quogup takes a page out of K'Coro's book, dips the tip of his finger in the liquid and touches it to his tongue in an effort to identify the liquid's properties.

Damion walks over to the Stairs. He raises his eyebrow at the pair. He checks over his equipment. Then Damion casts Guidance on the Eidolon to assist the big creature on what it may endevour to do next.

Victor offers "I should be able to divine what magics are in this bottle."
Detect Magic plus Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

![]() |

Afterwards, he joins the group, looking to head up the staircase.
That's three! Let's do this!

GM Brodie073 |

K'Coro passes the dust and guano coated vial to Quogup for a taste but the overwhelming smell of burnt bat foils his taste buds. Victor opts to not handle the encrusted vial for a taste and instead attempts to magically determine if the liquid contents are of a diving or arcane imbued sort. After focusing his attention on the vial for a brief while, Victor does discern the liquid is of a magical nature but he is unable to tell what its effects do.
Damion imparts a bit of enhancing magic onto Esdras and many of the group look towards the stairs.

Esdras, the Lightning of Heaven |

The Eidolon nods approvingly and goes up the stairs.
Ragathiel has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them.

![]() |

Victor pats the Eidolon's shoulder, pretending to understand. "Yes, I agree ve should head upstairs. Lead the way!"

Esdras, the Lightning of Heaven |

The Eidolon opens the door at the top of the stairs.

![]() |

Going along with the Eidolon, Victor goes to the top of the stairs too.
Let's do this out of order, just to muck with the GM! :D

Damion hoists his shield into position. Prepped for the worst. He grips his heavy mace firmly in his hand.
He blink. He stairs nervously forward beyond Esdras lies the unknown. A danger. A weird slime pools in his grip between his thumb and the heft he clings to.
He peers forward; attempting to see around the bend of the stair case. His heart beats faster with each step up. His muscles coiled ready to spring. The lips tremble from adrenaline. Hot fire and violence coursing through is veins.
Damion's ears begin to hear the clatter of bone chimes. He know the sound is real. He knew it was coming. Something was about to happen. He only hears the river of bones when something important is about to happen.
His shirt becomes damp with sweat and mucus from his pores. The grip on the leather hand hold of his shield squeels slightly has he grips it firmer. Damion begins to mouth a silent prayer. His airy raspy voice is barely audible to those with functional ears. Damion cautiously looks behind him for those in his charge.
Damion will not allow any of them to ride the river this day. Not if he can help it. Damion twirls his mace in his hands to stretch his tightened muscles. He begins to coil himself like a spring. Ready to Snap into action at any sudden movement he can detect.

The four wings of the tower are completely
open on this level, forming one great,
cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center, where a spiral staircase drops out of sight below. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing next to a big chest. Seated in the chair is a very imperious looking reptilian humanoid with a fierce and hungry albino crocodile next to him. The ambient odor of the reptilian permeates the room and it addresses you in its raspy, hissing language.
The ceiling is 20 feet high in this room; it is dimly lit by the daylight shining through the archways.

Damion's eyes water profusely in the stench but he is able to keep his inner fortitude together as he moves up to imbue the reptilian with summoned magic of a painful nature. However, his tongue lash goes astray due to the injured Esdras standing in his way.
K'Coro, being resistant to poisons by right of his nags-blessed heritage, is unphased by the vile smell and finds the rage fueled power within him to score a brutal and final blow upon the overly confidant reptilian. The odor diminishes slightly, its host exudes no more.
The death of its master sends the albino crocodile into a fury, it continues to snap and thrash at the heroes.
Quogup ascends to the top of the stairs, the pungent odor reduced in strength somewhat, and bestows divine martial capability onto his allies.
