Well, Nary is awesome, and I imagine it's a nice change of pace from having to set everything up : )

Hmmmmmm, nope, I miss wearing my 50 NPC hats.
Nary is cool though! She was.... originally a villain I made who would be a con-artist shopkeeper.
My players let their guards down while doing RPG-y stuff like shopping, so she'd sneak 'em a fake magic item and jet! And then it'd be an investigation to hunt the gnome down. With some extra confusion when you realize they were twins.
But uh... I decided a mind-control villain would be unfun. And also my f2f players have difficulty with investigation stuff. I was scared they'd just get frustrated and angry at losing money, and then become irrationally paranoid at every shop they ever shopped at again.
I worry that she'll end up too villain-y for this group, though :(

It's fine. I've no idea which way Ila will go, beyond 'more crazy'. :)
As for 'paranoid', yeah. I make a huge habit of not doing something to my players that will make them not want to do something, unless it's something they shouldn't want to do.
I will totally shoot your 4 hp wizard in the chest with a crossbow if he opens a dungeon door. You deserve it.
I will -not- have a mimic replace a door in the middle of a city and try to eat your wizard for trying to go into his room. That would be not only silly, but make you afraid to -ever open a door again-. :)

Our group is hardly do-gooder-y to begin with ; )
And if she hangs around Auraelia, I'm certain she'll get some of the rougher edges filed off. After all, even if Auraelia isn't explicitly good, she treats her friends well and even if Nary doesn't get it yet, she honestly likes the gnome and certainly won't ever use or take advantage of her : )

Nary-a-Care |

Hmm, well I would have roleplayed out the encounter with Nary, which should be a prompt to make skill checks and pay more attention to the scene.
I'd rely on the fact that my players would probably assume "oh she just felt like RPing a quirky gnome magic shopkeeper" or "maybe this shopkeeper has a QUEST!" to pull it over on 'em. They could totally call her bluffs, I just don't expect them to. Sort of like how you could have totally called Sana's bluffs, but didn't. Cards stacked in the house's favor.
But I think what would happen is my players would make a big to-do even when shopping "quickly" - because naturally I am just an evil GM that would sell you a fake magic item during an interaction that goes like this
"I want to go to town and buy a +1 keen longsword." "Okay. That'll be 1,550 gp, since you're well liked by the blacksmith." "Okay, good."

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Nary, too villainy for this party... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I think she'll fit in just fine.

Ha! True.
Hopefully this Ileosa isn't immune to mind-affecting magic ;)
I'd love to possess her! Then Nary would have all the minions. Mwhahahaha!

Everyone ends up Nary's bestest friend in the end. Or dead. ;)
That's one of those rough edges that needs to be smoothed out ;)

Auraelia Blackthorn |

Where was Ila's house? Was it far from where Auraelia and Marius live?

Auraelia Blackthorn |

Old Korvosa, near the Ironworks

Ila Indigo |

Auraelia: Croc and small child.
Aaron: Alchemy goodies.
Ila: Not a goshdarned thing. ;~;
Mavarro: Crossbow, Shiv, Monies.
Nary: Paladin sword.
I've no idea where the goodie box is, but Nary's post suggested that she was adamant about staying with it, wherever it was, til she got her share of the loot.

Auraelia Blackthorn |

It was pretty light when it was described, otherwise Auraelia would've figured out how to take it.

Auraelia Blackthorn |

If Ila didn't, Nary definitely said she did.

Ila Indigo |

:P I'm pretty sure you posted that you scooped up the money with Mavarro. :)

Ila Indigo |

Ah, right! I remembered reading -that- part, but dropped the other part. :)
We are worst party. But Ila pointedly didn't take stuffs. :)
I'm just imagining Nary sitting in the main room of the building crying because she can't carry the sword, the loot, -and- the gold. XD

Aaron 'Hatchet Man' Crispin |

If anyone hands stuff off to Aaron, he will carry it for people. He didn't bother to grab the armor though, since none of it was of particularly good quality.

Auraelia Blackthorn |

Don't look at me. Auraelia got what she came for, and a bonus crocodile ;p

Nary-a-Care |

Nary did indeed grab all the cash.
She definitely wanted the rest of the stuff. But it sounded like a bigass chest. If leinathan thinks she could carry that, and all the gold, and the sword, then.... ok! XD She'd totally have done that. She don't give a damn how ridiculous she'd look.
It sounds like Aaron was the most likely person to have grabbed the chest. But since he never explicitly said he did so, thats a GM call.
If we left all that stuff at Lamm's place, though, Nary totally intends to go back for it tomorrow night. Assuming circumstances allow :P

Auraelia Blackthorn |

Auraelia went back down for her axe after the group had headed up. If the chest had been there then still, she would've brought it up for certain.

Auraelia Blackthorn |

leinathan, did you figure out how far of a walk it is for Auraelia to return home?
If it's ~5 min or so she'll definitely want to return, at the very least to check on Marius and drop off Sigrid.

leinathan |

I think it's about half a mile home, but you'll have to avoid a few crowds and mobs and such on the way in. So it'll take about twelve minutes.
Double that if you're dragging the crocodile.
I'm not gonna force any encounters on you when you're at 1 health, though. That's just cruel.

A very emaciated rat dips around an alleyway, scurrying away from the ruckus down the other street. As it moves into the street it locks eyes with Auraelia. As it begins to charge, a stiff wind blows, and Auraelia flops over, denying the rat its hard-earned experience points.

Auraelia Blackthorn |

At least it wasn't the dreaded house cat pouncing on Auraelia :p

Nary-a-Care |

Leinathan -
I've been pondering thrallherd, cause it's really cool. I dunno if I'll do it because while that is totally what Nary would love to do, it's also kinda evil to have over a hundred brain-slaves o_o;
But of course there is a very very long time before then to see if I'm going all super-villain with Nary.
Anyway, I wanna know what you'd require for it since obviously Nary is not psionic.
Specifically - would you require the Skill Focus (Diplomacy) feat for entry into the prc? If you're gonna want a feat as a prereq, would you be open to modifying the Inquisitor psionic feat to something that actually works with psychic magic?
And - would you require Knowledge (Psionics)? Or handwave it? Or maybe change it to a different skill requirement?
If you are requiring Nary know Telepathy - the soonest she could enter the PrC currently is level 11.

A Thing: 1d8 ⇒ 8
A few things about the thrallherd: One is that they're not REALLY slaves.
Thrallherds send out a resonating psychic call, a call that urges those who may be actively or subconsciously seeking someone to guide them, control them, or lead them to come to the thrallherd. These followers of the thrallherd are completely loyal fanatics who will follow the thrallherd’s instructions completely. As a result, thrallherds tend to have large retinues that can either stay close to the thrallherd, go out and perform varied tasks, or even stay behind and manage the thrallherd’s residence.
I'd probably require Skill Focus (Diplomacy) or a modified version of Inquisitor. The modification would likely be.... as long as you aren't prevented from using thought or emotion descriptors, you get the Sense Motive bonus, and you can... expend a spell slot, maybe? To get a bonus equal to 5 + the level of the spell on a Sense Motive check?
Of course, if you can find a feat that does something similarly-themed but is a feat you'd rather take I'm open to that kind of thing. Like... Alertness.
The Knowledge (psionics) prerequisite I would change to Knowledge (arcana).
I'd require either telepathy, telepathic bond or battlemind link as a spell known.
Also! I add stuff to the campaign tab from time to time. Just in case you're wondering if there's stuff in there.

Nary-a-Care |

Okay, thanks :D
I'll probably go for a modified Inquisitor then. Skill Focus (Diplomacy) is so boring ughhh D:
If they're not slaves that helps my alignment woes! Still... super mega creepy and villain-y.

Hahaha, well she's actively trying to paint as glowing a picture about it as she can ;)
Like skipping the parts where Lamm got tortured for information by a little crazzzyyy persssonn
And the part where some lady invited me over for fruit and angst who was totally alive was actually dead the whole time because of the maggot head in the hat box D: believe me officer it is true!

My notifications for this game vanished for some reason! D:
But not for the discussion. Like, what? UGH. I have some catching up to do.
Edit: Well, that explains it. It was hidden for some reason. :/

She pauses. "How long is soon?" She sounds a little desperate. It isn't faked.
Like, are we talkin' Blizzard Soon or Half Life 3 Soon?
