Quite a perceptive bunch!

As the party reaches the corner, you see a sarcophagi door/cover open 15' ahead of Eli. You also hear 2 other doors opening, 1 west of you and 1 south of you, both outside of your Light range.

Surprise Round
Dumah
Tyronel
Quzman
Bahiyy
Eli [I'll have him here unless he comes in and rolls]

On Dumah's turn, nothing has come out of the sarcophagus yet. You can ready an action if you'd like, if you plan to attack. Remember, only standard or move actions in a Surprise Round, not both!

Since Tyronel can't see anything, but can cetainly hear movement, he grabs a couple of arrows from his quiver, ready to begin firing if attacked.

Dumah will ready an action.

EDIT: Sorry. To cast Flaming Sphere.

HP 63/63; AC: 25(23)/15/21(19); F+7/R+9/W+4; Init: +3 (+5); Percep: +11 (+13)

Quzman will draw his weapons as he moves forward to get in a position that will hopefully allow Eli an opportunity to flank with him if combat ensues, and is somewhat defensible (G4) while allowing him to see what is approaching from the opening sarcophagus.

Quzman's light source is Eli's compass, I am assuming.

A clearly undead creature with a skeletal face but corporeal body, dressed in the tattered robes of a Sarenrae priest, steps out of the sarcophagus and rushes at Quzman with its outstretched to strangle him with his bony fingers, when a ball of fire appears at its side and engulfs the creature in flames, as it collapses in G2!

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14...fails
Flaming Sphere Damage: 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) + 2 = 9

Out of the darkness, from the west, another similar creature moves to G3, hatred in its features (No AoO from Quzman due to cover).

To the south, hidden by the shadows a little, Tyronel can see another creature approaching in the shadowy illumination.

Does Dumah's mage armor spell still protect me, or has it passed its duration?

Still good, it's on for 4 hours.

Dumah
Tyronel (already acted this round)
Quzman
Undead
Bahiyy
Eli

Dumah will move the flaming sphere into the creature at G3, hopefully torching it as well.

For Quzman:

Spoiler:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Quzman wipes the sweat from his brow from the closeness of the fire and relaxes as the 3 abomination fall to the floor. "Good Dumah, would you mind letting me out of this corner when you can please?"

Are we out of turns now? If no one else presents a target, Dumah will send the flaming sphere 30' down the west corridor, looking for any targets.

Actually, as Quzman finishes his sentence, all 3 undead rise from the ground, whispering, "Stay with us....Stay forever with Xulthos!" It is a terrifying sight watching the seemingly destroyed undead rise and you feel fear overcoming your senses!

Quzman gets an AoO on the one right in front of him. After that, I need 2 Will Saves from Dumah, Eli, and Quzman and 1 Will Save from Tyronel and Bahiyy!

Quzman's enchanted blade decapitates the mostly burned creature who is rising and the corpse falls to the floor again. Only 1 Will Save then!

However, after that, fear overcomes Quzman and Dumah. They drop everything they're holding incuding weapons and they run down the corridor to the south at top speed!

Eli manages to summon his inner reserves and is able to overcome the supernatural fear effect.

"What in the hell is going on?" Tyronel asks in a confused manner. "Bahiyy, any idea what is happening here?"

I think in one round of running Dumah could probably get back to the well (since the portcullis is lodged open). Is the movement a reaction to the fear spell, or does it occur on his turn? If it is the former, then the undead in the south hall would get an aoo on Dumah I believe.

Tyronel wrote:

To move things along...Bahiyy's Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19...success! "I don't know, I felt a fear overcome me but thanks to Abadar, I was able to fight it off! I think I've heard legends of these creatures...coffer corpses, they're called, they love to strangle their victims to death! They're resistant to damage but I remember reading that a priest once destroyed one with a magical mace!"

Dumah almost bowls Tyronel over, as he runs south, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Run for your lives, they're coffer corpses!"

Unfortunately, his path of fear puts him right in the path of the coffer corpse to the south, who attempts to grapple him as he passes by, but misses poorly! Dumah runs under the gate and cowers in the corner of the room with the chute.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Quzman also runs in fear, screaming, "Get it away from me!" and he draws an Attack of Opportunity as well, this one from the newly risen Coffer Corpse, who misses.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

He double moves and ends his action in the square next to the Coffer Corpse to the south!

Bahiyy and Eli are up!

DM, I am out today for work. Hearing that magic is needed to destroy these creatures, Ty will grab his magical axe and see if that will keep those things down.

Bravely Eli stands his ground facing the remaining creature and then swipes with his frosty blade trying to remove the skull of the living corpse.

using Combat Experitse; current AC 19

Damage 1d8 - 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) - 1 + (2) = 2

While Eli's blade fails to penetrate its thick skin, Tempest's magical cold does seem to hurt the creature.

Bahiyy then raises his holy symbol: "Begone foul beasts of undeath! So commands you Abadar!" He Channels positive energy to harm undead and catches both undead creatures in his radius.

Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
Coffer Corpse next to Eli Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Coffer Corpse next to Quzman Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Despite one of them making its save, both undead are overpowered by the positive energy and crumble to dust in wake of the holy energy!

Eli curiously notes a scroll laying among the rags in the dust of his undead creature. Bahiyy and Tyronel notice a scroll as well in the remains of the other creature.

After another round, the fear overcoming Dumah and Quzman fades.

Dumah returns sheepishly, realizing that he had allowed himself to be overcome by the magical fear. He glances at Quzman, silently relieved that he wasn't the only one...

Quietly he comments Well done.

Bahiyy analyzes the scrolls and tells the party he found the following, both cast at 3rd level:

Scroll 1: Bull's Strength
Scroll 2: Blessing of Courage and Life

APG spell description:
With this prayer you provide long-lasting succor to a wounded creature. For as long as the effect lasts, the target receives a +2 morale bonus on saving throws against fear and death effects. At any time while the spell is in effect, the target can choose to end the spell as a swift action for a burst of healing energy. The target loses the saving throw bonus, but is healed of 1d8 points of damage +1 point per caster level (maximum +10).

He especially marvels at the discovery of the second spell.

As you can tell, I have received my APG, so bits will be sprinkled here and there.

25' ahead, the corridor is blocked by 2 ornate stone doors with faded glyphs inscribed on it. The double doors open outward and the party members get a chill and goosebumps down their spine, as they stand in the doorway's presence.

Knowledge (Religion) or Arcana DC 20 Check:
Both arcane and divine magic was used in the sealing of this door. However, the fading of the glyphs also means the door's magic has been disrupted.

Perception DC 15:
There is no dust on the floor in front of the door and in fact, your keen eyes detect grains of sand on the floor.

Knowledge Arcana 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Knowledge Religion 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Gentlemen, these glyphs are unusual. Both wizardry and the power of the gods was used to seal these doors. But to my knowledge they should not be faded like this. It can only mean that the door's magic has been disrupted; the seal in no longer intact.

Dumah tilts his head to one side, looking down. Strange, this series of corridors and chambers has shown no sign of passage until now. But here by the door there is no dust. Dumah crouches down. Not dust, but there is sand here. Grains of sand scattered about. I'm not entirely sure what to make of that.

"I suspect that whatever is in there will not be friendly. We need to be preapred for it to come out blasting at us."

DM, got my APG today as well! What a book...I am still looking at some of the more tasty bits.

Before we enter, I can call forth a creature from the enchanted bag to help. I also have a scroll for a spell that will temporarily enchant a weapon. It would only last a minute, but it may help. Everything else in my arcane and mundane arsenal would only be effective directed at whatever foe awaits us.

Bahiyy speaks, "I've got the two scrolls, each of which will last 3 minutes, a potion of invisibility, and the following spells":

Protection from evil, Shield of faith 2x, Divine Favor (Domain spell)
Enthrall (Domain spell)

Dumah, don't forget you also have:

Cloak of resistance +1, wand of bull’s strength (8 charges), ring of the ram (9 charges), and ptn mage armor. I don't see it in your profile. May come in useful!

Quzman, you have:
Amulet of Natural Armor +1, +1 dagger, Silversheen (x2), Ptn magic fang, Ptn cure moderate wounds. Also not on your profile. At least this is what you guys have according to the split you agreed and posted.

Dumah clears his throat. Ahem. Forgive my fever addled mind. I can also use the wand we recovered to cast a spell of strength on each of our combatants. When we are prepared to go beyond this portal, I can certainly do that as well.

Thanks! Completely forgot!

"Dumah, if you would consider casting your spell to enchant a weapon on my bow, it would be appreciated. I could do more damage to whatever is waiting over there on us."

Bahiyy speaks, "I can go invisible and serve as the party's healer again. I can cast one Shield of Faith on Quzman, the other on either Eli or Tyronel, and a Protection from Evil on whomever didn't get the Shield of Faith. Or should the Protection from Evil go on Quzman? I'd hate to see our strongest warrior turned against us! What do you guys think? Both of these spells will last minutes. Bull's Strength should definitely go on Quzman since he is our tank, either through the scroll or the wand. Tyronel has a potion of haste, if things get desperate. Other than that, I think we're ready."

Then without knowing more about what is on the other side of the door, I believe we are ready.

How does this sound to everyone?

Dumah will pull a critter out of his bag and ready his scroll. He'll use the wand to cast Bull Strength on Quzman, Eli and Ty. While he's doing that Bahiyy will cast Shield of Faith on Quzman and Eli, then Protection from Evil on Quzman. Dumah casts Magic Weapon on Ty's bow and Bahiyy drinks his potion of invisibility. If anyone wants to drink a personal potion, they do so while Dumah is reading the scroll and Bahiyy is drinking his potion. Then we let Quzman pull the doors open and we see what there is to see.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what the final distribution ended up being. I've updated my sheet (I believe I had been 1 high on the CMW to start, so I didn't add any to it).

"Bahiyy, if you can protect my mind from evil influence, I think I would prefer that. Damage to the body is much easier to heal from than damage to the mind. Also a good strength boost would be helpful too good mage. It truly made the difference in the fight with the sub-cheiftain oh so long ago."

While still talking with Dumah, "Friend, I also have a potion to make my weapons as if they were silver. From your studies, do you think that would be of advantage in a fight against undead such as we've faced here or whatever may lay ahead?"

It is difficult to say without knowing more about what lies beyond. Coming from this temple so far I believe we have encountered undead, a monster of the Abyss and creatures from the elemental planes. Some are vulnerable and some are not. Unfortunately I do not have a spell that would tell that to me.

HP 63/63; AC: 25(23)/15/21(19); F+7/R+9/W+4; Init: +3 (+5); Percep: +11 (+13)

The magic weapon spell won't help my attack with the masterwork weapon, but it will give me an extra point of damage on every arrow.

When you are ready....

Quzman's enhanced strength easily allows him to open the double doors to this dark chamber. The air is damp and cold and your hairs stand on edge, as you believe you can actually feel the evil in this room. You immediately notice the floor in this room is made of polished blue stone. And within the light of your spells and Eli's compass, you can see 2 marble pillars 15' diagonally to the east and west of the doorway. The room appears to be much larger, as it goes past even your range of shadowy illumination.

Do you step in.....?
