GM Brodie073 |
Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks
hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on
display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in
place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of
rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer that had a one-night stand with a lactose-intolerant, elderly, zombified goat's fart and the unholy union born then rolled around in four day old chum that was sealed in haggis.
Within the dark room are two humanoid creatures. These humanoids' scaly hide is dull gray. Its frame resembles that
of a cave lizard, with a long tail and crests on its head and back. The two humanoids both have javelins drawn and look at the opened door in anger. They both hiss and growl.
Red: We must vanquish them! And skin them! And craft new crotch garments from their tanned and cured skins! My crotch itches and desires new coverings!
Blue: I thought we agreed that was a mistake and never to speak of it again!

Both javelins, though thrown by slightly weaker adversaries, still score hits on Haranum's eidolon.
That's a total of 5 damage on Esdras, that second damage roll still does a minimum 1 damage. The non lethal damage on Edras now exceeds the lethal damage done on them. Do eidolons go unconscious from non lethal?

Recovering, Esrdas looks with contempt at the humanoids. The Eidolon stands up, and walks across the room. Esdras is directly adjacent to both of them ready to attack.

The room is dark, do you have darkvision or a light source?
K'Coro |
Whoops, forgot that part by the time I had caught up on the reading. No. No, I do not have an activated light source. If you will allow a retraction and re-do...?
K'Coro, in his haste, charges into the room. He quickly realizes, though, that his eyes are not able to pierce the darkness. He stops a little way in and hesitates, unsure if it would be wise to ignite a torch in this environment full of possibly flammable smells and gasses.
Will try to come up with something better after the morning demands are met. Sorry, everyone.
GM Brodie073 |
The dark smelly room proves a challenge to the heroes. Those with the capability to see through the darkness find it occupied by two reptilian humanoids; those without such ocular abilities can only conjecture at the enemies' description in the dark. Hisses and raspy growls issue forth from the room that emits an odor that could only be surpassed by a tarrasque's flatuence. Esdras takes hits from javelins from the dark, felling the already injured eidolon. Damion remedies Esdras' pain and becomes more familiar with the flavor of a hound archon's fur than he ever really wanted while Haranum casts protective magic upon his summoned servant. The brash eidolon rushes into the darkness, unaffected by the fierce stench, soon followed by K'Coro who is unable to find his way through the dark room.

Esdras places a fist directly through one of the reptilians to better see what comprises its inner moral fiber and finds what they see is lacking. The reptilian slumps to the floor. And Esdras thought the reptilians smelled bad on the outside.
Praise be, there is light at last. The reptilian hisses and flinches in surprise at the newly appeared light but otherwise is unaffected. Peering further into the room, Victor attempts to get a closer look as to what these new advesaries are but then he recalls that he skipped the reptilian humanoids lecture to play hacky sack with his friends in the quad back at the Ustalav community college that one day long ago.

K'Coro blinks briefly in the sudden light, but quickly recovers. Seeing the carnage the eidolon left of the first creature, he moves forward with a mighty swing, unconsciously trying to at least match the hound archon. I mean, this is supposed to be his kind of shtick, right?

Haranum Al-Evess |
Haranum smiles politely, says "I quite like Qadirian cuisine. Much better than was passes for sustenance on the rest of Astivan, much less the bland food among my mothers people."

Victor Von Schwarzerwald |
"Unfortunately, that is beyond my ability, unless someone happens to haf a vand on them." Victor replies with a sly grin while he wraps up his drumming with a flourish. He steps into the room, holding his nose whilst looking around for anything interesting.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
GM Brodie073 |
The reptilian slumps to the ground and moves no more. As seconds pass, the smell reduces further to not much more than a moderate background fart, making it possible for the others to enter the room after a minute and alleviating the sickness instilled on those who intially succumbed to the smell.
Sickened conditions gone and smell no longer affecting after a minute.
Reviewing the room, you turn up the following:
Two clubs used by the lizard people
A trap installed on the inside of the room of the southern door to launch a javelin at anyone attempting to open the door from the other side
Lots of old, old weapons. Most of the few remaining arms in the
room have rusted away, making them useless in combat. But maybe with a good appraise check, treasure might be found among the trash.
The door directly to the east/center of the room reveals access to the spiral staircase leading up the tower. The stairs leading down are blocked with rubble but is unobstructed going upwards.

Since he entered before a minute was up, I'll roll for Victor for RP value

Damion continues walking around the room. He begins a small prayer to Pharasma over the dead. Preparing small funerary rights for them to commend them to the afterlife.
He walks to the corner of the room. He settles in a corner near both doors. He looks at each door and gestures with his hands and shrugs. His intense eyes attempt to read everyone as they move about the now stinky room.
